Drakefyre- dont think so mate
as for portugal, the english outnumbered them in most matches, our game against them was like a home game
greece, only were so passionate cos they won
the rest i cant be bothered to argue against
i think this is just everyones matter of opinion against others, i personally think we have the best fans in the world and dont care what others think, especially "soccer" fans from america
-
actually i think your missing my point, that last comment was a reply to the person who though greece fans were better than the english because of the scenes when they celebrated, im merely saying that it would been bigger had england won
please give me examples of countries which have better fans i would love to know
-
a good signing i must admit
-
nah id never pay....
in newcastle its suprisingly easy to pull..
-
oh ok, if its someones wife/girlfriend/sister etc etc i apologise
-
is it a board member?
dont worry i only stalk women in the same area as me
-
on those pics, whose the girl with the caption "we saw her sober"
shes not too bad actually...
-
dont be daft, if england had won it would have become a national holiday
they would have had to close the streets of london
all the players would have been knighted
just look what the papers did with rooney, we are just looking for something to celebrate, i mean a 24 page special on Rooney hahaha

i think the english mentality to football is different to other countries, the sheer passion involved with england far surpasses other countrys, and if our emotions get carried away.....there you go!
Oh, pass the sick bag...
Jesus Christ
oh and where pray, are you from?

it should have been a goal, if you actually WATCH the incident you will see that the keeper is out of sorts and puts HIS arms around terry
i suspect a few of these opinions are based on photographs which look like terry has his arms around the keeper
it wasnt just that decision, he was awful the entire match---a complete disgrace
hope he gets everything he deserves, he bottled it
anyways glad portugal got beat, knocks them back down to earth, i mean they've only had one good game the entire tournement (against england, which i believe was more are fault for being @#/? that day) greece however have beaten fance and the c.republic, as well as portugal twice
ps. was anyone else laughing when they saw ronaldo crying, i may sound bitter, but so be it
Oh my word, I thought that was the end of this thread, but up it pops again to the top of the pile.
I think I'll agree to differ on the whole "it was a foul" issue. I'll just say that I've seen it many times on T.V and numerous photos, and I'll stand by my opinion that it was a foul.
As for hoping the ref gets everything deserves; I can't let that one go, I'm afraid. Even if he did have a stinker of a match according to a few people, does he really deserve to have to go in to hiding for making a few controversial decisions while refereeing a football match?? A FOOTBALL MATCH. Christ, take a step back and put the whole thing in to perspective. Please. Youandwhosearmy - I suppose you've never had a bad day at work, have you? Tell you what, next time you do (I assume you're old enough to have a job), I'll get 15,000 folk to personally write to you telling you how crap you were, and I'll chuck in a few death threats as well against you and your family. I suppose I'll then go and splash your private life across the tabloids, inviting even more derision against you because you left your wife for another woman a few years back. Of course, it has absolutely nothing to do with the errors you made at work, but it is England, so it's alright.
Please, get a grip.
footballs life....more serious things have happened as a result of a bad decision
anyways do i care what happens to him, no

cheating portugal $£%%^&&^%
it wasnt enough to have a goal disalowed on the sole basis that they were at home, it was the last minute, and they would have been out
but
every single time one of our players touched them, they dived to the floor like they had been shot and the ref fell for it everytime, a good ref would have let the game flow and put an end to it before it began
and can someone tell me why vassel conceded 20 fouls for nothing, especially the one where the player jumped over him and won a free kick
if you ask me i believed the ref was racist, if you think about it, he did signal out the black english players
thought the swiss were nutural...my arse

come on england, i smell a victory
3-1

if england had of been knocked out in a similar fashion, then i guess i too would feel slightly agrieved
saying that, football is full of cruelty, just look at how england get knocked out of every championship in the past 10 years
I always watch italy in the hope they realise how good they are and how better they can become attacking wise, often i think their blessing of always having top notch defenders is really a curse, because they seem to defensive minded for their own good
if football teaches us anything, its that the best form of defense is attack (just ask kevin keegan)

Look on the bright side: just think how really gutted we'd all be if that happened to the Rovers.
Correct. I doubt it feels anywhere near as bad as Charlton this season.
im more gutted about this result than most rovers results, including the charlton game
the only ones which rank this bad, is the england vs brazil game, and the day we were relagated
i couldnt be more devastated

The gulf between the French side and England was very significant and really showed the direction the advent of the PL has taken our game.
Spot on, Paul.
There is a massive gulf between the way England play and the way France play. The best team were losing 1-0 for 45 minutes tonight.
I had hoped for a 1-1 draw at 87 minutes (before Heskey commited the foul which led to Zidane's free kick and goal) but, though gutted, cannot complain about the result.
The French people, through their government's policies over several decades, have produced QUALITY footballers; as well as a quality rail network and other quality stuff.
WHEN OH WHEN will a British government start to do similar??
I know England are not Britain but you get my meaning?
sorry but i think you know f all
we defended the game, AS ANY country would in our situation, france never really looked like scoring, and anyone who says differently know sweet fa
luck luck luck

we are being victimised no doubt about it, total scapegoats. for example the practice riots used "actors" with england colours and shirts
Wrong.
They wore mostly Benfica shirt.
i didnt say they mostly wore benfica shirts, i said they wore england gear, which they did, or at least some of them did
-
all this talk of english fans being thugs just winds me up
we are being victimised no doubt about it, total scapegoats. for example the practice riots used "actors" with england colours and shirts
fair enough some of those riot scenes in the past were unacceptable, but i feel that because of our reputation any other country's fans could aim to wind us up just to cause bother
and im not meaning to sound sympathetic, but in euro 2000 did we really do soo much damage, i dont recall anyone dying (i might be wrong)
and just to gain an additional point of view, a friend of mine went to the san siro to watch newcastle vs inter, they had flares thrown into their enclosure, bottles, cans, coins, and even a moped were also launched
the thing is this type of thing happens all the time!
in summery i wish our fans behave and realise they represent our nation, lets hope they and our team do us proud
