good secound half performance for McEveley i have always liked him since the united game, hope he kkeps his place for sunday.
I'm hoping for a return to the usual back four. He looked out of his depth in the first half.

Has anyone else who has sent the forms in enclosed a cheque / other payment? I've sent ours in with a cheque, hopefully this will be OK
I have enclosed a cheque but forgot an SAE, which I remembered I'd used when making a written application for Dingle tickets a few years ago......

The result was better than the performance
I couldn't agree less.

I generally enjoy all away trips and find most of the shortcomings of away grounds add a certain character. I must admit though I was less than impressed at White Hart Lane under Mr Hodge Podge's reign when they closed the upper tier bar after kick off and sent the staff home, leaving dry at half time whilst we could see the Spuds fans drinking along the stand.

Liverpool 2 Rovers 1

6 of us staying there as well, wednesday and thursday night, got both nights for £40 each. Doesn't look to good! It'll do for our purposes though! How many of you goin?
Just the two of us.
2 more staying at the quentin arrive, dont look at the pictures
of the place on trip advisor.
I already have and it looks 'acceptable' on the website, which given that they're publicity photos worries me. It can't be as bad as the place I booked into in New Delhi back in March. I nearly cried.

Staying for two nights in Amsterdam at the bizarrely named 'The Quentin Arrive Amsterdam' near the station. Twin room only 49 euros a night. Should be lovely.

sorry mate...you got it wrong; me, Jordan and the rest of us you were talking to are Rovers supporters
and btw...it was no way 46 away supporters in darwen end..I would say between 20 and 30
You're wrong - I counted 40+ myself.

Matty Holmes
I'd second that as the worst close-season transfer activity. Champions League football on offer to attract the best talent in football (when the Champions League was still the exclusive reserve of the champions) and that's who we got. Jack Walker's one great mistake.

Don't know if anyone else has picked this up and mentioned it elsewhere from the BBC's football rumour page;
"Shefki Kuqi's move from Blackburn to Crystal Palace nearly fell through after his registration forms were accidentally faxed through to a chip shop rather than the Football League, as the numbers were similar (People)."

A lot of tripe being spouted on here. Away point is never bad in the prem.
Just got back and you're spot on there.

I'm having no joy on the away travel section of the messageboard. Does anyone know of an away-friendly pub near the ground?

Oh what a terrible game that was. We had about 70 shots on goal and Jason Kearton played out of his skin!!
But that's not top flight football......

We thrashed Wolves a few seasons ago on the opening day of the season. We were humiliated by West Ham on the opening day last season. Hardly indicators of what was to come. Patience.

I'm sure the formula last season was done over 3 years.
3 x £31.49
2 x £45.00
Works out that we only pay a little more. What it fails to observe is that fact that we would have to buy a shirt in the 4th season where other teams would still be using their existing shirt. So the formula should read:
4 x £31.49 (our price)
2 x £39.99 (liverpools shirt price)
which means we are paying out and extra £45 over the 4 seasons. Doesn't seem like a cheap shirt now does it
Or you could just wait until October as I did last season then get the shirts half price. I'm not prepared to pay full price for a home shirt that lasts one season, but would be for one that lasts two.

I think some people are being very harsh on our away kits...granted we've had some uninspiring ones, but on the whole I've liked them. In fact...I think it's only recently that they've gone poor, the HSA sponsored ones were especially dull.
This one is my particular favourite from the past(best picture I could find):
I was also a fan of this...although not the other yellow one, which I won't offend younger viewers with by posting.
They are possibly the two worst Blackburn kits I have ever seen - cheap, garish and utterly, utterly tasteless.
-
I've never had a single problem with ANY of the kits I have bought for myself over the last twelve years - nothing has ever remotely looked like peeling off and I've washed kits over and over.
My kids have 12/18 months Lonsdale home and away shirts from the first season with the manufacturer and all the badges are plastic and starting to peel off but they have been washed so many times I could hardly expect anything else.

This one shocked me 10 years ago...what happended to the vertical stripes of Sheffield United in 1995-96?

Great site, thanks for the link
Great site. Just noticed we now share sponsorship with Leeds United.

Hardly a crime, given our recent attempts from the spot.
