  1. What a great article

Teams fear us, the press fear us, why?

Because we are a small Northern Club in an unfashionable small town part of the North and we are capable of riling the likes of Arsenal Man U and more importantly precious Chelsea.

The press are finding it difficult to accept that a Premiership team is rolling back around 10 years and mixing it up to compete in a increasingly soft league. What the same press don't realise is if all Premiership teams had the worlds most skillful players and no one tackled it would be like watching Serie A and no one would want to watch it because the games are boring.

There is a hell of a lot more Premiership players than Christiano Step Over Sally Ronaldo, Wayne Caveboy Rooney, Arjen Rolling around in agony Robben and Thierry VaVaVoom Henry.

Also has anyone notced the storm caused by the press with regards to Roy Keane, this wouldn't have been made such a big deal a few years back its just that his type of player doesn't fit the Premiership image anymore.

  2. You drunk seggie?

    Whoops

I wasn't then but now that I am I will attempt to justyfy

Spurs are the sort of team that will play their best team in this cup no matter what from the off. As much as I don't like them I think their naff football and overrated players will do well against the likes of West Brom reserves. Naturally being the optimist I am I believe Rovers will also field strong teams making them my second pick to take the trophey but I think like last year we will get knocked out by the likes of Blackpool (I said I was drunk but not drunk enough to say Burnley)

Truth is I couldn't think of a team at the time so I picked a naff no hoper Big Club that wasn't Birmingham

  3. We all know we have a reputation to rival Millwall and the late great Wimbledon FC but does this have a negative effect on the team.

On one hand we have the press and opposing teams screaming thugs, bully boys etc and with the Bellamy signing we have yet another Bad boy. The image does not appear great to the club and some may see this as a stumbling block to buy season tickets as thats not how they want to see the game played.

On the other hand we have the positive effect and this is the side I subscribe to, sometime its not pretty and sometimes it can go OTT but a group of professional footballers who are going about their business to get their wages correctly, a desire to win.

Rightly or wrongly we have been labled I personally want to see Rovers win at all costs, even if we are slated in the press for our tactics. The occaisional red card doesn't bother me one bit unless its for petulance after all I want to see comitmant from the team I fork out a small fortune to go see week in week out.

  4. I got Shearer for my Second/Third season he was also my assisntant manager up until last season.

The Unthinkable happened last night after a poor run of results I was sacked as manager of Blackburn Rovers after straight championships and two Uefa Cups 4 straight league cups and FA Cups This is the thanks I get.

I HOPE THEY GO DOWN laugh.gif

  5. Just finished my 12th season as Rovers supporter.

Never been to a game though.

Next time you watch Rovers on the telly why not get a fan switch it on full and pour water over your head so you can simulate our lovely Lancashire Weather!!!!!

All this should be done whilst wearing a T Shirt and shorts

  6. My best on FM with Rovers in my first season is 3rd. For a cheap DC I'd suggest either Naldo or Cesare Bovo. Naldo would be the cheaper one (if no one else has signed him already).

Shall have a look at those when I get home tonight. Hopefully if I have another good season they'll start trusting me with a bit more money. They're giving me around 90/100% of revenue from transfers to spend- but don't really want to sell any of my valuable players. Alan Smiths available for just under 5m- but don't wanna sell one of my stars so I can afford him. Seems silly that I start with the club in 2m of debt- and they give me 3.3m budget, a year later with the club having 14m in the bank- they give me next to nothing. Well at least its a challenge.

    324118[/snapback]

Mohammed Zidan is a decent striker also would reccomend LAbinot Harbuzi and Jeremy Menez for the future, the latter has won world player of the year twice whilst playing for the Rovers!!!!!

As for my first season I escaped relegation on the last day but I won the League Cup!!!!

To win things especially with smaller clubs plan a season ahead!!!!

  7. I've had to sell quite a few players at the start of the game cause they're earning more than they should be for how good they are. Jansen (25k), Flitcroft (20k), Emerton (20k), Gray (10k), Johansson (10k) and a few of the reserves have been cleared out. Still leaves me a few very high earners (Savage 48k FFS!). Anyone else bought Derek Riordan from Hibs? Can get him for about 325k- and he's looking very good for me.

Wouldn't worry too much about the wage bill at Rovers or any Prem club for a few years yet. Best tip I can give anyone sign players on Bosmans they are great you can either sign a superstar for nowt who you intend to play or sign a primadonna who will be out the door by Christmas for a fee (I signed one ended up selling for £34m).

I'm running English league down to National Conference, Italian A + B, and Spanish 1 + 2 on mine (P4 3.0ghz 1024Ram) and it absolutely flys.

As for this on average takes about a week or two for a season to be completed sad.gif

At the moment I'm having to juggle my time between work, girlfriend, football manager and sleep. At the moment its the sleep that I'm cutting down on- but the girlfriend has been warned. smile.gif

I took a week off work - Evereyone was happy

  8. Cant say Im too upset, I questioned the move when he signed due to lack of proven quality, however I was proved worng over a 6 month period where Stead became a legend which I will be eternally greatful for, but proven quality does it all the time every season, not over 6 months in a poor team to keep them up. Stead didn't make the grade last season sadly and was sold by a guy who isn't affraid of big decisions. I wish Stead all the best but he is not Premiership quality and I would love to be absoloutly wrong about this like many other Rovers fans but I'll eat my cat if he scores 10 prem goals next season.

  10. Just in 2017 season (I had no Sky and Net connection for 3 months/need girlfriend/life) currently playing as Rovers Manager and third in Prem.

Im using a 3 5 2 attacking tactic using Wingbacks and a player behind the two strikers (I strongly reccomend you get Adu for this)

With this tactic I managed to pull away from the dead in my first season and keep my job and win the league in the second season with Rovers and 6 more 3 FA cups 5 League cups 2 UEFA cups and I ve won the Champions league 4 times over two stints as Rovers Manager.

Ive won League and cup and UEFA cup with Barca in spain and won League, Champions League and Italian cup with Inter.

Ive also won a World Cup and two Euro Champs with England and a Copa America with Argentina.

Biggest mistake I made was signing Adu for 10million from Rovers when I was with Inter Ive just coughed up a cool 41m to get him back.

If you are going to play over a time period like I have get Youth players and lots of them most turn out to be crap but you do find the odd Gem.

    Won 10 Leagues

    Won 32 Cups

    Games played 816

    Games Won 499

    games drawn 183

    games lost 134

    scored 1631 (2.0 per game)

    Conceded 739(0.9 per game)

    Goal Diff 892

And The worst stat of all

    Ive been playing

    11 Days 16 hours 48 minutes

  11. well well... champions we are................

(how many times did they play "we are the champions at ewood last nite????")

I heard a rumour that we are going to sign ONE single player who will improve are team and be the man to unlock those defences next season..

A player who who be England captain one day, a world beater, a player that will set up 20, 30, 40 goals for Shearer next year...........

    Matthew Holmes anyone?

  12. Apparently according to my sources Robbie Can't take a Pen Baggio is to sign for Rovers if we win the League. We have to hope to God he signs then we will win the European Cup and show Man Ure how to do it.

10 years from now we will be the worlds most domminant footy team with world cup winners playing for us.

  13. Amusing too see that The Rasmus and 28p were bottled off stage at the Reading festival yesterday.

    By 28p I assume you mean 50Cent!!

I had to endure an hour of him at Leeds because I was trying to get a Decent place for GreenDay(Who Were awesome) but this guy with his songs that sound the same and fireworks to make it sound like guns where going off because thats what happens 'IN DA HOOD' was perhaps the worst thing I have ever been witness to outside of Ewood Park!!!

However the most positive thing was all the praise I got for Being a Rovers fan (I wore the shirt on Saturday) and how unlucky we were was the highlight of the festival tinykit.giftinykit.giftinykit.giftinykit.gif

Another top highlight was placing a mates Burnley shirt into a bag of pure urine (The Look on his Face was priceless)

  14. To Me it has to be Between Tim Flowers and Brad Friedal. Reason being they are the reason why we have won 2 Trophys in the last 10 years. First we have the Fantastic V.E Day performance From Tim and then we had The Worthington Cup Final performance from Brad.

Leaves me with a problem so how can I split them They have both been consistent performers for Rovers and Both have been True professionals so does it come down to the fact that Tim Flowers couldn't kick the ball without it going out for a throw in.

Tim Flowers is and was my all time Rovers hero in fact I still possess My printed Tim Flowers Keeper Top because I can't bear to get rid of it. Thing is Brad has proved himself on the BIGGEST stage of them all in the World Cup.

I can't split them for anything so we have to look at the teams in front of them Tim had argubly the greatest Rovers team ever in front of him. Brad has had all sorts of misfits play in front of him and kept the most clean sheets in the Premiership when we finnished 6th

So I have to go for Big Brad Friedal with Tim on the Bench pushing hard for his place
