Abou Diaby.
Injuries killed him. Would have become world class.

Dear oh dear! Getting off to a flyer IN THE NEW SEASON! (on account of having all our ducks in a row as opposed to waiting for closing time on the last day of the transfer window.)
When did we last do that?
How do you know we are waiting for the last day of the window?

The levels of impatience and panic on here are bordering on insane. Yes we need to improve and add depth but it's mid-June. The players who want to join Rovers will, do. They'll sulk back to their current clubs at the start of pre-season and be ushered out sharpish. We'll also add quality loan players late in August when they realise they won't be featuring regularly at their current team. It's not rocket science is it?
Personally, I think some people just can't wait to pick each signing to bits in the same way we were promoted on a Tuesday and come the weekend, dummies were being spat out of certain prams.
Best advice is, chill out and recharge the batteries, leave Chaddy alone, enjoy the World Cup, we will improve the squad and I'm sure we'll be competitive next season. For a start, we don't have Owen Coyle - so that's a major positive.
At last, some sense. Great post sir.

Oh my.....at what point did 17th June become late in the transfer Market? Any transfers done before July are early, surely?
I agree. 47er that’s a poor post. Not one team has had a flyer. It’s very early days.

I’d be all out to get Ben Godfrey from Norwich. Had a great time at Shrewsbury last season. Powerful type of central midfielder and at a good age. I’d imagine TM has noticed him.

Don’t be so negative. We are Blackburn Rovers.

Ladyboy has got to be a Bolton fan.

Announce the imminent signing from four hours ago.....

Chaddy the chief scout

Start of last season I wasn’t DG’s biggest fan, I thought he was lazy and disinterested because we were in League 1 (maybe he was unfit who knows) but I have completely changed my thoughts on him for a while now - delighted to see him sign. Seems like a top person and a great player to have around.

Settle down? You do realise unless it's a worldie (and there are some who would even find fault there) there'll then be pages of questioning the signing and bitching about how unproven/poor/bad attitude he is
It was a little bit sarcastic.

At the end of the day, none of us know who we are after, who we are signing. We don’t know who TM wants. If a good player becomes available his age probably won’t matter. Can’t wait for the first signing so we can all settle down.

Gotta love TM. We are in good hands.

After seeing Kamara at Fulham, Kodjia at Villa and Bristol and Dhediou at Bristol this year it's apparent those who score in French league two are capable of stepping up.
This lad at Nimes Umut Bozok has twenty four goals this yeAr, some taken nicely, and he's twenty one. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ohg6yjOfZNs
Additionally I'd like Sidy Sarr, six foot five and a tough tackler in the middle. He's 21 and also a great eye for goal, covers the pitch like a Yaya Toure.
Ours the pair for a few million, plenty of value and scope to develop and sell on.
would also ask Bournemouth for Lys Mousset on loan if he can't break into their 11.
I agree with you.
Its important not to ignore overseas. I’m all for experienced Championship players but sometimes you have to look for the hidden gems in Ligue 2, Bundesliga 2 etc. Plus they are likely to be cheaper.

What I’d do for a new signing. I’m feeling impatient. Can’t wait.
-
Right, we need to spice this up.
First signing....go!
-
JAL - not saying he’s a good player but do you rate anyone?
-
Not seen any bad comments from Villa and I live close to the area. They all loved him.

Don’t care where Pilkington is, we should go all out to get him here. A local lad with quality is exactly what you need in your squad, will add to the already great team spirit.
-
Would love Pilkington. Being a Blackburn lad and he won’t be playing much in the Premiership - makes a lot of sense.

David De Raya is easily ready. Can’t wait to see him improve.
-
If we are looking for another defender - I’d be looking at Jordan Willis the centre back who scored in the playoff final today for Coventry. Big, young and athletic.

Doubt they’ll struggle, they’ve got a top manager.
