Two games.. 4 points dropped, if we have any realistic hope of being in the playoffs we just have to beat these types of teams at home!
The first half today we were abysmal... the following players should no longer be playing in the championship they're simply not good enough..
Bennett - yet again constant mistakes, great guy, great mascot, probably a half decent utility sub, but hes no longer good enough why can't Tomo see what everyone else can!
Bell - seriously the guy is a league 1 wing back, we need to adress this position in Jan, without fail!
Gallagher - Birmingham and Southampton must be absolutely P'ing their sides.. won only a few headers, has the touch of an elephant.. not good enough at all. Sell even at a significant loss.
In Jan, we need to sort a new perm CB, a new LB, backup RB unless that's Bennett and a striker that is 70% of DG not 10% like the ones we have currently!

Think we really missed him last night.. his calmness and distribution out from the back

Can anyone share where this can be watched please?

Far better and more balanced performance tonight. 100 times better than against Barnsley.
So what did we learn tonight? Well not much that we didn’t already know...
- Armstrong out wide instead of on his own in the middle works.
- A proper striker playing up top not out wide works - Gallagher must be fuming.
- A proper right back instead of a midfielder works.
- Armstong and Nyambe can work together.
- Rothwell and Downing can work together.
- Playing Rothwell from the start with a bit of freedom works - although if Mowbray hadn’t dug him out about goals earlier in the week, he might not have overthought his shot. Man of the match again.
- £14m and we are still utterly dependent on Dack for goals.
- Playing Bennett in defence makes us weaker - let’s hope Nyambe isn’t badly injured.
- Lenihan is a far better captain that Bennett.
- Brereton isn’t a pro athlete let alone a footballer - has he even been working on his game while he has been out? Can’t run, win the ball, or even get close to it. I don’t remember him touching the ball in the time he was on the pitch.
All of the things we have been asking for from Mowbray were in that starting line up. But his tombola machine will strike again in no time.
Three home wins in a row should be a cause for some optimism but I’ve no faith that he will stick with our best side or improve it with astute recruitment in January. He needs to show something in the next five games that he has learned and he is going to have faith in his best players rather than his favourite or longest serving. More changes for the sake of it and we are back to square one.
Over to you Tony.
Absolutely spot on!
Nail on head.
Hopefully Tony will see this, I said to my two boys at the start of the game, this team could see us progress well..
If we can recruit a proper GK, a CB (because Tosin is not long term) and a ST then we could be a real team.
So sad we have wasted £12m on those two, indefensible really! Brereton was utterly useless when he came on, about as strong as a leaf.. my oh my what could have been eh!

I would have the Preston manager in in a heartbeat! I have rated him ever since he brought his promotion Norwich team to Ewood a few years ago who were excellent! The best people are taken.. and we need to get him in and allow him to build a club!

Can see us signing him with the link with Johnson, depends on how long hes injured for!
-
We need a fresh approach
Tony the Dinosaur needs to go

Personally I would be happy for Mowbray to move upstairs into a director of football role and help with the infrastructure and put Johnson in till the end of the season as long as Johnson has the say on transfers.
-
Must agree time for a new manager..
But who?
-
Positives..
1st half (apart from 1st ten mins)
Tosin / Nyambe / Downing / Travis / Holtby / Dack
Negative..
2nd half
Compounded by Mowbray inspired substitutions, I mean what the..
Walton - Serious downgrade on Raya, we need an experienced GK asap
Johnson, clearly has class but come on
Gallagher - pointless just.. touch of a pregnant elephant
Pfffttttttttt so frustrating, this team has so much potential
-
I would take Wagner Jokanovic or Hughton
-
What are the alternatives to Tony?
-
I would consider this team playing 4-1-4-1
Walton
Nyambe lenihan William's Cunningham
Travis
Rothwell Holtby Dack Armstrong
Samuel
My rational.. Nymabe is a proper RB but we all know Bennett will start at RB.. Travis as holding CDM.. and then Holtby and Dack to a) pull strings and b)support whoever is up front.. Graham can come on for the last 30 mins.. and Gallagher is dog..
-
My take on the game and ratings...
Walton - 5 Better or equal to Raya.. Really?
Bennett - 6 always try hard not his fault hes Tony favourite, hes not a RB enough said.
Lenihan - 7 solid
William's - 7 solid
Cunningham - 8 a few minor mistakes but I really like him, whips a good ball in too!
Travis - 7 industrial as ever and intent on moving forward
Downing - 8.5 I actually thought he was really really good today, probably my MoM
Armstrong - 7.5 had better of their RB has so much speed and potential but terrible decision making
Dack - 7 mixed game, but has ability to create a moment of magic
Gallagher - 4 sorry the guy us not good enough, agile as a brick and the touch of an elephant
Graham - 6.5 you know what youre getting with him
Subs:
Holtby 6.5 flashes of quality but not enough time
Rothwell 7.5 always make things happen, really like him
Samuel - 6 better than Gallagher
Overall think we were decent but just wish Tony would operate a meritocracy not a mate-ocrasy with Bennett and Gallagher the two weak links in our team
-
Still absolutely no idea why Chapman is not in Mowbrays plans!
-
Where is he playing?
Rankin-Costello
-
How poor is Gallagher in the air!
What's Rudy upto these days, that guy was a monster in the air!
-
I think we were quite decent up until 60 minutes, then when Warnock made the subs, we struggled until the last 5 mins.
Personally think Cardiff are going to be in the mix (top 6) and I reckon well be between 8-12th.. so not a terrible result.
Lenihan Willliams look good at the back, but agree currently looking like a struggle up top.

Just now, Stuart said:
If Bell is that useless as to not even be a suitable understudy then Mowbray should have moved him on in the window.
Agreed only problem is will someone take him and his wages
-
Putting Bell into any team outside of a league 1 team and at Left Wing is a monumental risk.. so I would put either Nyambe at RB with Bennett at LB or just put Tosin in at LB.
Bell is just not a LB at all... he cant defend although he is decent going forward.

3 x fries and a drink cost me £11 something.. I mean come on!! Daylight robbery!!

I would have gone with either Lenihan or Johnson myself but it’s not difficult to see why he would choose Bennett.
Bit of an overreaction to throw the toys out of the pram on this issue if you ask me.
Not really, my issue is the message this sends out to both the players and fans.. Bennett is a good person, but he was found wanting last year and this year so far (granted I only saw the Charlton game).
Nyambe has played considerably better when called upon, blind loyalty usually always results in widespread morale issues..
Football like business should be a meritocracy and this is evidence that Mowbray is running a favouroracry!

Total and utter disgrace...
Mowbray has gone from 25% credibility to 0% with that decision...
Fuming
-
Bennett captain...
Absolute disgrace.. rose tinted glasses... favouritism never ever works..
I'm seriously done!!!

I think Buckley showed some good touches and endeavour; few mistakes but looks like he has potential.
There's a part of me that would like to see him and Travis as part of a CM
