  1. I singled it out because it was a poor piece of play, not because of who the player was...there is a difference. Doesn't matter whether he's been on the pitch for 5 minutes of 85, he should be doing better there. Do you disagree? I'd have said the same thing if it was any other player in that scenario.
  2. Ok I'll take the bait. Am I not allowed to say Gueye should've done better there? No agenda at all. My criticism is that he should've been able to keep himself onside, and then he should've been able to put it in the net. I think it was poor play and he should've done better. Do you disagree? I want nothing more than Gueye to be a top striker, why would I have an agenda against a Rovers player? Weird take that. Equally, I think we're all allowed to say when a player should've done better in a particular moment.
  3. Sensational result. Rovers were excellent today. Hull may have been poor but Rovers did a job on them. Reminded me a touch of Norwich away under JDT. Alebiosu appears to be a very good signing. Early days but looking like shrewd business. Hedges was very good. Need him to turn up and be like that more often than not. He deservedly gets stick on here, but today he was great looked up for it.....and arguably should've had a hat trick. Definitely prefer Kargbo on the right. Cantwell - class above everyone else on the pitch. Maybe the captains armband has reminded him how good he can be. Big player for Rovers this season. My only real criticism is with Gueye. Couldn't keep himself onside for that one chance, and didn't even put it in the net anyway. Poor. The need for a striker is clear as Ohashi will put in the work rate and deserved a goal....but he does get bullied and the first touch isn't great. Just a joy to watch overall.
  4. Last time Rovers lost the first 3 league games was 2016/17, it was the infamous Cardiff away defeat when Shane Duffy scored 2 own goals and got sent off. We all know how that season ended. Obviously a long way to go but Rovers really need to get something on the board. The starting XI is probably the best they can do in the current circumstances, but I just don't see enough creativity in that team. First goal is crucial. If Hull score it then I can't see Rovers finding a way back.
  5. Can hoof the ball up to Gueye all they want, the fella can't time his jumps properly and is more likely to elbow a defender in the face than connect with the ball.
  6. Is Baradji genuinely injured or is that just a rumour?
  7. What do you mean 'but'...I didn't mention them because the club are clearly trying to offload them. Man it's like having a debate with the Riddler 😂.
  8. I would now what? I don't understand what you're saying there. Every signing we have made so far is pretty much a replacement for an outgoing player. No stock piling there. Most people on here are saying we need a RW and a Striker, and then a Trav replacement, and I think that's entirely fair. The striker would essentially be a replacement for Weimann. The RW is a spot we are clearly lacking in as we only have one recognised right winger, and then the Trav replacement is again (drum roll).....another replacement. Again, not really stock piling is it. 🙂 I haven't even said we should be stock piling, I don't think anyone else has either(?). You're the one who said "we can't keep stock piling players" as though that's what the club have been doing. My point was simply this - the club haven't been stock piling anything. I don't think the concept of needing to get rid of players when you bring new ones in is anything anybody disagrees with, but you're the one who said "we can't keep stock piling players", which I found to be an odd statement to make given we haven't. 🙂
  9. But they haven't been doing that. Your point is only relevant if Rovers are doing that. 🙂
  10. Appreciate that but the way your post was phrased implied that Rovers have been stock piling players....and they definitely haven't been. 🙂
  11. Keep stock piling players? Rovers haven't stock piled anything. They've literally just replaced what they've lost, haven't they??? JRC - Alebiosu Brittain - Miller Batth - McLoughlin De Neve - Beck Henriksson - Dolan Tavares - soon to be departing Travis Nobody - Weimann I don't see any stock piling. Please give context.
  12. Rovers recruitment reminds me of the The Simpsons monorail episode. It won't be long before Rudy is bragging about bringing players in from Brockway, Ogdenville and North Haverbook. 😂
  13. Well I don't expect to see any new arrivals in time for this one, so pending injuries I reckon it'll be the same starting XI as Birmingham game, which is probably as good a team as can be managed right now. Hull 1 - 1 Rovers (Ohashi)
  14. Alebiosu and McLoughlin look like the picks of the new signings so far. Long throw aside, not been that impressed by Miller. Looks a clumsy type defensively. Axel and De Neve well off it.
  15. Hyam and Tronstad were Broughton signings, so that checks out. More grim times ahead.
  16. Pickering has his limitations but I'd have him on over De Neve every day of the week.
  17. Right winger, Trav replacement, and a centre forward are all desperately needed. Even then, the quality in squad depth is so poor. De Neve and Axel are not good enough options off the bench. If Alebiosu has a bad injury then we've only got one right back at the club, who's actually better as a right sided CB anyway. Shambolic.
  18. I think it can be both. The team didn't deserve to lose, but you're completely right, this is exactly what happens when the core of solid championship team is removed and replaced with inexperience. Only McLoughlin has played at this level previously from all the new players, and it shows. Agreed - relegation battle it is. Hull away is already a big game next weekend.
  19. 2011/12, 2016/17...both seasons felt like there was an inevitability that Rovers would go down and I'm getting the same feeling again with this one. Credit to the players in that they put in a shift and didn't really deserve to lose...but you make your own luck and Birmingham took their chances. Rovers are far too soft in attack to do that. Hope Alebiosu is ok, seems like he has started the season well overall. Ultimately though...it has a feel of a ragtag bunch of players thrown together, and that doesn't bode well at all for the season. I struggle to see where the first win comes from.
  20. Hopefully this time next week there is a new right winger at the club and that's the last time Hedges starts for a while.
  21. Suspect Rovers need to score to get anything from the game. Birmingham have been kept quiet but they'll likely get a chance or two in the 2nd half as defensive legs get tired. The problem is if Rovers go behind, they'll be very unlikely to come back at all.
