Yeah but with some it is obvious that they are that good already and ready straight away. Look at our very own Duff, Dunn and even Jones. The likes of Ronney and Owen - none went out on loan as it was obvious that they were already better than many of those ahead of them.
Some managers prefer to keep the young talent close. Some also study the style and clubs that the loanees go to, to ensure that there is an end result or education to be achieved. Anyhow, if our aim is for the boys to experience men's football, then loaning is the way to go

Hopefully the injury to Davenport is not too serious. Not much information on what broke

By giving them regular game time.
No matter how promising, no one can argue yet that Butterworth should start over Dack, Buckley over Travis/Johnson, Fisher over Mr. X & Y, and we need to sign central defender(s) better than Magloire is right now.
They'll come back the better for it, and make mistakes on someone else's pitch.
going on loan not the only way of course. not disagreeing with you but look at Rhian Brewster and Phil Foden, they both didn't get sent on loan. Brewster's gonna get a big season ahead of him.

Looks like Magloire, Buckley, Rankin Costello and Butterworth are all going to be in and around the 1st team. Academy paying off. Apparently they were all excellent in the friendly match.
I don’t expect much in’s:
Joe Hart GK minimal transfer fee and Adam CM on free.
Taunzabe CH and Chong RW on loan for Man Utd.
Sam Hart wasn't too bad as well. Might get a chance this season.

club willing to release on a free but wages a stumbling block.
This one has legs (two). Associated with Salgado apparently.

Saw his video interview. Does seem to have an edge about him, probably someone who youngsters won’t want to mess about with

The White signing sounds very similar to the signing of Brad Lyons. Centre midfielder playing 'men's football' brought in to potentially affect the first team in a season or two. Stengthens our U23 team in the meantime or goes out on loan.
Did the U23's lose many midfielders in the summer to warrant this signing?
Probably players like Buckley (and Davenport) are going to break through so you need bodies in there.

How did we come across this chap? One of Tony’s mates kids? Right part of the world i suppose
Some nice comments from his fans. Can’t make out a particular comment- “he’s class but not sure if he’s championship material yet, he’s class”. Could be something. England C player etc etc.

I wager we won't see any of him for a year or two. 22 years old is pretty late for a development player though... must have something about him?
Haven’t seen much of Brad Lyon too, about the same age, mind. One would have thought Lyons has something about him too. We have the numbers in centre mid, no doubt about it. Padding the U23s for a start

wait for it....
a defender (you wish)..a ball playing, combative midfielder. Roy Keane it is then, finally joining mighty Rovers

We are playing feckin Barrow! You are not telling me none of our Academy lads right down to the age of 16 could not have stepped in.
Brad Lyon?

He had a hand in the second goal
64' More on the goal: Good pressure from Adam forces a mistake and Nuttall latches onto the loose ball before creating space for a shot and he drills a lovely low effort past Saltmer from the edge of the area. 1-2

To be fair, Adam has been influential in this second half

it was clarified some days ago that Adam is (was) not training with the club. By club officials no less. From that to trialling. Maybe he showed some useful things to TM on the team’s return from Austria.

That was the plan from the start.
These kinda of games should almost have a social media blackout. They are meaningless and only about getting players back match fit.
The only problem is if we get a drubbing off a minnow then it becomes an issue.
One feels for the Barrow trialist. Scored an own goal and almost gifted Dack another in the first half ?

Is that Lewis Thompson, from the u-23s?
Yes it is

Hardcastle’s name popped up a few times for Barrow
-
#Rovers 2nd half: Fisher, Bennett, Magloire, Wharton, Thompson, Adam, Smallwood, Buckley, Butterworth, Armstrong, Nuttall.
looks like the entire team changed for second half except for Fisher in goal. Today’s about fitness.

In fairness even Mowbray is surely not stubborn enough to think Leutwiler is a capable No1. If he starts the season in nets then the manager should be rightly lambasted for it. I'm absolutely sure we'll bring someone in though, whether it's Hart (god forbid) or Darlow.
Would you be ok with Andy Fisher? Promising keeper already here. Started today’s game

Not what I’ve heard. Magloire is now at the front of the queue to be intergrated this season along with Buckley and Butterworth.
i wouldn’t be surprised if we sold Wharton and sent Grayson back out on loan.
Sad if that happens. Always rated Wharton but granted haven’t seen him play last season. What say our former U23 captain Platt?

Missed a few youngsters off who will be challenging eg Magloire
Now that the other young players are back from loan, Tyler is probably behind players like Scott Wharton, Platt and Grayson me thinks

Thanks lad. I have always thought we have food promising young keepers in our U23s. Even in The new lad Hilton and the departed ex-Man U youth
