I haven't include Buckley or Garrett in my list.Β

and my list including Tyjon, Montgomery and Michalski. That's it so how is alot of unproven youth?Β

Ok, my apologies for the confusion but I'm talking about the official squad and not a list someone on here has put together that's completely subjectiveΒ πŸ˜‚.

Noticed you didn't acknowledge the point on squad quality. As I say, its not just about numbers....it's about having players who are good enoughΒ πŸ™‚.

If we signed 3 more we have 26 players in the squad, how much bigger do you want?Β

That only applies if there are no further outgoings. There will be more than likely be a couple of loan outgoings, Batty for example.....and possibly one or two permanent departures if they can shift the likes of Buckley.

That aside, its not as simple as squad size. How many of them are actually good enough? That squad is currently getting padded out with a lot of unproven youth.

Think the main issue Wrexham will have to face in the Championship is their manager - his record in the Championship isn't great.

Parkinson I think is a lower league (1 & 2) 'specialist' but like a number of other managers we've seen, struggles at a higher level.

Would be no surprise to me to see Wrexham change their manager before Christmas - they are spending a lot of dough and expectation levels will be very high.

I agree, would not be at all surprised if they end up making a change. He's done a great job to get them up to the Championship but I'd be very surprised / impressed if he took them any further.

Not for the rumored Β£70k p.w.Β

Β£2m and 70k a week for a 33 year old defender who's clearly winding down now that he's got a gig on 5Live as well. I'd say its a terrible piece of business.

Good luck to them, at least they have the money to chuck around....just not sure that Coady is a particularly sensible signing if those numbers are correct.

  5. Can't say I know anything about Miller from Hibs, but on paper it seems like a decent signing. I just wish these deals weren't always just to replace an outgoing player, as it always feels like the club are just playing catch-up.

Real shame to lose Brittain, who after an initial 18 months of being very inconsistent seemed to really kick on last year and became a key player, arguably the best RB in the league. The club have massively fumbled his contract, as I suspect they will for Travis and Tronstad as well. Notice how talk of Hyam signing a new deal has gone quiet again? He'll be another one that walks for nothing.

I suppose at least the club are getting some money for Brittain. Hopefully Miller and Alebiosu are enough to cover the RB spot.

De Neve has started most of the pre-season games, so assume VI rates him over Kargbo, who has largely come off the bench.

Kargbo definitely seems to be seen as more of a finisher in games instead of a starter. I think that's fair as well, someone like him with pace to burn coming on after an hour has the potential to cause defenders all sorts of problems. If he can replicate his cameo against Plymouth at home last season on a consistent basis then he'll do ok.

LT saying we are hopeful of 2 more signings before the window shuts πŸ™„is this with Baradji? Was hoping for more tbh.

The club never learns. They'll always do the absolute bare minimum in terms of recruitment, sometimes less.

Come December these players will be dead on their feet ahead of another disastrous January window. The cycle continues.

Agree with others that it’s strange they are happy to let him leave in their current predicament. Unless they are cash strapped and need money to pay transfer instalments/ salaries

Could be a similar scenario to when Coventry needed to sell Hyam....but having said that with Hull being under embargo you'd think they need to keep hold of all the players they can.

They played well yesterday. Shows what a good coach can do.

Crazy that a lot of their fans seemed to want him gone at one point or another last season. Chelsea fans aren't used to giving a manager / head coach time I suppose.

Who says he came here as back up player?Β

I think there was a general expectancy, wasn't there? Last summer I'm pretty sure we were all definitely anticipating Hyam and Carter being first choice paring, which is how the season started as well with Batth initially making sub appearances and started in the League Cup games. It was quite clear Batth came to be backup because that Hyam / Carter partnership was already well established.

Batth ended up being more of a key player than I think any of us thought he would, and that's great. Its a real shame we couldn't keep him for another year and ease the need for signing another CB.

Stress fractures in the foot can be problematical.

Normal healing process takes up to 3 months and if they don't heal properly surgery is inevitable sometimes necessitating re-fracturing the bone and you are back to square one!Β  Have known footballers be out for 6 to 12 months in some cases.

Think this might well be dead in the water now.

Agree. Expect any talk of the deal quietly dissipating over the next few days with Jackson posting a one linear in an article saying Rovers have moved on from it.

Better to not pursue it though. We need someone to hit the ground running, not someone who isn't ready and then takes months to bed in. Can't afford to have any passengers in the squad given how the club operate. As we found out after January with Dennis and Kargbo both failing to make an impact.

Carter's already hobbled off injured in his first game of the season, that's part of the reason a new Hyam contract would be very much welcomed, at least he can stay bloody fit

Carter's injury proneness has become a real problem. I feel for him, but the team needs someone more reliable to partner Hyam.

We also can't expect Scott Wharton to just fill the void after his own long term injury. The club desperately needs a replacement for Danny Batth.

  13. With the way Rovers are run its no surprise that players tend to want out when another club shows interest.

Sadly there just isn't any loyalty in football anymore, but even if there was, why would some of these players want to hang around at a club that's clearly being run into the ground through sheer negligence...especially when those other clubs will offer better pay.

So when Brittain goes I won't be bitter about it towards him, although I don't agree with him saying no to playing. The only saving grace is that the club will get some money in for him...whether that money is spent on a new player or two I'm very doubtful, as I'm sure we all are.

Shame about Baradji. Of the players we've signed or have been close to signing, he looked like one of the better ones. On to the next one I suppose....is it now time to look at who got relegated from the Austrian Bundesliga last seasonΒ πŸ˜‚
