Saw Kick Ass on Wednesday. What an absolute joy.

Played Heavy Rain last night. It doesn't flow as I was expecting and when walking around feels very slow. I do want to get it to play out the story though.
For those that want the demo (its not directly up in the store)
Go Here and register.
Now (to save time) choose :-
• Short cigarette (117b)
• Origami bird
• Coffee shop C (it says "diner")
• 117h (tyre tracks).
You will then be given the code to download the demo from the playstation store.
See what you think. REMEMBER: Its not a game more of an interactive movie.
Read a review of this on ign and I'm intrigued but it says it takes a couple of hours to get going but it should be persisted with as it's great.

Condolences to John's family. Very sad.

What an awful thing to happen. RIP. Some of the reactions on here are disappointing. A lad's lost his life. Now's not the time for point scoring.

Awful news.

An absolute legend. Very sad news. RIP Sir Bobby.

Went to The Sparling on Garstang Road in Barton the other week. It's a gastropub with an astonishingly cheap weekday menu - Mon - Thursday 3 courses for 7.99. Delicious fresh prepared food that you'd be hard pushed to get for less than at least double that elsewhere.

The last paragraph is far more important than anything else he said in the article. He can moan all he likes about Ronaldo. Who cares? I'll put up with drivel like that if it ensures there's no 39th game.

Burnley fans show they do have a brain cell between them!
Pity our fans were never given the option to vote on the drummer boy!
Well done them. Incidentally this is related to their new singing area. IMO were there to be a singing area created, it would significantly improve the atmosphere at Ewood but only if it were to be accompanied by a drumming ban, otherwise it would be in vain.
-
Fair enough. Maybe its not a case of not having a drummer, just having a better one! Abbey, I'll keep my seat in JW upper but promise to initiate the chants from up there if you take over the drumming for a match and show us how it should be done!
I've made this point time and time again. It's not whether or not we need a better drummer, but simply a matter of physics. Sound takes time to get travel across the stands, so by the time he hears a chant at the corners of the stand and copies it, it's completely out of time. This will forever be the case no matter who drums.
And for those who moan that we moan, do you not understand anything we've said about his antics ruining the atmosphere. It will take some considerable time without him for people to learn how to chant again. We used to do it without him and we can do it again. Miracles won't happen overnight.
-
To all those who see that one game without drummer means get him back, I ask you this.
If a smack head goes on a programme to get off heroin and goes cold turkey they start to shiver and shake. Is the best way to help them to give them more heroin? Of course not.
The drummer is the musical and atmospheric equivalent of heroin to the BBE.
Just say no.

We don't really have many different songs... most of them are claps followed by 'Rovers' or a player's name. Failing that something aimed at the opposition or Bumley... There is also that one with a bit of a tune (usually sang after a goal) but that's unimagenative as the wording is simply 'der, der der der... etc maybe if words were put in to it...
As for the drummers, they tend to start these chants. Very rarely do I hear them joining in with one that was started elsewhere in the BBE or other part of the ground. The atmosphere from Rovers fans is always much better away from home with or without the drummers, much of the time it is poor at home and getting rid of the drummers will only make it worse I think.. BRING BACK TERRACING!
I see on here that they are quite unpopular but when the guy starts banging most people tend to join in... I think therefore that in general they may be liked... a poll that involved every Rovers supporter, not just the minority on here would give a more true picture.
Yet I've lost count of the number of times when a chant has been started in the BBE, only for it to be ruined by the drummers joining in. This is a simple matter of acoustics. By the time they hear it and react, because sound travels as a particular speed they will ALWAYS end up being out of time, especially when the chant it started in the corners. I've said this time and time again. Drums cannot, and will never, improve the atmosphere.

I blame seats and over stewarding , more than i blame the drummers for the lack of singing.I just think you sing better when your stood up.
For christ's sake will you please wake up! If you want the truth on this matter look at Stuwilky's and Abbey's posts. True, you can sing better when stood up, but it's not going to happen. But ANY attempt to create an atmosphere from the BBE fans has been destroyed, season after season, by his well-meaning yet untimately futile attempts to take matters into his own hands.

BBC says various papers reporting a tug of war between Newcastle and West Ham for his services.

According to the BBC's site, various papers are running stories that we are going to hijack his deal with Bolton. It's not over yet.

Painful. I got collered by Sky Sports News on my way to the 'club shop' at lunchtime and, before I had a chance to think (or to ask what the hell they wanted to talk to me about) I had a camera thrust in front of me and was asked my views on the 'Lucas situation'. I rambled my way through a few questions in a haze of incoherance and blind fear. I hoped there was nothing they could possibly use from the interview but they got their soundbyte.
I don't know if anyone else has been interviewed on TV before but it's amazing how that, as soon as a camera is trained on you, your mind mysteriously empties.

I nearly joined you Abbey. I swung my foot at our dining room wall but fortunately realised I was barefooted at the last split second and pulled out. I'd have spent xmas in a cast for sure.

Flying from Leeds Bradford at 6pm on Wednesday with Yorkshire Blue.

My cheque's been cashed today.

I'm a little surprised that there are 1000 fans who went to the two away games to date. That only leaves 1500 tickets for everyone else.
I didn't go to either game but, according to the ticket office when I went on 20th to drop off my application, they reckoned that I shouldn't have a problem getting tickets with my application getting in then. They better be right!!!
