  1. Aren't Genoa on the verge of selling their right back? Inter and Everton strongly linked. Surely they'll be back in with another offer for Alebiosu.
  2. I was really hopeful about Henriksson, thought he'd be what we needed. Sadly he's clearly not at Championship level...not yet anyway. Maybe he'll be ok in League One, but I think that would be his limit. I do have some sympathy with the player, as he's more often than not been played out of position. Another square peg signing. Too many of 'em.
  3. Fully expected after Ismael said yesterday that Alebiosu wouldn't be leaving 😂
  4. This is a very valid point. The lack of chances created is horrendous. Gudjohnsen we know can put chances away, but he is a poacher, a Jordan Rhodes type forward. If you're not creating chances then it doesn't matter who is playing up front. Equally, Gudjohnsen has had his good goalscoring run when playing alongside another forward, so having him as a lone striker is not ideal. The players brought in have created more problems than solutions in that there is no clearly correct system to play.
  5. I completely agree on that last line. The problem is that any manager or head coach who has that ability will simply get fed up of the lack of ambition, as we have found out in recent years.
  6. Mowbray would be a huge upgrade on Ismael, but I think he's probably done now after the poor return to WBA last year.
  7. Neither Kean or Coyle had a run like this.
  8. I've had enough of Cantwell. He is absolutely a con artist.
  9. Nah, not for me, the squad is nowhere near that thanks to the awful recruitment. There are some League Two standard lads in there in De Neve and Henriksson...but a proper head coach who knows what they're doing wouldn't persist with some of those players and would have had the team closer to mid table.
  10. I was going to ask if there was any sort of response from the crowd. I imagined it would just be mostly apathy at this point.
  11. Doesn't he already have a worse record than Kean as well?
  12. I'm resigned to relegation...but please for the love of god, Ismael needs to go.
  13. Calling it now: Alebiosu sold at the last minute, no replacement signed Unproven, unheard of striker comes in (if we're lucky) The end.
  14. With Ismael saying Gudjohnsen will be on the bench, I imagine we will now line-up like this: Toth Alebiosu Miller McLoughlin Cashin Tronstad Forshaw Jorgensen Cantwell Miroshita Ohashi I'd personally quite like to see Jorgensen down the middle with Ohashi dropping to the bench. Alebiosu pushed further up field, Miller at RB and O'Riordan at CB.
  15. With this lot I wouldn't even be surprised if it was Kazuyoshi Miura - that 58 year old Japanese striker
  16. I think the system works better for everyone who's available except for Gudjohnsen, who I recall was quite isolated in that role before they switched to 2 up front.
  17. He would certainly terrorise defenders
  18. Dunno what's gone on with him but 2 goals in 22 appearances in League One is quite the drop off. He managed 10 for Derby last season. Maybe just a case of Luton not being a good fit.
  19. This is turning into a worse window than last year.
  20. If there are other teams in for Cadamarteri then I can't see him ending up at Rovers. Millwall supposedly have had a bid rejected now, so wouldn't be surprised if they go back in with another if that was their first bid.
  21. I still believe Rovers will sign a striker...but it'll either be the lad from Wednesday, a completely unheard leftfield Telalovic type, or Paul Mullin. 🥲
  22. The Reyes Cleary thing just doesn't sound right. Where is he playing if he signs for Rovers? Wide left? Up top alongside Gudjohnsen? Not a clue what the reasoning is because there is no clear plan for what system we're supposed to be playing. the 3-5-2 was always a system that they stumbled into, but it doesn't work without Hedges and Alebiosu in the same side. Equally Gudjohnsen isn't really a lone striker either, so playing 4-2-3-1 isn't suitable for our best finisher. It all stinks of poor planning and no one person with a clear vision ultimately. Having said all that, I fully expect Cleary to go to Bristol City anyway 😂.
  23. League One would eat Tavares alive 😂
