On a side note to the VAR debate I am catching up with Saturdays FA Cup MOTD and Christ on a bike Tae amount of annoying commentators did my head in. The shrill and tinnitus inducing Robyn Cowen and Vicki Sparkd, Jonathan Pearce's excitable squeak and Alistair Mann's coma inducing banal style. The z team of the commentary barrel. My ears are ringing. ?

VAR is killing what little interest I still have in live football. If I want to watch a sanitised event I will watch the wife bleaching cloths

For me Jimmy Armfield will always be once of the voices of BBC 5. He was always on as I journeyed home from home and away games

The game is already dying as a spectator sport due to cash. VAR will just make it even more distasteful.

I like the idea that the game is the same at Old Trafford and Pleasington.
First it was 4th officials to keep the childish managers in check, then it was goal line technology and now it's going to be bitching for replay reviews every 25 seconds.
Let's just cut the bull and stop calling it a sport, at the top level. It's just a grubby race for money and a tediously dull one at that given the atrocious dross served up by the premier league.

Agreed. The premier league and fa could introduce goal line technology at all grounds in the top 8 divisions without making a dent on their TV pigs troff
