  1. It's basically a rumour started by a commentator and we have no idea where they got that from given it hasn't been mentioned anywhere else. It would be good news if it happened, but it doesn't really change anything in terms of the trajectory the club is following at the moment.
  2. No he hasn't. If anything he's been a hindrance every time he's stepped foot on the pitch. I imagine they were trying as Ismael clearly hasn't fancied him since he came in. Aside from a brief spell last season that peaked with WBA away, Gueye has been a woeful signing who simply hasn't developed any sort of intelligence to play at this level. He's also the type of player who clearly needs an arm round his shoulder and I'm not sure Ismael is the type. Ohashi and Gudjohnsen desperately need decent competition so that when substitutions happen it doesn't completely derail the team in an attacking sense. Shame we flogged Leonard to Peterborough really as he would've been a better option than Gueye IMO.
  3. Just looking ahead to the fixtures for the reast of the season, those final 9 games make for very bleak viewing. Millwall away Boro at home Brum away WBA at home Stoke away Coventry at home Sheff United away Southampton away Leicester at home The fact that they've not managed to beat any of the teams around them has me thinking it's inevitable that they go down this season.
  4. Agree with previous post from Kidder. Last season when the fans targeted the 3 execs it caused a bit of a stir and forced them into that woeful interview. However as always with Rovers fans, as soon as the club string a few positive results together the pressure dies off. I could understand it to a certain degree with last season because there were still faint hopes of a playoff place, but this time round there really is no excuse to not be putting sustained pressure on Suhail and Gestede.
  5. Given Alebiosu is gonna be missing for a few games I don't see much other option. Miller at RWB scares the hell out of me.
  6. 1 win in 7 is it now? Piss poor. Millwall and Boro next up 😂
  7. I think Morishita at LWB in Hedges absence would be a better option than De Neve. De Neve is playing at least one division above his level. Hopefully Hedges is back soon.
  8. Tronstad will go. There is no reason to think otherwise based on how the club dealt with Travis, Hyam, Brittain, Dolan, Brereton Diaz, etc. He may well fancy sticking around but the club more than likely won't offer him some deserved improved terms.
  9. No chance he gets sacked. Imagine Tronstad isn't quite fit enough to start, and who knows with Baradji.
  10. The way Gueye hit that when compared to pretty much everyone else just sums him up. No footballing intelligence at all.
  11. 2-1 Pompey. Ohashi for Rovers.
  12. The alarming thing for me is that although they may be sitting outside the bottom 3 at the moment, Rovers have failed to beat any of the teams from 15th place down, excluding Portsmouth and Sheffield Wednesday of course who they are yet to complete a 90 minutes against. 5 of those games were at Ewood as well. Of those 7 matches, 5 were at Ewood if I'm not mistaken, and 4 of them were defeats. We better hope that away form keeps up for the season, otherwise relegation seems the most likely outcome.
  13. I didn't think it could get worse, but unless the club actually stumps up the cash to fix the drainage problems, then we're going to be seeing more abandoned games on the regular at Ewood, essentially taking away watching Rovers play from the fans. It is pathetic. If the game goes ahead then I suspect it'll be a score draw: 1-1. Gudjohnsen for Rovers.
  14. Is this game even going to go ahead? I'd be surprised if the pitch recovers in time for it.
  15. This club is an absolute farce. May as well call off the Oxford game now as well because it's going to be raining all week. Embarrassing.
  16. Simply a must win. There can be no excuses for this one. I imagine it'll be the same starting XI again. Cantwell to probably get a bit more time off the bench. Rovers 2 - 1 Wednesday. I don't think it'll be comfortable.
  17. Decent point on the road in complete isolation, but the big missed chances at 1 nil up and a last gasp goal conceded makes it feel like a bad result. The problem is with home form so poor, Rovers are relying on away wins to keep their head above water. They need to bag a couple of wins from the 3 upcoming home games. Given 2 of the 3 teams they're playing are currently below Rovers in the table, anything less than 6 points would be hugely poor.
  18. Not confident for this. Terrible record against newly promoted teams, Wrexham are in decent form, and Rovers missing several key players still. I sense a Charlton away style result, hope I'm wrong! Same team as Wednesday night probably, as there's not really much in the way of other options!
  19. I don't think I'll ever warm to him, but as RF99 says in his post that doesn't really matter at all. Ultimately wins are all that count and I just hope that he and the players can continue to pick them up at a reasonable rate. 4 wins from the last 5 is very good given injuries, suspensions and a general lack of experience within the team...and in each of the wins this season I have been impressed by the character shown by the players. They are clearly playing for him and each other at this moment in time. However, the bad start and some awful defeats earlier in the season means we will likely be looking over our shoulders until January at least. The games before Christmas are hugely important as to whether we continue to look down rather than up for the duration of the season. At the start of the season and with the mass turnover of players I had no expectations, just hoped that Rovers could stay in the league, as awfully unambitious as that sounds, but that's where my head was and continues to be at. I suppose by that gauge he is doing the required job, as unambitious and depressing as that sounds. I'm far more worried about how the club will probably have a huge squad 'transition' every summer for the foreseeable future than whoever the head coach is.
  20. Agree on Henriksson and Tavares. Any players coming from overseas need to be given time to adjust. I do worry about Tavares attitude and application though...I think that may be a big factor in why we have barely seen the guy in recent weeks. I think the technical ability is there, but the player himself has to want to do the hard work. Henriksson has the potential of a solid championship player IMO, but he needs to get up to speed with the pace of the game at this level. Remember vividly how Tronstad took a while to get going when he first arrived, so I'm hoping its a similar case with Axel.
  21. 2-1 Rovers. Ohashi and Gudjohnsen. Same team if possible.
  22. Scratch that. Derby losing now!
