  1. Pickering has his limitations but I'd have him on over De Neve every day of the week.
  2. Right winger, Trav replacement, and a centre forward are all desperately needed. Even then, the quality in squad depth is so poor. De Neve and Axel are not good enough options off the bench. If Alebiosu has a bad injury then we've only got one right back at the club, who's actually better as a right sided CB anyway. Shambolic.
  3. I think it can be both. The team didn't deserve to lose, but you're completely right, this is exactly what happens when the core of solid championship team is removed and replaced with inexperience. Only McLoughlin has played at this level previously from all the new players, and it shows. Agreed - relegation battle it is. Hull away is already a big game next weekend.
  4. 2011/12, 2016/17...both seasons felt like there was an inevitability that Rovers would go down and I'm getting the same feeling again with this one. Credit to the players in that they put in a shift and didn't really deserve to lose...but you make your own luck and Birmingham took their chances. Rovers are far too soft in attack to do that. Hope Alebiosu is ok, seems like he has started the season well overall. Ultimately though...it has a feel of a ragtag bunch of players thrown together, and that doesn't bode well at all for the season. I struggle to see where the first win comes from.
  5. Hopefully this time next week there is a new right winger at the club and that's the last time Hedges starts for a while.
  6. Suspect Rovers need to score to get anything from the game. Birmingham have been kept quiet but they'll likely get a chance or two in the 2nd half as defensive legs get tired. The problem is if Rovers go behind, they'll be very unlikely to come back at all.
  7. True....so then maybe Travis has simply had a falling out with someone, Suhail and Gestede probably, and Ismael has been told not to pick him. Its irrelevant either way. We know the club have messed up with the player contracts so it's ultimately on them to not be so utterly incompetent.
  8. Very early on in the summer, pretty much as soon as he returned from Milan.
  9. Club are hardly going to come out and say Travis wanted to play are they. They're in the process of selling him, can't risk an injury to happen.
  10. He struggled as captain in his previous stint when JDT gave him the armband. Don't recall him ever wearing it since. Don't think he wants the pressure of it.
  11. Batth and Sanderson starting in a defensive 3 that's conceded 5. Combine that with the 3 away at Stoke and looks like Eustace has a bit of defensive work to do. Where's that Agyemang that they signed from the MLS? Injured?
  12. Hell of a game between Derby and Coventry
  13. Hyam probably doesn't want the armband...only Tronstad would've been the other candidate. Surprised he's gone with Kargbo from the off, but hopefully he can make more of an impact as a starter. Hedges though... 🙄
  14. BRFCPivy is 100% a club person. Has probably been told to say that.
  15. Windass just pulled his hamstring as well. I can't see Parkinson seeing the season out with Wrexham. He's a top end of league one manager at best.
  16. Raya - Future top 4 premier league goalie Lenihan - Young albeit injury prone promising centre half Mulgrew - Set piece specialist and leader Conway - Top tier championship winger Graham - Proven centre forward at championship level Only one we have that is remotely similar now is Carter for Lenihan. Scary how much better that group of players looks compared to what we have now.
  17. We look so blunt in attack that I'll be impressed if we manage to get a shot on target never mind score a goal. I suspect Miller's long throw will be our main goal threat.
  18. According to Nixon Rovers have let Mafoumbi go to make space for a new signing. Feel for Mafoumbi...was probably never going to make it but the club have absolutely wasted his time. Hope he gets himself a club very quickly. So who's it going to be...Baradji or unnamed right winger?
  19. Bizarre, overly defensive statement with the maturity of a toddler throwing a tantrum. Thanks Suhail.
  20. Ridiculous fee for Broadhead, especially with him only having a year left on his Ipswich contract. Having said that, I'd love to have Wrexham's owners at Rovers.
  21. For any other club, yes. Not at this club though.
  22. Hate everything the club currently is. They're slowly but surely removing the players that formed an extremely together group of players that despite some limitations, fought for each other and had us punching around the playoffs. By the end of this window, we look likely to have lost Batth, Weimann, Dolan, Brittain and Travis...with the possibility of Hyam and Tronstad to follow as well given they're probably not signing new deals either. That's basically the core of the team from last season. What are we left with: A bunch of mostly ill equipped strangers with not enough championship experience between them, nor an understanding of what the club means to the fans....oh and don't forget Gueye - the comic relief. Where are the leaders going to come from?? I suspect I already know the answer - they're not coming. This isn't a Rovers team anymore, which suitably reflects how this isn't the football club we once knew. How anyone could possibly put a positive spin on the situation beggars belief.
