If ever there was a post that warranted the return of the laughing reaction emojis!
It’s probably true. Unleaded knows his stuff.

We’ll sign a player tomorrow.

I never said he would be good for Rovers did I? I personally wouldn’t sign him at 32 either, just saying he did quite well last season. Calm down!

Sharp has been sheff Utd x2, Donny, Leeds, Southampton at championship level when a weaker division and hasn’t cut the mustard. L1 is his level
Scored 13 league goals in the Championship last season. Not saying that’s amazing but still not bad.
-
Have we signed anyone yet?
-
You would think we should see some movement this coming week.

He wouldn't have been given a 3 year contract last week if that was the case.
What's better for him and us long term , him sat on the bench here occasionally filling in when Lenihan,Mulgrew,Williams and probably Downing are unavailable.
He will play every week for Lincoln it's a good move for all concerned
Not really when I’d have him ahead of Downing. We’ve got to start putting more faith into our talented youth.
What would be more annoying is if we sign a centre back now.

Not happy with that. Would rather keep him. That’s him gone for another year and probably won’t make the first team here.

Sounds like we played well.

And how can we do better on our budget?

1-0 Nuttall

Nuttall was the top scorer in that team. Place him in the 1st team and the gulf in experience and capabilities are laid bare.
For me, the only U21 ready for the 1st team now is Travis.
Maybe so, but he never had a full run in the team. But yes I don’t think he’s all that.
There must be others other than Travis surely? Rankin Costello is 19 this week, he should be breaking through at that age.

Yes but there is the crux of the problem when we keep bringing in players to fill spaces which our young players should be doing. Examples las season Tomlinson and Travis not getting bench places but we bring in Harper from WBA to do it. Mowbray has little confidence in our youth. Two more young players arrived this summer to compete with these two.
Spot on.
We won the U23’s last season, must be a few that can step up. Obviously Travis and Tomlinson being two. Costello and Wharton next? We’ve got to give these guys a chance if the money isn’t there.

Looking at that you would say his successes were the British based players (exception being Jonas Olson). Perhaps that explains his reluctance to look abroad.
Robert Koren was a good player for them.

Pacy iranian/swedish striker Saman Ghoddos scored two goals yesterday for Ostersunds. Yes Potters old side. Should look at him!
Our scouting/management team have probably never heard of him!

Crazy overpriced market in England... why aren't Mowbray and his scouting team looking abroad? Can't remember any foreign players being linked.
Exactly. Would be crazy just to look in the English market. So many gems overseas for lower prices.

Fair enough. I'd want more goals from a striker looking to step up a level though, regardless of all round play.
Think we’d create more than that Shrewsbury team but yes it all depends on the ‘budget’.

Did he? 6 goals in 42 games? Up front for a top 3 team? So sayeth the Wikipedia anyway
Yes I saw him play a few times. He didn’t always score but his all round game was good.

Sadly I feel that we dont have the budget for one, never mind both.
Shocking if true.

Armstrong and Winnall are good shouts I think. Them 2 and Maddison would be 3 good signings.
Obviously Armstrong and Maddison would be ideal. I’d feel a bit better if we signed those two this week.

Hopefully never. Nowhere near good enough. Apparently loan interest in him according to the Lancashire Telegraph so hope he sees out his contract elsewehere.
Mowbray has mentioned a few times before, having players on different lists, first choice targets, second choice, third etc.
Would like to think the quality on the first list would be the likes of Maddison, like Dack has proven to be consistently a class above League 1, Armstrong who we know compliments Graham and Dack brilliantly. Think Winnall and Mckay are the types that youd have as second choices choices, shown their quality before but their careers have been on a slide. Gallagher and Toney wouldnt even be on 3rd choice list for me and Bradshaw would cost far too much considering his poor goal record. You defend him saying his team didnt create chances (not sure how you know that) as if weve got the attacking midfielders to improve that for him.
Just saying I want our players to play in their positions.
Think hes seriously injured. Besides, hardly prolific at League 1 level.
Who do you suggest then??

Him and Pittman are really good shouts to be honest.. Better then mine haha
Exactly. Can’t see Morris getting in the Norwich team, I think their German man has other plans. He did well at Shrewsbury.
-
Carlton Morris would do well here.

It is hard to believe really. What manager would seriously turn down extra transfer cash?
