Gally needs selling
I don't think he "needs selling" (unless he's on silly wages) he'd always be handy to have in the squad, our priority should be strengthening and adding numbers to our centre forward area. If we get a couple of new centre forwards in, then yes let him go by all means, but right now the last thing we want to do is let senior players go

Might not be a bad shout on a free. Scored 13 goals before doing his ACL, came back and scored 10 with 3 assists. Got pace, can finish and will want to prove himself at a higher level. As a firm believer of signing players who excell in the lower leagues, I'd like to see us get this one done as a low risk punt. Certainly not as a main summer signing.
With our luck i personally wouldn't touch a player with past ACL injuries, not even on a free

It’s a great conspiracy…except for the fact that it was Arsenal that wanted the deal structured as a loan with option to buy to help their FFP issues.
As Raya’s value would depreciate over his year at Arsenal, if anything, £3m is a poor deal from Brentford’s perspective. Also his contract was ending before Arsenal came in and Raya signed a new contract with Brentford to retain his value.
I was thinking if he now doesn't end up signing permanently for arsenal his value could actually have gone up quite a bit after extendeding his Brentford contract and having an excellent year at arsenal. Could actually work out better for us if it falls through and another big club comes sniffing

So you think we’ve hired a new head of scouting and told him we can’t sign any of his recommendations?
That's a good point!! I really don't believe Park would return unless he was assured that money is going to be spent on good calibre players.
That said!!! History has repeatedly shown that assurances from waggot, suhail & co. Mean next to nothing.

Heard the main sponsor isn’t totally Wicked any more, but they will support us in other capacities
Maybe 'Navigator' the multi billion pound Portuguese company that are buying out Accrol papers might want to give their company name a boost in the area
(highly unlikely i know, but the venks will never completely destroy my hope)

Just frustrating that we pay for cat 1 status and still get best talent cherry picked. Personally I would rather spend the 1.5m on someone to add to the squad. Many clubs still get by without it
I thought last season it would have been better to keep him well out of the limelight and try to keep him well hidden at the club until professional contracts are signed, instead we needlessly put him on the bench a few times which attracted a lot of attention because of his incredibly young age
We basically put him in the shop window and did his agents job for him.

Id stay well clear of Rothwell
Have you forgotten his non performances after being refused a move to Bournemouth the January before his summer departure?
Up until then he had been excellent that season as soon as he didn't get his transfer his performances were shit
He is a 1 in 3 or 4 player anyway a decent performance followed by poor performances and like you say will be on more money than any of our players
He offers something different and unpredictable though, we need a player or 2 like that in the squad as we are way to predictable and never have any players on the bench that can come on and offer something different
He was one of a few players that season that where dicked about, Mowbray was crap at dealing with him for years
-
I'd welcome Rothwell back for next season, either on loan or a permanent(although I imagine his wages would scupper a permanent)

It's been a miserable 14 years.
Just a thought.... The Raos/venkys have now owned Blackburn rovers longer than The Great Jack Walker did(before he passed away) and longer than the time it was being run by the trust!
😭😭😭😭😭😭
A 14 year nightmare that there's no sign of us waking up from.

That doesn't mean he will reproduce the same form next season. Knowing when to release a player is a major part of running a football club.
A well run football club yes!

I would snap their hands off at £15M.
Same old, same old....
Doesn't matter if he goes for 5mill or 50mill our first team will not be strengthened by him leaving.
Simply just think were we'd be now if it wasn't for Szmodics this season, it wasn't just his goals it was his determination and work rate that was head and shoulders above anybody else in our team. That is priceless

Ah brill, a Mowbray and Waggott man, what could go wrong.
I get where you're coming from but to be fair Parks record at rovers appeared to be good.
Although he did seem to jump ship pretty quick after Mowbray left! Whether that was because he didn't want to be here or because he'd already got word he'd not be needed once a dof comes in

Just curious and wondering if the young man city player Matthew Warhurst that's scored a hatrick against our under 18s is any relation to the brilliant former rover Paul Warhurst?
Can't see any mention that he is related online, although i did spot that Paul Warhurst also started his career as a youth at man city also
-
Tbf those season tkt prices look reasonable to me! If I wasn't broke and didn't work every other weekend 😅
The kids and under18s you especially can't argue with
That said waggot & Suhail are still a cretins and it changes nothing.

It wasn't his decision. Venky's appointed a football consultancy to advise the best way forward. They recommended a DOF approach and a recruitment consultancy was appointed to find a DOF.
Sunish and Waggot were not involved on either decision and hence Waggot always resented Broughton being appointed and did everything possible to undermine him.
Just pathetic isn't. Makes me sick to even think how many millions that all wasted "project" costed. I'm guessing the consultancy company alone cost at least hundreds of thousands just for their advice
Here's hoping that hiring the agency and attempting the dof route was the venkys last role of the dice to make something of the mess they have created and now they're looking to just cash in on every player asset we have before finally pishing off. (we can only dream🤞)

I’m no “Nickoteen”, just making the point that what Nixon is saying essentially corroborates what Jackson has reported, ie nothing doing.
Will Waggott want another pesky DOF disturbing his cosy little empire?
I agree! But i still just don't understand why he went that route to begin with by hiring Broughton and switching to a dof model in the first place!?
Was it not waggots decision to go the route. Was the decision made for him? Who made the decision to hire gb as dof?

And where do you think English football would be without oligarchs, sheikhs, consortiums and worldwide investors queuing to get a piece of the cake due to massive tv revenues.
Before folk start knocking Scottish football, comparisons should be made before the advent of Sky tv and the monies that flowed into the English game thereafter.
With England having a population of 57 million and Scotland one of 5 million, comparisons have always been flawed but for one of the smaller nations of the world, Scotland have always punched way above their weight.
I’ve Scottish blood in me and I’m immensely proud of it and proud of Scottish football, past and present. I was at Celtic Park yesterday, in Stirling today and off to Mull tomorrow. I couldn’t be happier.
Football quality wise it's still pretty crap though isn't it🤷♂️
-
Scottish football on the whole is bloody terrible though! Genuinely on a par with the bits and bobs of womens football that I've witnessed
Even there national team is a joke considering the decent pool of players they often have, yet whichever useless national manager they have at the time usually picks the most awful squads and seems to discriminate against players that they don't consider 'scotish enough'😅

Eustace is quickly going to lose the fans if he comes out with more of this rubbish.
Why can't he say we have lost wharton, might lose others (sammie) and we will need to recruit well to replace them and also avoid being down the bottom again next year. Not difficult.
Sadly i think he's going to lose fans if/when it becomes more apparent that he's 'team waggot' andcshares the same lack of ambition has him and his cronies.
-
I think he's still got a year left at fulham but if he's not gurenteed as much football there now how about cairney to add some much needed experience and creativity(and class!) to the team
