  1. 2/3 of the season, wouldn't that be around right, fellow Norwegians?

According to www.til.no , the problem isn't that the bid is too low, it's the installment-problem again !

  2. Could be, Philly, I think it might be a combination.. Rovers might've raised the bid a bit / changed the payment plan/percentages etc. , and Tromsø is closer than ever to reach the new Royal League now..

  3. Would like to see the combination Amo/Matteo against Arsenal, with Neill and Gray on each side. If Ferguson is suspended, I'm afraid we'll need Flitty in the middle alongside Tugay, with Emerton and perhaps De Pedro or Thompson on each side.

We also need Dickov instead of Yorke for this one IMO, he's a dirty little @#/? and can disrupt alot in Arsenal's back four !

  4. I see your point, but I'm not sure he's out of position if he plays between the defenders and the midfielders.. also, we've got Amo and Short in central defence, I think they're good enough - and Nissa played okay tonight aswell.

    My team against Arsenal:

    Friedel-

    Neill, Amo, Short, Gray

    Matteo

    Emerton, Ferguson, Tugay

    Stead, Dickov

Gamst Pedersen, Gally and Yorke/De Pedro will come on to play the last half hour, and secure a 2-2 result ! smile.gif

  5. Your not even a real blackburn fan so dont talk utter pants. Living in oslo, you just dont think or have the same feelings as people in this country.

Ridiculous post, but I see where you're coming from - I disagree with 99% of the opinions in your post, Krislu.

Friedel - fair enough, allright game but looked uncomfortable with his injury.

Emerton - solid performance except on that horrible first goal !

    Short - see above

Johansson - see above + poor passing

Gray - not very good today, but not horrible either.

Flitcroft - get him out ! Didn't defend well, didn't attack at all.

Ferguson - great goal, characteristic run! Not much more than that though, but when Tugay is the main distributor it's probably quite hard to star...

Tugay - good game, not the best defensive player, but some good distribution and not too risky either!

Matteo - out of position, get him in front of the back four ! Liked the way he just let Fernandez push him though, made the frenchie look like a twelveyearold...

Stead - good game allround, it's dangerous every time he gets the ball !

Yorke - didn't see him much, and when I saw him he was backtracking.

Dickov - good game, I'm sure Higginbotham didn't like him much..

Neill - fair enough, wasn't tested really...

Andy D'Arso - (Please don't use that word again) you!

  6. I'd almost want to see us get relegated if that meant we'd get Matty's old self again, but I'm afraid he's finished. It's really a tragedy to see such a skilled striker suffer like that, he's a fantastic player at his best and has been SO unlucky in the worst possible moments - like feeling ill and not getting his first cap, and then the accident in the season we were all hoping to see him knock out one of the two newbies from United..

But he did show glimpses of greatness again against Liverpool last year, let's hope he can get some matches this year aswell !

Btw, anyone else get Saunders-in-his-prime associations when watching Stead? Never afraid of pouncing from 30 yards if the ball comes his way - I really think we'll get to see some extraordinary goals from the young SuperStead! smile.giftinykit.gif

  7. thats what i think he will do if he is going to play matteo in misfield because ferguson will play and he said that thompson will be playing centre mid aswell and that he might have to change his system for it so he will prob play one up front(stead) with emerton, de pedro and either thompson or ferguson attacking with one of them staying back.

He said that Thommo would play centre mid, but he didn't say that he would be first choice in centre mid.

    I don't think he'll change formation..

  8. Disagree with you Capt Kayos.

First of all, it's not a question of whether Jansen is "ok or not", it's a question of "is he going to make it happen in the Premiership again".

He IS ok, physically, but he needs first team football if he's ever going to get back to his old self.

And I'm sure we are looking to get a new striker in, but Souness has given up this since kickoff is just two weeks away. Yorke will do the trick in the meantime, and maybe will Souness try to get a new striker in January.

He's not getting rid of Yorke either, and let's face it, Yorke IS one of the most talented players in our crop of them.. I'm also confident that Dickov has got nothing to worry about, he'll play his part for sure, but when Groin Strain Season begins, we'll need a fifth striker, and we need someone who can play alongside the young ones..

And why do you say that Souness doesn't know who to play up front?

I believe he's got his first XI picked out already, but it's obviously also the players responsibility to do well in training and impress him.

I'm sure Yorke will be picked off if he doesn't work, and he HAS been at his worst when playing with Andy Cole. Souey is well known for not being afraid of controversial substitutions, and if Yorke doesn't perform he'll be the first one to go off IMHO..

THEN we'll hopefully see Jansen do some magic, like against Liverpool last season... rolleyes.gifsmile.gif

I do agree on the "uumphh about the place !!!" though, and that we can be up there with the best (excluding the top three) man for man (INCLUDING Emerton, which we will see this season. Stop slating the man!)

  9. Souness has said: Our first aim is to survive in the Premiership, our first aim is to get those X points to be sure that we will play in the Premier League next season - and then we can look beyond that and pick as many points as possible. (this is not a direct quote, it's my perception of his intentions)

I'm sure this is the same for most managers in the Premier League, managers for teams like Middlesbrough, Bolton, Everton etc. will try and secure their Premiership status, and after that they will do everything they can to pick as many points as possible - and get a good position in the end.

And after a horrible season when relegation was near - do you really WANT him to aim for the 4th place?

I must say I'm glad that we have a manager that will concentrate on one thing at the time, first we secure next year's Premiership contract, and then we will obviously try and win as many matches as possible.

Even IF Souness aim was to "stay in the Premiership", so what?

Do you think that after securing the place, Souness would send Barry, Stead and Matteo on holidays and give the youngsters a game?

No, he would push it as far as we can go, three positions can mean £1,5 millions - Souness is aware of that !

  10. Okay, fine. If Yorke is willing to WORK, and Souness are willing to work with Yorke - I'm okay with it. He praised him after today's match, along with Matteo, so I guess that's a good sign..

I feel sorry for Jansen though, I really wanted him to get more chances than he really deserved this season.. (I know it sounds weird, but if Jansen leaves Blackburn after this season, and without really playing a part, I'd be disappointed.)

I just love that guy! rover.gif
