  1. According to Nixon Rovers have let Mafoumbi go to make space for a new signing. Feel for Mafoumbi...was probably never going to make it but the club have absolutely wasted his time. Hope he gets himself a club very quickly. So who's it going to be...Baradji or unnamed right winger?
  2. Bizarre, overly defensive statement with the maturity of a toddler throwing a tantrum. Thanks Suhail.
  3. Ridiculous fee for Broadhead, especially with him only having a year left on his Ipswich contract. Having said that, I'd love to have Wrexham's owners at Rovers.
  4. For any other club, yes. Not at this club though.
  5. Hate everything the club currently is. They're slowly but surely removing the players that formed an extremely together group of players that despite some limitations, fought for each other and had us punching around the playoffs. By the end of this window, we look likely to have lost Batth, Weimann, Dolan, Brittain and Travis...with the possibility of Hyam and Tronstad to follow as well given they're probably not signing new deals either. That's basically the core of the team from last season. What are we left with: A bunch of mostly ill equipped strangers with not enough championship experience between them, nor an understanding of what the club means to the fans....oh and don't forget Gueye - the comic relief. Where are the leaders going to come from?? I suspect I already know the answer - they're not coming. This isn't a Rovers team anymore, which suitably reflects how this isn't the football club we once knew. How anyone could possibly put a positive spin on the situation beggars belief.
  6. At least Sheffield Wednesday look like they could score a goal πŸ˜‚
  7. They'll be waiting for Trav to go, so they can cushion the blow with a new signing to convince all the deluded happy clappers that everything is just fine πŸ™‚
  8. It is definitely giving Owen Coyle season vibes at the moment.
  9. It'll be another Rudy randomer. No champ experience, will take months to adjust. Still, probably better than Hedges whoever it is (you'd hope anyway!).
  10. Take Trav and Tronstad out of that list and its barely a League One midfield. Tavares sounds promising based on last night, but it looks like Axel is going to need half a season minimum to get up to speed. Feel for Montgomery, he's been overhyped by the club when the reality is he's unlikely to ever be the required standard. League Two at best I suspect. Same with Garrett. Forshaw half retired at this point.
  11. Can't see anything other than a Brum win sadly, even more so after last night. Wouldn't be surprised if it's another chaotic start like last night, and the Boro home game from last season. Rovers 0 - 2 Birmingham Predict that Ismael will go with this team: Toth Miller Hyam McLoughlin Ribeiro Hedges Tavares Tronstad De Neve Cantwell Ohashi Zero goals in that side. Shocking really. This doesn't even look remotely like a Rovers team to me anymore.
  12. If the club supposedly see Montgomery's future as being a CM, why continue to play him at RB?? We just signed two RB's, there's absolutely no need to play him there right now. I'm dreading the Birmingham game on Saturday.
  13. Being owned by Venkys guarantees failure πŸ₯²
  14. Pleasantly surprised that Tyjon starts, disappointed no Kargbo from the off...but maybe the plan is to start him on Saturday.
  15. It feels inevitable that Trav will be moved on, and I'm perhaps more gutted about this than Brittain in a way. Not necessarily in terms of footballing ability, but for what it means in terms of how the club views their playing staff. Trav is the captain, and clearly cares about the club. He was brilliant and a leader for much of last season. Meanwhile the club (Suhail) couldn't give a sh*t about that and Trav's reward for being a leader on and off the pitch is to not be given a new contract, and instead sold off. It makes me embarrassed and ashamed to be a Rovers fan at times, knowing that those who run the club are as rotten as it gets. Baradji may well be a decent player if he comes in as his replacement, but its another player with no champ experience who's most recent experience is getting relegated. Signing a bunch of relegated players breeds a loser's mentality IMO.
  16. Yes, it definitely feels like this could go very much the same way as JDT....team struggling at the wrong end of the table, Ismael starts getting more and more honest in the press over the lack of contract renewals and poor standard of summer signings...exit negotiated by the club and we're back to square one.
  17. Grealish joining Everton on loan for the season. Him and Dewsbury-Hall are two very good signings for them.
  18. His timing for jumps is not good. Needs a lot of work.
  19. Does that simply mean we've found our level - newly promoted League One clubs πŸ˜‚
  20. 100% agree. Alebiosu was doing all the work on the right practically on his own with the non-existent Hedges ahead of him. I was really concerned about him before yesterday but he pleasantly surprised me....maybe my expectations have dropped through the floor in recent seasons but he seemed ok to me.
  21. Ah, yeah that sounds quite key. Didn't realise they had lost those 3.
  22. Impressive result for Bristol City at Sheffield United. Wonder if canning a proven promotion challenger / winner in Wilder and going for Ruben Selles was a good idea. Early days yet I suppose. Could just have been one of those opening day freak results.
