Just got back. Fantastic night and genuinely touched by the reception Tony got at the end.
-
Preston. More local competition.
-
It's easy to deride Norwich but they have already sold 19,000 season tickets for next season.
...and they've got such a lot of local competition too.....
-
Can we get tickets on the day? I haven't got mine yet....
-
Booooooooooo
Altogether now "One greedy b*****d"
Is Robbie Savage playing?

When a thread discussing an upcoming testimonial for a legend who gave 35 years' service to our club sinks down to page 2 at the expense of comparitively irrelevant threads like 'Wayne Rooney - Role Model?' and 'Beckhams Balls' , it's easy to come to the conclusion that our great game is going to the dogs.
Looking forward to the game on the 17th.

2 points from the last 9 is just not good enough.
For what? Although the extra cash from finishing higher up the table would certainly come in handy, we fell over the finishing line for this season three games ago so the sooner we can put it to bed and look forward to a more fruitful campaign next season the better.

Concluding comments- 52,077 is a lot more than Villa Park can hold so FA vindicated.
Disagree. Fewer Arsenal fans would have got tickets but we'd have taken more of our supporters. Old Trafford would have had a higher attendance.
-
That was excellent, Sox.
Rovers 0 Arsenal 1
-
Rovers 0 Soton 1
I fear a similar result. We can't score to save our lives and we can't keep clean sheets in every game either.

Greed is killing this game . Is it any wonder people watch the game in the boozer ?
Balls to that. I'll be watching it in my living room and drinking home brew. That's how skint I am.
Well I'm too skint to afford Sky Sports. And my living room has skirting boards missing and needs a lick of paint.

I can't imagine not being in Cardiff and don't understand why any fan, especially an ST holder, would miss the game for reasons other than cost.
Thanks Paul. At someone points out a reason sadly lacking from the LET article.
I've spent thousands over the years following Rovers but my current circumstances (mortgage, kids, one income) mean that I won't be going to Cardiff for any other reason than cost. I simply do not have the money to go.
What I find even sadder is that if we got to the final I still wouldn't have the finances to go.

Gary Lineker. Ok, it's the European Cup Winners Cup Final but it's still a European Final. For a cup.
-
Lats time i was there it was pretty much all CUB with a few irish /english ales thrown in (tetleys and killkenny spring to mind)..
Last time I was there it was pretty much all Worthingtons......
As Chris will vouch, a truly great night out!! The CD is a lucky pub!!!

Can we please also stop applauding the opposition keeper as he runs to the Blackburn End nets either at the start of the game or start of the second half. The only thing it does is make him feel more at home. Applaud him after the game by all means. Today, the Leicester fans continually gave Brad stick whilst he was defending the Darwen End nets. Most of the Blackburn End gave their keeper polite applause.
But as Dale Arden said to Princess Aura when she said she would honour her wedding vows and not sink to the level of the evil Ming the Merciless, "That's what makes us better than you."
You can learn a lot from Flash..

Apparently Robbie Savage told John Toshack that he'd only be willing to play for Wales in future if games were held at The Racecourse Ground, Wrexham - where he would be closer to his sick parents....
That's the shortest post you've ever made.

Two questions:
1. Who is the dolt, Philip Cornhole @ F365?
'while rovers' look at best another Southampton.' and
'Both Blackburn and ....... were lucky on Sunday......'
save your time-don't read the rest.
what a prat.
I gave up on Football 365 years ago. Just another set of journos incapable of looking beyond the 'big three' (plus Spurs too, as it's a site set up by Danny Kelly). And they refer to Man U as 'Man Yoo'. Hilarious!

I long ago got fed up with being ripped off with replica shirts. Why the hell should I pay silly money for an overpriced poorly made nylon T shirt?
They're only £11 in the shop now.

Chim Chimminey, Chim Chimminey, Chim Chim Cheroo....

I'm with Bryan. What started out as a great thread full of banter has now degenerated in something a whole lot sadder.
-
there's more spoke from rovers fans about burnley than any positives on blackburn, that for me speaks volumes
I refer the honourable gentleman to the reply I gave some moments ago.

I feel since 5 years ago there has grown a mutial respect in many quarters between supporters of both clubs, but realise that the childish insults I often read on here are becuase we are a club heading in the right direction and that appears to bring out a childish fear in some people!
What you don't seem to understand is that, since the high of the 5-0 win, automatic promotion to the premiership, winning the Worthington Cup in the first season back then and qualifying automatically for Europe in the second (fantastic achievements I’m sure you’ll agree) our third season saw a marked decline in our fortunes resulting in the state of the club which Mark Hughes found it in this season.
But now Hughesy is turning around our fortunes - we are seeing a steady improvement in our results, a climb up the table, a good cup run, and we have beaten our local rivals, scoring the only two goals that our defensively negative rivals conceeded in the campaign.
So you may be ‘on the up’, but so are we and you haven’t addressed the seemingly insurmountable task facing your manager to get your side of getting out of your division.
Long may our progress continue.

whilst the crowd is conditioned to react the the beat of a drum they'll continue to do so and the drummers will remain necessary.
What absolute twaddle. It's like saying that so long as a child has stabalisers on its bike it can't cycle on two wheels, so best keep them. Why not just get rid of them and see how the atmosphere improves. There may be a lull as the crowd adapts but they'll soon be cycling away no probs.
Try sitting at the back of the BBE towards the JWS. I'm sick to death of chants (and practically every football chant can be drummed to) being destroyed by the drummer, who doesn't understand that sound travels at a set speed. By the time he hears the chants near us, starts beating his bloody drum and the sound gets back it's invariably half a beat out and the chant is destoyed. THAT'S WHY THERE'S NO ATMOSPHERE!!!!

I'd give Andrew Cole, Worthington Cup winner, a good reception, regardless of the events of the past few days. One of our best players who IMO should never have left the club.

Did you find it hard to get your head around it in 1984 when they won the European Cup?
Well done Liverpool.
