  1. I don't know what upsets me most - one of our own in another teams colours (though pleased for him he seems to be doing well) or the gaping hole in our midfield caused by the sale of Wharton and loan of Travis.

We are already in trouble (without wishing to tempt fate) an injury to Tronsdat would be almost impossible to recover from. I wonder what the lad from Crewe is like in midfield 🤔

Always though that Wharton lacked the engine and pace to be a top player- could be wrong.  He has such a lazy demeanour though,  there's absolutely no urgency in anything he does. Drives me mad. Whilst I enjoyed seeing him in a Rovers shirt if I was looking at centre mids he'd def not tick enough boxes to spend £22 million on.

Though I do agree his demeanor isn't always great - neither was Duff's - always looked knackered until it mattered. He does lack pace - but so did Tugay - and he wasn't too bad. I think he will do ok at Palace - he has enough players with pace to make up for his one big failing. Also - as he gets more experienced - so will his positioning - which will help.

I am excited to see what he can do - while also deeply disappointed for him not to be doing it for Rovers. Sky commentators seem to rate him - never heard Rovers mentioned as much since he Joined Palace.

There's a few variants of the name McGuire........McGwire, McGwyre, McQuire, for instance, and, most commonly, Maguire

It wouldn't be surprising if they misspelt it on the form but it would be typical of the low calibre people at Ewood

It is amazing - after last season you would have thought everything would have two sets of eyes on it. You have to think it has been deliberate - e.g. last minute owners say we can't pay a loan fee - what do we do, we have verbal agreements with player and his club - only option is to mess up paperwork again to prevent it going through. Maybe it comes under conspiracy - but given recent revelations could be plausible.

Surely Gregg has no choice but to resign if the Dunc deal does not go through. You cannot come out in the press a year ago and say you take full responsibility and new measures are in place to ensure that doesn't happen again...and then a year later the same thing happens again. This year is even worse as we actually announced the signing.

Talk of of a pre-contract being done if it doesn't get ratified now. That seems a long way off though with the very real prospect that we may be in league 1 next season.

All depends on whether the issue was under his control. The change from purchase to loan was very late - so difficult to say if the owners threw in a last minute curve ball.

I would say it might make his position untenable - but that would be his decision - and those with a mortgage etc  will understand why he may decide to stay.

Interesting how JDT has changed his response to ask Steve and Suhail, it was ask Greg previously. Suggests it's a little different this time, fuck knows what though.

Rumour on transfer deadline day was that Suhail had pulled any spending of the Wharton money - this may tie in

It's a nothing story. Really really poorly managed. Knowing full well the reaction it would have, its baffling the club handled it this way and didn't let people know through official channels that JDT wouldn't be talking. Jackson's wording hasn't helped things either.

    No plans on JDT leaving.

So whats the full story - why didn't he attend ? I could imagine a scenario where he said he wanted to integrate the new players asap - and was focusing on training - but why not say that ?

Disgusting to see the comments of some of those pro-Venky braindead buffoons on there. Terrific transfer window? Ungrateful JDT? Mind-boggling.

Given our owners - unlike others - I think Broughton has worked miracles. I doubted it at the time - but you have to wonder whether the owners did stop some of the Wharton money being spent at the last minute. The reasons could be genuine - i.e. the upcoming court case - however if they have stopped money - the last minute nature of everything they seem to do is disgraceful. Broughton should have been given a budget from the start of the window (taking everything into consideration. Nobody can work in such circumstances - and in the future (esp after the O'Brien farce) we will find that other clubs won't entertain bids from us, as there will be no guarantee we will complete the deal.

I would trust what the media report more than I trust how Rovers will spin it, and that really is saying something.

Too much smoke for there to be no fire.

    We have form.

This morning media report Venkys has stopped all transfers, then that the Wharton deal was off. Our striker either came across without a deal signed, we changed our mind when he was in mid air ???

As well as Rovers potentially playing games - you also have agents playing games - all combined with so called ITKers being picked up by various media outlets.

At the moment I am not certain where the fire is - or if the smoke isn't just an ITKer on their vape 🤣

Let's imagine that Rovers do finish this window and these next 8 hours in a positive fashion we don't anticipate - Maguire signs, other (good) money signings too, sensible loans (in and out).

That does not excuse the fact that - YET AGAIN - Rovers have had their reputation dragged through the mud due to obvious incompetence from the very top. Laughing stock, unreliable, unprofessional, incompetent from top to bottom, clown owners and senior management.

Signing some players will not erase that. How much for 5,000 tennis balls?

I think we need to wait for the dust to settle before making judgements. There has been lots of rubbish on the media - some may prove true - but personally will wait to see what the reality was.

None of that makes any sense.

We wanted him, agreed fee with his club, told him not to travel because of a snag, he travelled anyway, snag didn’t happen, he got here.

    Now don’t want him?

What is this nonsense? Is he on the naughty step for travelling when we told him not to?

I thought he was mid air when we hit snag with Palace ?

I get a couple of things from this...

    - Obviously, we can spend money - but not without this sale, which figures.

    - The saddest thing of all to me, is that Adam clearly must have stalled on signing the paperwork - the poor kid doesn't want to go 😢

Or his agent wasn't happy with terms being offered ? Let's be honest - we don't know.

Would you want to come to Rovers, if originally being treated like this?

Bad smells always seem to follow Venkeys when connected with us.

They can’t get anything right and just drag our name through mud all the time.

I wish they would just F️k off. They are an embarrassment to us.

All depends on what the truth is - if he and his agent have known all along the deal relied on selling  Wharton, and we have just kept them in the loop - not ideal, but understandable. However if some of the more worrying reports are true about Venkys pulling all deals - I wouldn't blame any player for not joining is - or for that matter wanting to stay. It is going to be an interesting day (let's hope for the right reasons)
