Think who, and if, someone comes in after reed and Rodwell will be the defining transfer of this window. The squad is threadbare which can be seen by looking at the bench from last night. Positives from these though is that no one knew anything about Rodwell or Reed before Mowbray mentioned them. Why were they not leaked?

Rothwell was phenomenal last night, showed a lot of attacking threat but also a lot of heart in defence. Reed for me would be a better signing than Rodwell, don’t need two midfielders and Reed has performed more recently. Rodwell just seems like a lost cause, but if Mowbray sees something in him then I’m all for it. Desperately in need of attacking additions though.

Can we forget about chapman please? As much as I like him he’s too injury prone and possibly not good enough to hold down a starting place in this team

Brereton, Freeman and Bauer would be absolute dream business.

Bennett and Graham were good signings then, the rest were mediocre. Compared to some of Mowbray's signings.

Yeah but being fair would you have given £10 million for Lambert to spend. What he got out of the team was mediocre at best, admittedly he did make some shrewd signings but nowhere near to success that Mowbray has had with similar funds.

Yes but Karanka and forest are obviously going all out for promotion this season, and currently Grabban is a better bet for goals. Whereas Mowbray has stated several times that he is building a team, so buying players with potential. The only reason people are bothered with the (potential) Brereton signing is because they want him to go all out for promotion this season. Which he knows is slightly unrealistic.

Big fee, but trust in Mowbray. I’ve heard about brereton a lot from my friends, never personally seen him play, but he’s gonna be next level in my opinion. Don’t have any facts to back that up however. Also I think 5-6 million is the going fee for young, English players who have played for England at youth level and is relatively experienced in the championship.

The bids for Freeman and brereton, whilst admirable, have obviously just been placed to placate fans. I am absolutely certain that there was no intention of signing either of those players.

The highest bid was 1.5 million, and Hibs wanted closer to 3 million. Not an unreasonable amount of money for us especially as he’s on the last year of his contract. Armstrong is a very good signings, 10+ goals this season from him.

If we can buy Armstrong for 3 million, then McGinn doesn't seem like a player who would be out of our budget, especially as he will be on much lower wages than Armstrong. McGinn, Armstrong, Maddison, Bauer? that would be a very very good window. Just hope some things materialise in the next couple of days.

He definitely improves the starting 11, but true I doubt we’re getting him.
