Nah, we just need to get a few clubs bidding for him. Apparently Rafa is interested.

    Everton

Could see that being the best option for him. Most appealing.

Calvert-Lewin as a target man to play off. Then players rotating around him with Demari Gray, James Rodriquez, Andros Townsend, Richarlison, Alex Iwobi, Moise Kean and Armstrong.

8 players for 4 positions mind you. But that's the Premiership. Be an exciting attack regardless.

Sure they'll give us Braithwaite permanently as part of the deal too 👀🥴

Would rather him go to Everton over Watford/Southampton tbh.

Apart from Annesley, have we recently had any non-domestic players coming through the academy?

Also had Chanka Zimba and Enzo Boyomo, the latter who turned us down and now plays in either Sirie A or La Liga (can't remember).

Then we have Pike, Burns, Brennan, Durrant, Harlock and Garrett who are all from Liverpool, so may as well be classified as non-domestic 🤣

I think Jack coming along and doing what he did was more like winning the lottery.

Where we are right now is like a lottery winner who has pissed away all their fortune, their house is in ruins and they’re back on the dole.

And they now live with their grandad who they hate, smells bad and refuses to move into a home 2 years after it was time...

Mowbray has been a good manager for most of his time here but the 12 months hasn't been good enough.

Lambert was a good appointment by Venkys.

You say the last 12 months... the vast majority of us say anywhere from 18-30 months. I personally sit at 30.

Lambert was - internally - the most disliked manager in living memory, and many were thrilled he left. Add to that I would say he is the only manager in my lifetime to rival Mowbray for the"Boring Football" award.

Just because Mowbray has been "better" than Kean, Coyle, Lambert and Berg etc, doesn't mean he has been a "good manager", he's as much of a turd as the rest.

We've been given an allocation of 1,500 for the Bolton game, apparently.

Can we turn the last 5 mins of this game into a Mowbray out fest?

That's gives all the apologists (and the rest of us) 85 minutes to "enjoy" being there... but we need to voice ourselves early and often this season.

Wonder if there has ever been "manager out" chants in pre-season?

Wouldn't be surprised to see rumours linking us with Stefan Johansen and Patrick Roberts over the coming weeks.

Fits the left-footed right winger role and was also signed by John Park in the past. Both are seemingly fairly available and the links are easy to make.

    I'd be happy with both.

I could see that as a win-win-win all round. One Ex-Celtic/Boro oan signing I could get behind.

City (must) know he is never going to make their grade and he has flattered to decieve at Boro, Derby etc.

After seeing how well we've done with Tosin, THB and Elliott (I know he's not theirs...), City might see Rovers as the team to up his value over the rest of 2021.

By this point his wage % will be fractional as I can't see many teams paying up.

So if he flops, we aren't out of pocket, or he does well (in a position we're short) and we (stay up!). After that who knows what could happen down the road as his contract is up in 12 months and MAYBE we can agree a low fee (Like with Adam Armstrong).

    Won't happen 🤣

I am pretty sure that when Harvey left, the message coming from the club was that it wouldn't affect things this summer.

The following quote suggests that maybe it did cause a road block:

"it’s now full steam ahead to find the players to ensure we have a competitive squad going forward."

Are you suggesting that this clubs management structure would blatantly lie to their fan base? 😯

I'd like to be the first to "welcome" all previous Celtic players to BRFC in addition to all the Middlesbrough and Coventry ones currently being "scouted".

Ironically, there are some current Celtic players I would love, BUT I don't think we're shopping in the Edouard, Ajer, Ntcham and Christie market anytime... ever.

Not aimed at you in particular chaddy but

    When we tank

"let's give him until the end of the season and see where we are then"

    When it doesn't improve

"let's see who he brings in in the summer"

when there's no sign of activity

"let's see where we are by the end of the window"

    when we start badly

"let's give him until Christmas and see where we are then"

When the congested Christmas period goes badly

"let's give him the chance to see what we can do in the January window"

When the season is dead by February

"No point getting rid of him with only ---- games to go"

And on and on it goes.

Well that's certainly been the routine for the past 3 seasons. 🤮

Some fans (I fear), will only accept relegation - with Mowbray completing the full 46 games - before they accept he has failed.

Then, there will STILL be those saying "why sack him now? He got us out of this league first attempt last time".

    Nightmare.

  9. Souness.

Appointed by Uncle Jack and John Williams.

Lead us to 2nd (promotion - not L1.), 10th and 6th in the Premier League, AND our last major trophy -in his first three full seasons.

Signed Bellamy, Tugay, Emerton, MGP, Neill, Friedel, Berg, Cole, Yorke, Ferguson.. not to mention the way he improved Duff, Dunn and Jansen.

To compare Souness to Mowbray is blasphemy.

But even as fans we (and he) knew his time was coming to an end at the start of 2004-2005 season. He/we were "fortunate" enough that Newcastle came calling.

Mowbray has outlived his welcome for pushing 2 years now. Yet he surrounds himself with basically bodyguards for his job.

On a separate note, John Williams is only second behind the sad passing of Jack Walker as the biggest loss to this proud football club.

  10. Have we paid off the full Gallagher transfer? He's half way through a £5m deal, chances are we probably owe some more in installments. Over £1.5m, I'd guess.

Armstrong = (Net) £10m profit, Obafemi and Gallagher dept wiped.

Could be a fantastic way to preserve some of that 40%.

Remember that crazy deal we made with them in 1998 for Kevin Davies. Think we gave them £7.5m, James Beattie AND Stuart Ripley. About time they returned that favour, let alone the Gallagher one.

Never heard of him. But some decent Champ clubs looking at him 6 months ago. We do need another midfield anchor 🤨.

Surely Mowbray will just step aside because it's Middlesbrough though? Whilst at it sign a shite 'Boro player to allow room in their wage budget for Ruddock.

Hibernation season and just hope for the best, then start over again under a new manager (hopefully) in 2022/23

That is 100% the reason why I have lost heart, interest and the desire to commit financially to watch Rovers this season, maybe forever.

It's taken over a decade of decline but now I've never felt more apathetic, disconnected or dispassionate for Blackburn Rovers Football Club as I do currently.

Cheers to you Tony, Steve, Madam, Owen, Steve, Paul, Jerome, Shebby, and all the rest of you rotten charlatans that have - and continue to - defecate on the legacy of Jack Walker daily for the past decade+.

Ps. (Since that was in the wrong thread) Southampton swindled us into paying £5m for Sam Gallagher... They should have to pay an additional £6m above asking price out of principal. 🤣
