  1. Indeed, the takeoevr should be done ASAP if Leeds are to have any hope of survival. It does look like the consortium is the last hope for Leeds to avoid administration/liquidation. If the takeover was completed, what would happen to the debts ?. Would an agreement with the creditors to pay a certain % of the £100m+ debts have to be in place before it can take place ?. And where would the money used to buy Leeds go ?.
  2. What do you mean ?. Djimi Traore and Salif Diao are world class ! . Although Ian St. John has said some tw_ttish things about Blackburn recently, the article does suggest that he did OK with his managerial career given the circumstances. Houllier has blown loads of cash on rubbish, and has in effect made the squad less impressive than Roy Evans' squad.
  3. I don't know if that's aimed at me, but please read my last couple of posts again.
  4. That theory sometimes works, but then the USSR was supposed to a step towards a stateless Communist society i.e. you have to be careful about these things. The severance pay might prohibit a sacking during the season as well.
  5. Good lord !!! I need to lie down after that last post of yours Jan2 .
  6. Ex-Bradford City chairman Geoffrey Richmond is involved in this consortium. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1....821.stm So that'll be administration then.
  7. Keep Souness until the end of the season. Then see if someone better is willing to come.
  8. From a layman's view, you'd be mental to buy Leeds with their debts, and the needs of the playing/coaching side of things. I have a feeling it'll be bad news for Leeds at 5pm, and the consortium that is considering to buy the club might be close to pulling out altogether.
  9. This could be a nasty equation: No news about the consortium today + a statement at 5pm about Leeds' future = Administration ??. Thank goodness I'm not a Leeds fan at this moment.
  10. In other words, Leeds' shares have been suspended so they don't go up or down due to any leaks about this announcement. Journalists, are not willing to speculate, as that might also influence the shares. No-one wants to say what is happening either way until it is the catagorical truth for these reasons. Have I got that right ?.
  11. No idea, but it sounds interesting, if very ominous to a non-economic mind.
  12. I can't help feeling that Leeds will be given deadlines until someone with enough money to at least lessen the debts comes and buys the club. Of course, by not going into administration now, they may be only postponing it, and then having 10 points less if/when they get relegated. It's risky what they seem to be doing, but it may work.
  13. I wouldn't trust that news. You know what Italian manufacturing standards are like . Who are you talking about anyway ?.
  14. Well he has a decent track record in keeping Oldham in business in the second division, and has done enough for Simon Jordan not to sack him yet. He may be more of a long term replacement, but he seems to be doing pretty well at the moment. I can't think of anyone else who could be remotely available who is good enough. Glenn Hoddle ?, Howard Wilkinson ?. It could be a lot worse than Dowie.
  15. How dare Souness get a win, he's rubbish, Souness out this second. We will be relegated if he stays. :'> With the bottom 4 all losing, it's given us some breathing space for now. If he is to go, he should leave at the end of the season, and when someone better is available, like Iain Dowie for example.
  16. Wasn't the guy who died in Top Gun called Goose ?. And wasn't he the bloke who was in ER for a while ?. Both geese and swans are the townies of the bird world-make lots of noise, act aggressively in gangs, and like to try and scare people.
  17. By the way, Tiger sharks are supposed to be one of the most aggressive types of shark, and eat Albertrosses. So swans, geese and ducks should be a piece of p_ss. Don't know about a sharktiger though, it sounds like a thing of Ian Brown's imagination to me. All these are a load of jessies when you consider the scariest shark ever-Megalodon.
  18. Sounds like a Badly Drawn Boy Video.
  19. Could be worse, you could meet an ancestor.
  20. Geese are like David Batty, small, tenacious and bad tempered, but swans are more like Tiny Taylor by comparasion-tall gangly and not so aggressive.
  21. The way things are going for Leeds, they'd have to mortgage Old Kent Road, and will end up picking a 'Go to Jail' card on chance, without being able to pay the fine.
  22. Boo oh well if you want to play sensibly Birch's formula to revive ailing Leeds I'm curious now, as to whether Parsnip soup does make you fart now. But to get on the topic of Leeds, the failure to sell Robinson has really stuffed Leeds if they go down. Take away the £20m or so in Sky money, and then you could probably add £20m of debt to the figure. Personally, I can't see how Leeds can avoid administartion since wages have been deffered and not cut, and they're running out of players other teams want. If they did go into administration what would happen to the debts ?. Would they be cut/removed, or would they still have to divvy up the £100m+ to their creditors ?.
  23. I'll agree, if only because you're a moderator . Just let me do my thing on the 'Burnley on the edge of a cliff' thread, if that's OK. Right now, I'm in the kind of mood where I'd probably decide to post some typed free-form jazz vocals on the AGM thread .
