  1. Literally haven’t heard one person say he would be a bad signing.
  2. He’s a good keeper, but don’t really see how he’s better than Raya tbh, but if the experienced option is someone like Forster then GK would be massively improved
  3. If Raya does leave then I'd love to see Forster come in on a free. He would literally be the perfect replacement.
  4. Yes, but we’re not going to sign Friedel (or someone of an equivalent standard) to replace him. I can honestly see us starting with Leutwiller for the first game of the season.
  5. Seeing the same names, and obvious links such as Hanley and Gallagher may not be indicative of a lack of targets but more of the success that the club has in keeping its targets under wraps. If you look at last summer, where the Freeman and Brereton links came out of nowhere then this may back this up.
  6. No doubt he’s a solid player, I remember my stoke supporting mate saying he had one of the first worst touches he’d seen. But I do think he would provide something quite different to the current strike force in terms of athleticism. He has an impressive scoring records in some good leagues - Ereverdisie and the prem - so probably worth a punt if not too expensive. Which I would have thought he would be
  7. Does he have the drive anymore? Seems like after his move to city he’s sort of faded away
  8. Pretty resounding no to McCormack then haha. I think Okazaki is out of contract too in the summer, would that be realistic?
  9. Would anyone take Ross McCormack on a free transfer? Haven’t heard much about him recently but he’s just been released by Villa
  10. They were having to cut back on spending at the start of this window due to FFP before the new investors came in. They don’t seem to have any significant sales. Plus Abraham will cost a bomb with the loan fee and wages! The loan fee for Sam Gallagher put off most clubs so imagine what it’s like for Abraham
  11. If they don’t go up this season surely they are ruined? Otherwise FFP can fuck off
  12. Remember Mowbray saying that Chapman was ‘desperate’ to come back at the start of the window
  13. Seen some snippets of him playing preseason for Boro and tearing it up. Didn’t look like it had affected him mentally.
  14. Very strange comments, whilst his defensive qualities may be questionable his attacking threats and pace are plain to see.
  15. If Mowbray can get Dack for 750k imagine what he can get for 6 big ones
  16. Yeah the openness of Mowbray and Waggott about how many/when we were going to get them/how much money we had was the negative side of this window as it meant that our expectations were elevated. I would assume that most people would have been fairly happy with spending 2-3 million in transfer fees in a window on 5 players so far at the start of the window. It is only because we've been told (by the media) that we have lodged bids with a lot of money that people are fussing. And if Brereton happens, which I have a good feeling it will do, we'll not only have spent around 10 million (presumably) we'll have assembled a very competitive squad.
  17. Long term contracts for Lenihan, Dack, Williams and Smallwood. Rothwell, Davenport, Palmer, Armstrong, Rodwell. Plus still a week left of the window. I'd say he's bought Palmer, Rothwell and Palmer that improve the starting 11, the rest are good squad fillers. Really don't see what everyone is losing their heads about.
  18. Summed up perfectly. If those four players come in we'll have brought in 8 players, of which only two will be proper loans.
