  1. One of many players at the club with disdain for the fans, there were many more loyal to Kean than we'd all like to think.

If they're going to give him grief on Twitter then what do they expect? I can just about understand the logic someone thinking their entitled to air their opinion inside the ground when they've paid to be there. They do not have the right to just say whatever they want to the players on Twitter though, it's ridiculous.

How did that idiot think saying "gonna pass to a Rovers player on Saturday?" was going to help?

  2. He doesn't seem to be getting any game time for Palace. Looking at skysports, it seems like their strikers have been subbed off for other strikers, but not Goodwillie. One sub appearance to date.

He looked quite out of shape for us, it wouldn't surprise me if they have him a proper training regime before they set him into the first team.

  3. Goodwillie should be starting every game in the absence of Kazim-Richards, I'm not surprised he's had enough.

He's not the prettiest to watch and will always be held back by the lack of any standout physical attribute, but he does have something about him. You could tell he was rusty as hell against Leicester but still managed to turn a defender inside out and was unlucky not to score. Comes on against MK Dons and makes a difference again.

I assumed there was a fitness reason why Edinho was being selected ahead of him, but it appears from his comments that isn't the case.

  4. That's what the Real Madrid president said about Makelele before their downfall after they sold him......it's not often a defensive midfielder's job to make defence-splitting forward passes and I would have no problem if every pass he made this season was a 5 yard one to Murphy.

It's something that just isn't in English football culture, and is derided on the terraces.

It's why we always come up woefully short at international level, we simply don't have the possession retaining skills required.

  5. Jeeeeez, im all for this deal, but a 4 year deal when he's 30. The mind boggles.

It's the only way we can attract people to this level I guess, same with Murphy getting a 2 year deal.

He does bring something we haven't had for a long time. Murphy and Etuhu will probably be the strongest midfield in the division. If we can get a goalscorer in and a bit of backup in defence then we might just have a chance of promotion.

At least he's not long turned 30.

  6. because it barely makes sense. we find it hard to believe in the office.

I think that just highlights the complete lack of understanding towards mental health issues in this country.

To say he shouldn't be affected it by because he had a successful career is like saying someone with a successful career shouldn't get cancer. It's a disease and hit anybody.

Edit: Not a dig at you there Chris, there is so little attention paid to it that people can be forgiven for a lack of understanding.

What really makes it even more difficult is that he apparently showed no signs that he was suffering from it. I was incredibly difficult watching the Football Focus clip of him online, listening to him talking about the future and laughing and joking, knowing it was only hours before what tragically happened.

  7. What a tragedy.

He seemed like the ultimate professional. He kept himself in immaculate condition in his playing days, allowing him to play at high level for several years more than most, and was just beginning to make his mark on the international managerial scene with a talented Welsh team. It really looked like he was building a team capable of making a major tournament. R.I.P.

  8. Funny as hell, totally, yes "Totally" unPC.

It is not suitable for Americans, full stop. Sorry guys, you just don't have that kind of sense of humour, as has been proven by some remarks on twitter.

South Park seems to do ok...
