That last line is class. What f@&king recruitment? A goalkeeper? To replace another goalkeeper. The recruitment team have done a great job strengthening the squad.

Never a massive Hanley fan but at this level he is decent and he’s certainly an improvement on Del, who’ll be starting at Bournemouth at this rate. But cannot for the life of me see it happening. We’ll end up with some kid from a PL under 23s on loan who’s prob no better than Wharton. Why is our recruitment so garbage? 

How is it possible to be manager of a club for nearly four years, be an ex centre half and to not have made, in that time, a permanent centre half signing apart from Paul Downing? We have the same leaky sh£t defence that we had under that moron Coyle apart from Amari Bell. Same sh£t, different window. It’s so frustrating and boring. 

They couldn’t run a bath. Every other club manages to buy players. We dither and prat about and then polish up the next sob story. And they talk about a recruitment department. They need their p45s ASAP if it does exist because our recruitment is dog sh@t.

Fans are fed up with the same old bullish&t every transfer window. And we really think Tony is going to play Dolan. He’ll grind all the enthusiasm out of him like he’s done with Chapman. And then it’ll be back to Gallagher on the wing.

Danny Graham didn't play that often but he had a presence which I think encouraged others and certainly brought the best out of Dack. With him gone who's left? Travis is a battler but doesn't really have leadership qualities just yet.

Won't be a popular suggestion but I'd go for Sam Morsy if Wigan are offloading. May not fill one of our problem positions but just what we need in terms of character.

Morsy would be a great shout. Just what we’ve missed for a years. A proper hard man. Who cares if he’s not popular.

Only dinosaur Mowbray could think sticking a centre forward out on the right is a better option than Dolan. The kid has got promise and bags of enthusiasm. Just wait for old Tony to knock it all out of him as he’s done with Chapman.

I’m sure Kipre’s agent has alerted other parties so not saying it’s Sharpe’s fault. Feels like he has better sources this summer. Just feel it’s better to wait until the deals are done before releasing info but then he’s just doing his job I suppose.

Very strange for Sharpe to advertise to other interested parties that we were in advanced talks. Why not wait until it was signed and sealed. Maybe give impression that we were buying when we weren’t but why would they do that? No season tickets sales to worry about yet. All rather confusing.

I think you’re right. Kyle Bartley and Hegazi and Ajayi are hardly world beaters, more journeymen than class centre halves. He’s got a chance of being first choice.

The biggest puzzle about this whole thing is why West Brom would have Shane Duffy, scores own goals on purpose. as their first choice centre half option.

Shows how far we’ve fallen. Fans (including myself) excited about a 900k signing of a centre back. Then beaten to it by West Brom. Ultimate yo yo club with no trophys. Oh well. Nice to have some optimism, even if only for a few hours. And poor old Rich Sharpe. Finally with some transfer info ahead of the game. And then all for nothing.

I liked Emerton. He really suffered with confidence but Sparky converted him to a right back and he was class. A great pro. A great guy.

Get Kipre in.

About time he realised what most fans have known for a while. Defence needs strengthening.

Armstrong, until Dack is back, is our best player. Play him through the middle and play with some genuine width supporting him. This false nine crap doesn’t work. We are not City and we are not Barca from six years ago.

Anyone who thought Venkys were going to make money available this summer was in dream world. No match day income since March and no prospect of any coming soon. We also don’t know how their businesses have been hit by the virus lockdowns. It’s the way it is. Rubbish but inevitable.
