  1. O'Sullivan subbed again at Rochdale. This time after about 60 odd minutes. Questions being asked on their board about his fitness. Rochdale lost 0-1.

I watched that game on TV O'Sullivan was very poor and looked off the pace from the start and no surprise he was subbed. He offered very little which was disappointing as I had looked forward to seeing him in live action.

  2. As I haven't seen similar on the Rovers site here goes ................ and may my God forgive me:

Monday’s U21 Premier League Cup Third Round tie between Burnley and Blackburn Rovers is being played behind closed doors. Kick-off for this game is 1pm.

Dingles via their Site are doing a full match FREEVIEW later on Monday.

  3. Sad to hear that Any Cole has been so ill and still has a long way to go to full recovery http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/13944707.Former_Blackburn_Rovers_and_Manchester_United_striker_suffering_from_kidney_failure/?ref=mac

great goalscorer, he was brilliant for us in his 1st couple of years(until his lazy troublemaking mate signed) playing alongside Jansen

Only read about Andy Cole today and hope he mends well and soon.

  4. Here you go, full stats:

Looks like a strong squad to me.

Many many thanks. A lot of info there. Played 3 games in NY and 1 in LA.

Strong squad with many of the players I remember from that era plus others less well known but remembered like Chris Sims. Alan Bradshaw (a Blackburn lad), Reg Blore and George Jones.

  5. In 1962 the US International Soccer League initiated an annual 'American Challenge Cup' and Rovers played in the 1964 edition. I've found out just a little bit about how we got on in Section 1 of the tournament. Dukla Prague, the returning cup holders, won it again.

Does anyone have more detailed information like who was in the Rovers squad that travelled, where they played, match results and scorers ...... I'm interested as it was just after I had started watching Rovers and I'd never even heard of the Tournament before today!

  6. A great read and always a good blog. Nice to read the comment from Kevin Stonehouse.

I vividly remember taking my Dad to the 1-1 FA Cup game at Ewood v Villa in 1980. As a treat we sat right at the back of the Nuttall St stand with the windows behind us with most of the glass broken. It gave us a good view down on the Villa hordes arriving. What Rovers fans were doing cannot be repeated here ^_^

A very good tribute in the LT:

  7. I only caught up with the last days play with an hour or so to go. It was a bit of a shock to see the scorecard and that England were in with a chance. Night falls quickly in the ME not helped by Pakistan having a 3 minute conference between overs and taking ages to bowl an over - mind you we would have done the same. Looking forward to the next game.

  8. Great for batting but what a bore so far. There is no one there to watch the grass trying to grow, the attendance is expected to increase a lot today and tomorrow when the millions of Pakistanis living and working locally are on a 2 day holiday.

  9. This MB needs a good conspiracy theory to liven it up. A game coming up after a 2 week break and we've just had a Q&A and it's still quiet.

Must be a lot on holiday ........... or banned in the ongoing MB cleansing process ....... ooops ...... another conspiracy theory. Boredom does that

  10. I've just watched episodes 1 & 2 of The Last Kingdom, based on the The Saxon Stories by Bernard Cornwell. Think Game of Thrones without the Dragons or silly magic but based on fact with a dose of fiction. Epic and excellent if you like historical drama spiced up. I believe it reaches BBC 2 on 22nd October. Thoroughly recommended.

  11. Gaz has stayed in tonight with a 6 pack of Special Brew, a live salmon as a snack and a box set of Bear Grylls dvds. I expect him on the touchline tomorrow night in nothing but a gym vest and a pair of combat pants, sporting an SAS tattoo. Lose if you dare he will scream !

Ahhh...........a night on Tramp Juice, fond memories

  12. Shaw and Gaz both getting a lot of mileage out of us being in an embargo to cover up their flaws.

FFP, the transfer window running into the season causing disruption, the lack of Hawkeye (or whatever it's called), bad referees and assistants, general bad luck and probably now just waiting for the bad weather to kick in. If there isn't an excuse he will just make one up.

I said a week or so ago somewhere on the MB that with the fixtures we have we could be relegated in all but fact come the end of October with Bowyer in charge - and it's getting worse by the match. We need a major turn around in getting very good results starting tomorrow v QPR. I doubt it I'm sorry to say.
