  1. Any comments Mods. If not I intend to re-introduce it. ICBINF has become extremely boring without it. Who cares about what music is being listened to (875 posts) Let's have some fun!

But the music topic was made in March last year...meaning that the average number of posts in there is less than 2 per day.

  2. In one of the English newspapers today, The Sunday People, after criticising Dwight Yorke, Souness was quoted as saying: "I only want to have hard-working players at the club now"

It makes you wonder if Souness is implying that black players in general don't work hard.

    Please, just stop.

Why do you keep putting two posts where one would suffice?

  3. Yeah I mean they are practically hanging from the trees arent they?

What are you talking about? Cole did a job, cost us 7m saved us 20m and is now off to pastures new.

It was a successful relationship (for us more than him)

    Onward and Upward

Onwards and upwards to what? We have no money to replace him with.

£7 million could have bought many strikers, we didn't have to go for someone of Cole's age. I'm not denying Cole did the business for us, what I'm saying is that a club like ours can not afford to spend that kind of money on a player without expecting some form of return on them, it's the business side of things I'm thinking about rather than what happened on the pitch.

Edit: A bit off topic...but is this the campest picture of a footballer in action ever taken?

  4. Do you mean the time we came 6th and he got a paultry 7 goals?

He has cost us over £20m in wages, signing on fees and transfers and propbably numerous lost sponsorship deals.

I agree, I think he was a bad signing.

Yes, at the time we needed a striker...but did we really have to spend £7 million on a player that we wouldn't see a return on? It was a poor decision and we will pay for it now because we won't have any money to replace him.

People can try to justify it by saying he saved us £20 million by keeping us up...and he may well have done...but we could have spent that £7 million on a much younger player who could have done the same job.

  5. the hives are overated, they've had like 3 good songs period

listen to N*E*R*D, sheer class, and i normaly dont like that type of music

    The Hives = Overrated

    N*E*R*D = Class

Something's not right there. The Hives have had two brilliant albums in my opinion...well, 3 if you include the compilation...but that might be considered cheating.

  6. It must be something Souness thinks will work or he is going to try, there's no way we would go into this season with just three central midfielders (Ferguson, Tugay, Flitcroft) especially when you consider Tugay's age.

None of our other midfielders will be capable of playing central and I believe it was mentioned in the LET that it was something Souey had considered...I imagine it is something he will try early in the season.

Lets hope it works because, if Thompson could do that job well, I believe we would be in a position to play our 4 best midfielders.

  7. I've decided to post in here when almost everything has been said that needs to be said, so I'll just some up my own feelings on it:

I can fully understand why any Liverpool fan, or football fan for that matter, would choose to boycott The Sun. What I don't find acceptable is that Wayne Rooney's name is being dragged into it, that is where this whole vendetta starts to reflect badly on Liverpool. He is not the first Scouser to talk to The Sun, nor will he be the last, he just happens to be the most high profile for some time and his fame is being used be those who just want to open up old wounds.

  8. Hot Fuss by The Killers - Tremendous first album! cool.gif

Hmmm...there's about three good songs on there but there's a lot of filler tracks.

It's a shame because Somebody Told Me is a superb song, the rest don't have the same tempo though so I was very disappointed with it.

Actually 'Somebody Told Me' is my least favourite track on the album.

    Opinions eh? rolleyes.gifwink.gif

    Haha, opinions indeed.

CT: The Hives have been around for ages, keep up! wink.gif They are superb though, they've been one of my favourite bands for a while now...I'm not sure their new album will be as good as the last two but I live in hope.

  10. Apologies rover6...it was a bit early to be trying something light-hearted so soon after the game though. wink.gif

JBN: I agree with the last paragraph...in fact one player who reminds me of our Stead is Ibrahimovich...they're very similar players in my opinion, except Ibrahimovich has far more body strength at the moment which means he can contest the physical battles much better.

If Smith starts scoring goals for Man Utd however then he could take the shirt quite easily...actually forget the goals, he plays for Man Utd so that should be enough. Just ask Phil Neville.

  11. IE is the king of browsers. Its just that, like all monarchies, its nothing without its aides. Google toolbar is both convenient, and stops ALL pop-ups, and there are simple programs to plug IE's security features. I'm sure there is something packed into the hundreds-of-megabytes package from MS that puts it ahead of Mozilla - not even MS could fill millions of lines of code needlessly.

And before anyone jumps on my back, I know MS are a two-bit company with all the product quality of a third world sewage system, but when you take the time to actually take time and fix it yourself, some of their products are actually worthwhile having. IE is one.

    blink.gif

That's just utter nonsense. Microsoft do indeed make some good programs, but Internet Explorer is comfortably one of the worst. It has no features (tabbed browsing, pop-up blockers, safety features, download manager, skins....need I go on?), crashes more than any other browser, loads pages slower and is the most vulnerable to hacking.

Saying it is a good program because other companies have made programs to plug the leaks is daft.
