The LET are nothing other than the club stenographers. They have plainly said that he has been blocked from talking to the press.

There was press done with new signings but not the manager.

Make of that what you will.

Agreed. Jackson didn't have the inside scoop on anything in the last couple of days. He's pretty poor I'd say.

Makes Sharpe look a lot better by comparison.

  2. Centre mid options:

    Tronstad - very good imo

JRC -needed elsewhere on the park / gets injured

Garrett - not had a run of games playing deeper. He's got something but I'm not convinced. Would be a massive step down in quality from Wharton.

Ayari. - little experience /not our player

Buckley - currently injured and hasn't played much all season. Will take a while to get back up to speed.

The lack of cover from tronstad is alarming.

Fantastic stuff from the Orlando account. The ONLY positive from this mess is that it will hopefully shine a lot on these clowns and their running of the club.

It is this kind of spotlight and attention shown by the Orlando account, that we need in order to open a few more eyes.

Nah nobody will notice. They never do. Most people don't even know venkys still own us. This won't register on their radar.

I think we target Suhail. Get a number of us buying tickets Jack Walker upper tier - he sits every home game alongside Waggott in the Directors seats. We can very easily be within eye-line and earshot of him. He’s got away with being the owners representative for far too long.

This. Suhail is the one, venkys wouldn't notice.

He wants to work in the shadows. We shouldn't let him.

McFadzean also used to playing in a 3.

    I'd imagine we're switching to a 3-5-2

    Pears

    Hyam - McFadzean - Scott/O'Riordan

    Rankin-Costello - Tronstad

    Dolan - Szmodics - Sigurdsson

    Gallagher

A team thats hopefully good enough to get the 18+ points needed to not be relegated.

    Playing with 10 men?

It's a bold strategy cotton let's see if it pays off!

The Coventry guy until the end of the season makes decent sense we are crying out for some experience and able back up in this squad.

I don't love it or hate it.

It's cover till the end of the season. To me it indicates we will continue with a back 3/back 5.

Makes sense not to panic buy now and make 4 or 5 quality signings in the summer.

Assuming the AW money doesn't go into a big black hole (most likely scenario).

It's all well and good listing those players, but which of those can come and get the ball off the defenders in tight spaces like Wharton did?  JDTs style of play is heavily reliant on that, and as recently as Monday night their goal came from a Garrett mistake in a dangerous area.   You say Travis' doesn't suit JDTs style of play, but which of those 4 (assuming Tronstad is a mainstay now) is going to play alongside him to great effect?

JRC also had a couple of cameos in midfield before his injury and I'm not sure he has the discipline or know-how to play in a fairly exposed midfield.

As things stand we've lost two first team midfielders (one the best player in the team IMO and irreplaceable with the current crop), and we've brought in a relative unknown from Brighton who struggled at Coventry earlier in the season.  It's not good enough, and if we don't address it I'm expecting a real slog from now until May.

We had a good run earlier in the season with a cm of JRC and tronstad. Wouldn't mind that again but JRC is currently needed at right wing back or right cb in the current system and at right back in the 4-2-3-1.

If we are commiting to playing this new shape then a pacey right wing back would really help to allow JRC to play inside

  8. Ennis arrived unfit. Kept picking up niggling injuries and since he's been fit hasn't been favoured. Apart from a goal vs Walsall and a good cameo in the 2nd game of the season away at Rotherham he's been awful.

But... he cost us nothing. He's on a long contract but I'd imagine if we were willing to waive a transfer fee we could get him off the books to a Bolton. So it's not the worst signing ever, it's just clogging up the wage budget atm.

Telalovic - I just don't see it, he'll never make it here imo, he's playing above his level. He was a last minute punt when GB realised we needed another striker with no budget available. His positioning has improved but the games too quick for him and he lacks the technical ability. At least he tries, can't knock him for that.

if we get mcguire in I'd happily let both go and write it off as a couple of bad punts. Leonard is better than both imo and would be 3rd choice striker.

  9. £20 million guaranteed for Wharton to just start the conversation. That can be up front or installments.

Any less and I think we are selling ourselves short. Personally not as bothered about a cut of his next deal, I'd rather have an extra 5-7.5 million guaranteed and 5-10% of his next deal as opposed to 30-40% of his next deal.
