  1. What will be baffling, will be if we pay a fee and then we also give him a bigger contract than we offered Lenihan.
  2. Apparently we are being pushed to sign Davies on a perm. I'd be much happier with that, but it depends on the wage. https://twitter.com/RyanTaylorSport/status/1547183080791752704?t=PzfzK0G8S2lb2_Ia6FRVgA&s=19
  3. I'm in complete agreement, the finances involved seem crazy for a loan. Liverpool don't even need him in or around the first team so we shouldn't break the bank (or this bs wage structure) to get him. E.g. I think there are more inventive signings we could make that won't cost an arm and a leg.
  4. You could argue all proven players that would do a job. Shane Long guarantees you 15+ goals. Can't say the same for any of our players. Don't think you could say it about BREO either who scored nothing second half of the season
  5. But we are yet to sign Davies?! He's not even ours, and might never be. These are signings that Reading will make today.
  6. Reading who looked like relegation candidates being unable to sign anyone making moves, what is going on with our club. They're signing Shane Long today - 80k wage at Southampton to 5k at Reading. Jeff Hendrick on loan. Hutchinson about to sign. Fulton from Swansea. Meanwhile we're doing F all.
  7. It's such an uninventive signing. I'd be disappointed tbh, a loan too.
  8. Yeah, interested to know who he is
  9. JDT spending extra time at the end of the behind close doors video chatting for a while to one of the Accy Stanley players. Found it particularly interesting, anyone know who it was?
  10. He would be an insane player in the championship
  11. Marlon Fossey from Fulham would be a decent signing.
  12. Exactly, people saying it's not about the money and about the journey are severely suffering with Mowbrayism. Anyone who says they would say no to a pay rise for the exact same job is lying to themselves
  13. Absolutely correct. However footballers know it's a short career so will try to gain as much money as possible, the vast majority anyway. Some won't of course but in general a footballer, as well as a non-footballer will follow the money. But if the offer is similar they will look at job satisfaction
  14. I think it's the more the fact he had to play with a back 5, and doesn't have the personnel yet available to him.
  15. Gallagher apparently had at least 5....
  16. The most frustrating thing for me is that Garrett was ready last season too...
  17. “I think it’s quite clear, you guys know where we need to buy players, it’s quite simple isn’t it. “If you bring players in and you want to take a special direction those players should be able to help the team to be better than the players we have so we can put the team in a positive direction which is important. “I know what I want and the club have to provide that of course and they are working extremely hard to provide that.”
  18. He's given. From the quotes he doesn't appear happy with the club. In my opinion.
  19. Young Wharton impressing? Thoughts on Sam Barnes?
  20. Sam Barnes, Not Sam Burns in 2nd XI, so assume back 3 in both games....
