Eustace…he gone…*official*

That would imply they keep up to speed with events at the club and that they actually care 😂. -

Is it time to start a new manager thread? Clubs don't often make official approaches for a manager if they deal isn't pretty much already done. I can only think of the fella at QPR, Beale, who knocked back a premier league club (only to eff off to Rangers 2 weeks later mind) as a recent example of a club making an approach for a manager and not being successful. -

In isolation it wasn't a particularly bad performance, but it could've been a heavier defeat in truth. A pretty standard huff and puff with no end product affair. Reminded me a lot of the Burnley defeat last month. Wolves never really got out of 2nd gear, and it could've easily been 4-0. Kargbo, Dennis and Ribeiro all look like they'll offer something, which is a positive. Can't really judge Woodrow after that as the game had got away from them by the time he came on, and he ended up playing CM for much of his time on the pitch. Thought Forshaw probably had his best performance today. Not that it says much, but he looked ok for the most part and in some ways id prefer him to start games alongside Travis than the petulant Buckley. -

A deeply frustrating player. Can't understand what he's trying to do half the time, and the other half he is sluggishly dallying on the ball, or being petulant off it. It's like playing with 10 men. -

Yep. Perhaps I'm being cynical on the end product, it's just a gut feeling. It just looks to me like after he's done a few stepovers if he hasn't beaten his man then he has no clue what to do with it. The disclaimer is he is up against much stronger opposition than you'll get in the Championship though. -

Hilarious? No. Embarrassing? Yes Is JE is going to Derby then its a clear indication that Rovers are a complete mess and a circus (as if we didn't know it already). Granted he is taking a huge risk by going to a Derby side that look destined for the drop, but that's on him. -

Weird game. Rovers arguably unfortunate to be 2 nil down here, and could easily be at least level or leading had the 'offside' goal been correctly given. A few thoughts: Toth is absolutely worse than Pears. Cantwell having an absolute stinker. Seems to happen more often than not. Can't pick a pass and dallies on the ball in dangerous positions. Forshaw and Buckley actually doing ok for the most part. Kargbo while clearly a lively sort, you can tell he has no end product. Is at least exciting in that he runs at players. Dennis looks decent enough for someone who has barely played any football in 9 months. Wolves somewhat fortunate but they showed quality when they needed to. -

Indeed, this season is now starting to have the same feel as the one when Lambert was in charge. We all know what happened after that. -

Yeah that's probably the more likely outcome than anything. Rooney is going into punditry by the sounds of it, which tbf he is probably better at than managing / coaching! -

The scariest part about all of this is the list of managers currently available should the worst happen and Eustace does leave. We'd end up with Gerard or Rooney. Christ -

If Derby are prepared to pay up for him then Eustace will probably go. I would assume the only reason he hasn't gone anywhere else yet is because other interested clubs didn't want to pay the compensation. Let's be realistic, if WBA had wanted to pay up then he'd be there now instead of still at Rovers. It'll sum up the situation at the club if they lose a manager to a team currently in the bottom 3 when Rovers sit in the top 6 at this moment in time. Pretty embarrassing really. -

Hopefully the new signings all get a decent amount of minutes in this one, we certainly need to rest some regulars. That being said, I don't think Eustace will play a vastly different team, and as much as I'd like to rest Travis ahead of an important game at West Brom, the idea of Forshaw and Buckley starting together scares the hell out of me. Toth JRC Batth Hyam Ribeiro Travis Forshaw Dolan Woodrow Kargbo Gueye I don't think Dennis will start. For him to come in and start against premier league side after not playing a competitive game since last season is a big ask IMO. Expecting him to come off the bench though. Gueye against premier league defenders should be entertaining at least! On the midfield...here's the thing: I don't rate Forshaw at all, probably one of the worst signings we've made in years....BUT I do think he's more suited to the Tronstad role than Buckley, which is why I've got him starting over Buckley and alongside Travis. It is a bit like picking between two turds unfortunately 😂. I think Wolves will have too much on the day. I'll go 0-2 defeat. -

Finally put out of his misery, they have dropped off a cliff in recent weeks and face a huge fight to stay in the league. We'll probably lose to them on 8th March though, it's our specialty to lose away at relegation threatened sides it seems 🥲 -

Pretty unsurprising that Siggy has been left out. The guy is made of glass. Its such a shame as when he first got into the team under JDT he looked to be a very good player. I would've been surprised if he'd featured again this season regardless of being registered or not so for me it makes a lot of sense to leave him out. Shame that it's not worked out, but it's best he moves on. A return to Scandinavia seems the most sensible move for him. -
FA Cup - season 2024-25

Hopefully Eustace is able to make a few changes and give some players a much needed breather. Would like to see Ribeiro, Kargbo, Woodrow and Dennis all get minutes but I don't think JE will make sweeping changes against a premier league side. -

sharpysharps86 replied to TheRevAshton's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Hopefully the cup game means opportunities for Ribeiro, Dennis, Kargbo and Woodrow to all get minutes and be in contention to play some part in this game, as another game with that same forward line is going to be pretty unbearable, particularly Hedges and Dolan out wide. Lord knows we need better options off the bench, as the last few games have shown we seem to be weaker after making changes. Sadly I think WBA will be well up for this, and with Armstrong likely to make his league debut for them I expect him to score. 3-1 defeat as we slip out of the top 6 again. -
News From Other Leagues

Very strange appointment that. Doubt he'll be there next season if / when they go down to the National League. Sadly his biggest mistake was leaving Rovers really. Never got a fair crack at Man City either, but you can't argue with the fact that they replaced him with Mancini who won the title with them. -

sharpysharps86 replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Typically predictable result. Tuesday night away in London, in a fixture that was seemingly unnecessarily brought forward instead of pushed further back. I'm afraid JE got the subs wrong again last night, and bringing Forshaw and JRC on together when 2-1 down...well that just about sums it up. Not to mention the awful Hedges staying on until the 87th minute. There is a host of sides now forming a queue to push for the top 6, and Rovers look like they could easily drop to 12th or 13th in a couple of weeks. West Brom away next week....I just can't see anything other than a defeat in that one. Adam Armstrong absolutely nailed on to score. Hope I'm wrong. -

It makes him even more frustrating. Excellent penalty, clinical finish....if he could do that more in open play instead of faffing around so much then he'd be a top player at this level. -

Armstrong to West Brom on loan (if it has gone through) has to be the signing of deadline day. That kind of signing is a difference maker, and for a side that has struggled to score frequently this season, Armstrong you would expect will bring them goals. -

Glad I woke up to the news that Rovers didn't eff it up this time, although it's still pretty unclear what they're going to do regarding squad registration. Dennis is a higher calibre player, but time will tell if they can get him up to speed before the season runs out. I'm not expecting him to make an instant impact. Kargbo is hopefully one who surprises us all. As for the rest of the signings...lets face it, they're all squad fillers that gives us more options off the bench. Ribeiro is a decent pick up, but I wish it was a longer contract. Hopefully Woodrow prefers it up north and recaptures his Barnsley form. -

If Dennis signs then we're getting someone who can play across the forward line, gives us options and flexibility. The question will be is how match fit is the lad. Not kicked a ball since last season, what's that all about? Presumably he just didn't manage to get a move in the summer and has been stuck at Forest ever since. -
