2025 Summer Transfer Thread. ๐

Kargbo definitely seems to be seen as more of a finisher in games instead of a starter. I think that's fair as well, someone like him with pace to burn coming on after an hour has the potential to cause defenders all sorts of problems. If he can replicate his cameo against Plymouth at home last season on a consistent basis then he'll do ok. -

The club never learns. They'll always do the absolute bare minimum in terms of recruitment, sometimes less. Come December these players will be dead on their feet ahead of another disastrous January window. The cycle continues. -

Hedges was pretty awful in that. RW needs to be one of the priority positions to bring in during the remainder of the window. -

That's what you want from Gueye. Long ball forward from Toth and the defender can't deal with Gueye who finished calmly. -

I imagine they'll announce the Hull defender as a new signing at the game tomorrow. -

Could be a similar scenario to when Coventry needed to sell Hyam....but having said that with Hull being under embargo you'd think they need to keep hold of all the players they can. -

I know its only Tuesday but you can tell this week is a stinker when the only news is Brittain supposedly having talks with Boro and Elliott's coverage in the LT is an interview with Bradley Dack ๐. No disrespect to Dacky, love the guy...but it's not the news I want to see right now ๐ . -
Crazy that a lot of their fans seemed to want him gone at one point or another last season. Chelsea fans aren't used to giving a manager / head coach time I suppose.

I think there was a general expectancy, wasn't there? Last summer I'm pretty sure we were all definitely anticipating Hyam and Carter being first choice paring, which is how the season started as well with Batth initially making sub appearances and started in the League Cup games. It was quite clear Batth came to be backup because that Hyam / Carter partnership was already well established. Batth ended up being more of a key player than I think any of us thought he would, and that's great. Its a real shame we couldn't keep him for another year and ease the need for signing another CB. -

Agree. Expect any talk of the deal quietly dissipating over the next few days with Jackson posting a one linear in an article saying Rovers have moved on from it. Better to not pursue it though. We need someone to hit the ground running, not someone who isn't ready and then takes months to bed in. Can't afford to have any passengers in the squad given how the club operate. As we found out after January with Dennis and Kargbo both failing to make an impact. -

I thought they'd said they weren't looking to bring in two CBs, just one. Assuming that's why they've been trying for Kapuadi from Legia Warsaw...? Would he (or someone else) not essentially be Batth's replacement? -

Carter's injury proneness has become a real problem. I feel for him, but the team needs someone more reliable to partner Hyam. We also can't expect Scott Wharton to just fill the void after his own long term injury. The club desperately needs a replacement for Danny Batth. -

With the way Rovers are run its no surprise that players tend to want out when another club shows interest. Sadly there just isn't any loyalty in football anymore, but even if there was, why would some of these players want to hang around at a club that's clearly being run into the ground through sheer negligence...especially when those other clubs will offer better pay. So when Brittain goes I won't be bitter about it towards him, although I don't agree with him saying no to playing. The only saving grace is that the club will get some money in for him...whether that money is spent on a new player or two I'm very doubtful, as I'm sure we all are. Shame about Baradji. Of the players we've signed or have been close to signing, he looked like one of the better ones. On to the next one I suppose....is it now time to look at who got relegated from the Austrian Bundesliga last season ๐ -

Those quotes from Ismael in the LT read like just the beginnings of the next head coach to fall foul of the way Rovers is run as a club. Before too long he'll be just as fed up as JDT and Eustace became in the end....it wouldn't be at all a surprise, and I'm not even that fond of Ismael. It feels like every season its a messy summer followed by a new years implosion. -

Amazing isn't it how people are so easily swayed to hate on a player when we all know the club is about as functional as a chocolate teapot. Quick get the snake inflatables out again. -

This. A club run by proper football people that know what they're doing get these contracts sorted. Instead we've got Cirque du Suhail handling it. -

I don't see too many downsides for Derby. They survived relegation and would be strengthening on what they had whilst weakening another side in the same league. -
European competitions 25/26
sharpysharps86 replied to philipl's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
That is the saving grace. Conference League is entirely winnable for most premier league teams if they commit to it as Chelsea and West Ham have done previously. Palace the last two seasons as well have been really strong in the latter part of seasons, so you could imagine them going on a bit of run in a competition like the conference league. Who takes their place in the Europa League? -

Oh dear. Just when things were looking slightly better. Can't imagine Brittain staying now that official bids have been lodged, unless he's really settled at the club. Imagine if both he and Dolan end up at Derby. Pretty embarrassing stuff. -

All the best to JRC. At one point under JDT he was immense, if only he had been able to kick on and become a key player. If Charlton can get a tune out of him then they've got a decent player, but it was definitely time for him to move on from Rovers. Things had gone very stale for him at the club. Same with Buckley, he needs a fresh start elsewhere.
