It's looking like the Brown Cow has dropped Feniscowles from its address. All we need now is real ale.

Look at Jack Southworth's record, a goal a game average. He might not have been our greatest striker, but he was statistically. He was a famous musician too.

Barbara Castle's statue has gone down well. Different story for Jack Straw.

When England played Scotland there in 1887, they called it the 'incline'. 12,000 turned up for that match.
I must admit to having reservations over the ground location. After living in this area for the last 20 odd years, Sacred Heart school's position is far too steep to have hosted football matches. The old Leamington Road Baptist church and its surrounding area is more likely to be where the ground was located.
It seems a bit odd how nobody is really sure of the exact ground location, despite Leamington Street arguably being the first purpose built football ground in the world. It's certainly accepted as the first to host an England match.

Should this not read THE most successful town club in the country. Can anyone name a town club with a more illustrious history than Rovers?
Technically, Sunderland was a town when they won 6 League titles and 2 FA Cups. Going on about us being a town club is meaningless.

They're putting artwork up around Stanley about the history of the club, much like we had in Blues Bar from Bob Crompton to the present until the club whitewashed it.
Won't need much historical artwork. They were only formed in 1968.

I switch on Radio Lancashire in a morning to get the latest local news and travel update. I have to listen to the inane drivel coming out of Graham Liver and Leanne. It's the same rubbish every day with always a hint of smutty innuendo; like two kids in a primary school yard. I soon switch to radio 4 or 5 live.
I find Graham Liver's show very entertaining. Him and Leanne have a funny banter which goes close to the bone, but is harmless enough. He's a Rovers fan, even named after former centre half, Graham Hawkins. His show might not be everyone's cup of tea, but we all have different tastes, especially at six o'clock in the morning.

Rovers Recruit In Very Mysterious Ways

Obvious solution is for Venky's to pull out of Rovers, write off all the debts, then take over East Lancs.
It would be a return to their first love - Cricket.
They would be welcomed with open arms and it wouldn't cost them anywhere near as much as Rovers.
Can we not find ourselves a good conman?

Graham Budd the auctioneers recently sold an even older book. This was published in 1893. But it also says 1874. I always thought our formation was November 5th 1875. But you never know? I'm also interested to to find out the 'exact' location of the Leamington Street ground and what we were originally called. Was it Blackburn Rovers, or just Rovers?
