STATUS UPDATE I've got some space lined up temporarily and just copied a version of the board from last night (hence why site was down) If all goes to plan, then sometime tomorrow morning i'll disable posting access to this board to everybody except News Editors, Mods and Admin. (And also suspend new registrations) Once thats done, I will backup the posts, topics and member database from this site. These will then be restored onto the new server, and a new temporary URL issued. We've replaced a striker who has got 4-5 goals a season recently with one who hit 14 last year in a worse team. Although your general point is spot on, that we cannot be getting shut of Cole without having another top class replacement lined up.

This site is a victim of its own success. Our host has moved us to another server.. which means it will be much slower. ( a polite way of telling us to go forth and multiply ) The pressure is for us to upgrade to a managed server at £120 a month.. which just isnt going to happen. As always, we will come up with something, but with Glenn on hols and me going away at the end of the week, it may be a case of living with it for a while. If I can get the site moved by Thursday, then theres a chance. I'm hoping to find something that keeps us going for at least 12 months, but our bandwidth and hit count is so high, that unless we get some serious sponsorship in the future, i'm not confident of providing the same level of service.

Personally I think Al's second post sums up my opinion. Its close season, and theres very little of interest to talk about. We seem to have this discussion every year at about this time. I also think that quality on this board is related closely to the quality of product that Rovers are giving us. As for one liners, theres a balance to be struck somewhere, in that 3 pages of 1 liners can take something off topic completely. Some threads also seem to run their course, but then end up with the same old argument repeated, probably because theres actually been no real developments. Case in points being the Souness must go and the Matteo threads. (Although there are still valid questions to be asked, good posts get lost in the middle of these 30 page megathreads)
