  1. Great 3 and a half seasons with us I think. We progressed to steadily move away from the bottom half. Brought in a couple of world class players. However, I feel the rather high position we finished this season kind of hid the poor un-correctable performances and mistake. Lots of our shortcomings on the pitch were repeated over and over again. Maybe change is good for Sparky and for Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

He left us in a better position than when he joined us, just as Graeme Souness had done. How many clubs can say that when they change managers?

    Not many.

    Thank you Mark.

  2. Alot of the papers are mentioning that Hughes will take over Man City. I would be gutted if he left us for a laughing joke of a club like Newcastle, Man City, etc...I could live with a STEP UP to the Big 4.

If we lose him, it will only be because we just dont have any money to spend otherwise the structure at Blackburn Rovers is much more stable, and sound than at almost every club in the PL outside the Top 4. Only thing missing is investment.

  3. Oh well, its becoming a comedy of buy a striker, build up his reputation and if does well ship him out at the end of the season. First Bellamy, then this guy, and surely the guy after him. The fact that being a striker you are in the eye more than in other positions as your goals and performances are more note-worthy means that this will be a perrenial problem for someone like us...

  4. 6 million would be a joke. In my eyes he is easily worth double figures, 10 million pounds and Im sure both United and Chelsea could afford it if they really want it, but the main reason any of the big teams will be after him is that they see him as a "cheaper" alternative in the striker position, and Im sure they value him far less than the 10 million we would be.

Id literally cry if we sold him for 6 million as its NOTHING for the guy who scored 24 goals and was second Premiership top scorer.

  5. He has virtually pimped himself out whilst still playing for us. Yes its honest and he knows this summers his last chance of moving to a big club. He doesnt owe us anything, his goals have been more than enough. Id like it if he stayed but I think he would only leave for a CL team. Expect cheeky bids from Man Utd and Chelsea in the tune of 5-6 million.

  6. Papers say that José has asked the board to sign Benni, as he will also fall into the new Chelsea policy of not paying too much money.

No smoke without fire I think and all the denials in the world wont change the reports from going away.

I hope IF we do sell him, its for double figures and we buy TWO top quality strikers and one of them is Bellamy.

  7. How quickly his tune changed...Suddenly he has no repaid us (which he probably in reality has) and he misses CL football...Another summer of HELL to endure. What are the odds on losing him and resigning Bellamy...Haha.

The problem is we have seen this happen too many times. Even if we sell him for 10 million, its not like we will use the money we had "already" set aside for transfers, and then this money but we will probably only use this and we will probably only buy 1 striker to replace him rather than STRENGTHEN the team by another one too, which would probably have been the case anyway (I mean we would have signed an extra striker) had Benni stayed.

Thats the disappointment of it all.

If there are no clauses then nothing short of 10 million pounds should be enough for him. Dammit. :(

  8. Those people dont understand football. They want workers who look like they give 110% for the cause. Fair enough in many positions of the team, but workers dont get you goals. Benni has done it 23 times this season, and we are not even a top 4 side, and people say if we get a good offer for him then we should sell him cause he is "lazy".

Check how many strikers have been tried since Shearer even in the two seasons we finished 6th and you will see its not easy finding someone who breaks the 20 goal barrier.

    Well done, son...
