  1. Found a better one on the official euro 2004 site.  It's very similar to the one we used for the the premier league fantasy football.

    Here's a link Euro 2004 Fantasy Football

You have register but it only takes a minute

I have set up a league.  The name is BRFCS and the code to join it is 66704-12246.

Should be good if we can get a few to join.

This is waaaaaaaaaaaay better than the other one, it's basically a Euro 2004 version of the other one we all did.

Could one of the mods not pin this at the top for a while before the tournament starts? Would be good to get a few people in.

    Anyway, my team:

                   Barthez

    G. Neville  Andrade  Silvestre  Rui Jorge

          Rosicky   Gerrard   Lampard

           Kuranyi   Pauleta    Baros

    Subs: Zuberbühler, Gravesen, Štolcers, Stepanovs

  2. Who are the nutters who are voting the first option?

    Leicester City - 97 games 37 goals

    Manchester City - 182 games 41 goals

    Brighton & Hove Albion - 8 games 5 goals

    Luton Town - 15 games 1 goal

    Arsenal - 26 games 7 goals

That's a scoring ratio of a goal every four games (near enough). A lot of those were in lower divisions too.

There is nothing to suggest that last season wasn't a fluke, to label him a goalscorer after one good season out of 13 or so is insane. He was playing in a team that suited his style, an ugly style that involved playing alongside a big striker.

If he's anything more than 4th choice then we've just taken a step backwards.

  3. Does anyone else think that Jet's "Will you be my Woman" is one of the finest singles for many, many years? seems to me that's how rock music was and should be.

I think it's great, I bought the album off the back of that song and it's...well, utter rubbish. Great song though.

  4. I struggle to see how it can be said that without Andy Todd we would have gone down.If you look at his 11 appearances he made for the club from Jan 2004 onwards,we lost 7 of them(with two also being draws). In fact from October 2003(which was after his loan return from burnley) and until the end of the season,he made a total of 21 appearances and again we lost 13 of those games(with 3 draws and 5 wins).I believe it a stretch to say we would have gone down without Andy Todd.A better statement would be we almost went down with Andy Todd, who left us in our hour of need due to an ill advised response to bad news.I believe we will be fortunate indeed to recoup our investment in this fellow.

I agree...he only looked good because he managed to refrain from making Tiny and (early) Amo like mistakes. He's barely Premiership quality, we're better off without him and his ego.

  5. Just to remind people or inform if you missed my post yesterday that you can see Morten Gamst Pedersen in action for Norway against Wales on BBC2 Wales (Sky Digital channel 961) k.o. 6.00pm today.

Hopefully he doesn't have too good a game. We don't want more clubs coming in for him.

Maybe he was listening to you, he was rubbish.

Poor crossing (the one that hit the post was an attempted cross), poor passing, didn't supply any width, never took his man on...

But, it was an extremely poor game and he was no worse than any other of the 21 players on the pitch.

  6. The new Morrissey album is great, especially the opening line of the first song:

" America your head's too big, because America, your belly's too big"

Now if that doesn't make you want to buy it, I don't know what will.

  7. Oh please, why is it difficult to understand that players like Smith wants to stay at top level? The guy has yet to reach his prime, he's fighting for a place in the England squad and he's wanted by some top teams. He's said all along that he wants to play top division football, and when Leeds can't give him that then he has to leave. The board had told him he wouldn't have gotten a new contract anyway, even if the club had steered clear of relegation.

    Exactly.

I think the fact that he is looking to go abroad so it would make it easier to return to Leeds should they go up says something about him. It's very easy to be cynical about the situation...which is why a lot of people are criticising him.

  8. withstupid.gif

Yes he is a Leeds player, but he's also a Leeds fan. He is feeling just as upset as the people in the crowd were. Maybe an extra part of the upset for him was that he knew that relegation was going to force a choice on him, leave his hometown club or sacrifice his international ambitions.

    Grrrrrrrr...so angry at that! mad.gif

  9. Then you need to look at who was actually available - for me Reid from Forest was by far the best candidate - but £6m for a player untried at Premiership level  huh.gif Ultimately good left wingers cost a fortune (I think Chelsea got Duff on the cheap) - and even if we had the money who could he have reasonably bought to replace Duff ?

Andy Reid wouldn't have cost anywhere near that at the start of the season. There were still other players available though: McFadden, Etherington, Gray, Berger...all well within our budget.

I think he was quite naive to think that a right footed player on the left would work, there are very few players who can do it succesfully in the top leagues and those that can are usually world class players.

If you could guarantee that Souey would buy a left winger in the summer then I would be behind him too...however I think he will be too stubborn and will try people out of position again. sad.gif

  10. Souness on Radio Rovers...."we still have 6 games to go"

Doesn`t sound like anyone who is going to resign sad.gif

He stated that if Amo and Short were playing all season we wouldn`t be in this mess

Also stated its time for Stead to take a back seat

Say`s we will come out fighting!!!

Make of that what you will

That just makes it even worse. If Nissa had been playing all season we might not have been where we are. Sounds like Amo only made 2 mistakes today, not bad for the big useless sack of crap.

Drop Stead? For who? Cole? Yorke? Amoruso?

Just listening to the interview on Sky now. Don't worry lads, we should have had a penalty, not our fault we lost. Souey also just said Short and Amoruso handled their strikers as well as any team he has seen??????? What the hell?!?! It's Leeds for f***s sake, almost every team in the league has handled them better than we did today.

He doesn't even look the slightest bit angry or ashamed. We're screwed, well and truly screwed.

  11. Not only have we not got the bottle, we haven't got a bleeding clue. I thought we would stay up on the basis that there are three teams worse than us. Well there aren't. Wolves and Leicester maybe. Portsmouth and Leeds look likely to finish above us now.

I find it almost impossible to imagine us picking up more points than Porsmouth, Leeds and Man City.

  12. Yes, it is some "tiresome anti-Darkness rubbish". But I was under the impression that this board had a global audience and that this thread was about music - that's why i thought it was relevant. blink.gif

    Fair enough. wink.gif

The Darkness' album isn't great, I think I've listened to a grand total of 3 times. They are brilliant live though, the best band I've seen for entertainment.
