  1. I only got the Friday in. but

Metallica were as professional as usual, even though they missed out One from their set list (probably due to all the messing around fixing the safety barriers)

System of a Down surprised me, considering I dont normally like their stuff.

Hell is For Heroes in the Radio 1 stage stole the show for me though.

    missed hell is for heroes

only saw first 3 and last 3 from metallica as i was at the front for the music

system of a down were ok, not overkeen

    hope u enjoyed the day

I'm not keen on SOAD either but they were really good.  I liked the bit where he was on about the Iraq war and thanking people...then said 'F**k you from the bottom of my heart' to the people who supported it.

Anybody see Radio 4?  I wasn't expecting a whole lot but they were great, Har Mar Superstar joined them for the last song which was cool.

Just read on NME.com that Meg White went on stage with Brendan Benson in the Carling tent I'm really @#/? that I missed that

  2. I am very impressed with The Darkness. At first I thought they were some sort of parody act, but the music is actually very good.

just got back from leeds festival and they put on a great show as well as sounding cool live.

The Darkness rocked!  I was right at the front for that one and it was one of the best performances I've seen.  The Datuns also put on a great show.

  3. How many people from here are going to Leeds festival?  I'm setting off tomorrow (yes, I know it starts Friday but what the hell).

I was thinking of taking my 'Dirty dirty Leeds' T-Shirt...but I don't think I will since I like my nose where it is.

  4. Word Gets Around was, and still is, one of the best albums in the last 20 years.

    Hmmm.

It would seem according to Nelly that you are well qualified to write for the NME.

    :D

heh maybe, although I've only said it the once...maybe if I repeat it a few more times they'll give me a job

  5. The Roots-Phrenology is a great album. Also as I saw in Paris a couple of weeks back they are great live.

Stereophonics-I've been a big fan for a few years, and despite many good reviews I was extremely dissapointed by "J.E.E.P", and so was reluctent to buy "You Gotta Go There To Come Back", especially as I'd heard some bad things. It's certainly not their best album, it's a different sound, but worth a listen and worth the buy if you are looking for a summer cd and out of ideas as I have found out.

Don't mention Stereophonics!  They used to be my favorite band by a long way, Word Gets Around was, and still is, one of the best albums in the last 20 years.  Performance and Cocktails wasn't quite up to that standard but was still an excelent album.  Then along came JEEP... ****  I can't believe what's happened to them.

On a different subject is anyone going to the Leeds festival on the 22nd?  I'd rather be going to V but still can't wait to see some of the bands they have lined up
