    He sounds a bit annoyed.

I think the tap has been turned off all of a sudden. Was only to be expected with the current financial uncertainty, zero revenue etc. Very frustrating. And I think Tony sounds frustrated too. Maybe they’d agreed a Manning deal and then the plug was pulled.

I don’t know Tony, I wouldn’t call conceding three goals a positive tbh.

What planet is Mowbray on. Get shut. Fed up being nearly men. With no steel. No guts. They were there for the taking today. And they blew it again. How many times are we gonna see the same old same old. I’d say conceding three goals is negative Tony. Good teams play badly and win when they have to. Bad teams play well and lose. Improve the f&£@ing defence or jog on.

  3. How is it possible we have just started the season with that sh!te defence? It was sh!te under Coyle, (apart from Bell).  It was sh!te in league one. It was sh!te when we got back in the championship and Tony blamed Raya and said defenders are coming. It was sh!te last season before lockdown. It was sh!te after lockdown. it is still sh!te today. And Tony refuses to panic, refuses to be bothered, refuses to sort it out. Therefore what hope is there? So depressing.

Covid is sadly ramping up again. R over 1 and cases doubling inside a week. Govt for sure are going to do everything they can to keep schools open so live crowds at football matches simply isn't happening again in 2020.

This dawning realisation is going to tip several EFL clubs and even the odd PL outfit into absolute despair financially before the window closes. For one thing, PL clubs declare their squad of 25 before the EFL Window closes so loan availabilities become much more visible.

Rovers keeping their budget to themselves could be in prime position to do some remarkably astute business in early October. A wily old campaigner like Warnock will be thinking thjis way up at Boro.

Wake up. Astute is not a word to ever describe our transfer and recruitment strategy.

  5. Can someone ask Mowbray why are we possibly going to start our season with 3 of the 4 man defence from the league 1 opener three years ago against Southend? Defence was crap then and still is now. What do Tony and Steve do on these late nights at Brockhall when they’re trying to recruit? It’s an absolute joke. A shambles. They couldn’t run a bath.

    Ridiculous.

Why is it ridiculous? It would be more ridiculous for Rovers to spend money on a centre half. No way we were ever in for Kipre. The fact Sharpe leaked it says it all. You could normally write Sharpe’s scoops on the back of a postage stamp. And suddenly he had inside info? Bollox.

  7. The Kipre link was cleverly orchestrated to  give the impression to supporters that we were being ambitious and serious about buying players. Hence the leak to Sharpe. It’s nonsense. Same old boring, no ambition and incompetence every transfer window. And then Newcastle fans moan about Ashley. They’ve just snapped up two of Bournemouth’s best players. Great signings. They don’t know they’re born.

But we didn't have these quarantine rules at that time did we? But you have move the goal posts to suit your own argument?

But can't answer why there is such a drop off in transfers from overseas clubs? wonder why you can't? Did you know look at the figures provided?

how do you know that there is no urgency going on at the club about transfers? source from inside the club or someone who worked at the club?

We know there is no urgency because there never is. Plod, plod, plod along.

Or maybe Mowbray isn't that desperate to bring in new players which will upset the existing group in the first place.

Just table a few offers which are never likely to be accepted so it looks like you're doing something. Job done for another window, then come out with a few hard luck tales about near misses after the window has shut.

Think you’ve summed up the situation perfectly.
