  1. Leicester had a genuinely better chance with Cooper in charge. Obviously his face didn't fit (poor choice of words). Sadly it'll be 2 seasons in a row where the promoted teams all come hurtling back down. Makes me wonder why I'd want to see Rovers in that league again, knowing that they'd likely get stuffed every week....but then I remember its just about the only hope we have of getting new owners in.
  2. And he was pretty awful in it too. Think he's well comfortable in the Soccer Saturday pundit role now anyway. For the best as well!
  3. Well that was dreadful. Nobody comes out of that game with any credit in the bank. All very poor. The team selection was all wrong. It looked like a team picked with too much respect for the opposition and needed to be far braver offensively. Should've been a front 4 of Dolan, Dennis, Kargbo and Gueye to start. Hedges should be about 4th or 5th choice at this point. Best to move on as quickly as possible from today....but they really do need to make an appointment this coming week ahead of Norwich at Ewood.
  4. Which one is going in goal 😂
  5. Kargbo and Dennis on for Weimann and Hedges please.
  6. Gah. Sounds like we've had chances and done the usual away day trick. Hopefully they can claw their way back into it with a couple of subs.
  7. Find him massively irritating myself. Just comes across so badly most of the time.
  8. Ooof, Millwall miss a penalty. That would've been pretty funny 🥲
  9. Yeah personally would've gone with Buckley for Forshaw in the middle, as well as Kargbo for Hedges. Great to see 'O'Hashi' on the bench 😂.
  10. I agree, but I can see him starting this one as I think Lowe will value his defensive duties similarly to having him start against West Brom. Going forward though he is awful. To me it seems more likely that Hedges starts and Kargbo comes off the bench 2nd half.
  11. I doubt it's JDT, but definitely someone close to him. Perhaps one of the coaches he had at Rovers?
  12. Brammall Lane not exactly a happy hunting ground for Rovers in recent years. I suspect Rovers will need a win there to have a chance of finishing top 6 as well. Could be a strange old day.
  13. Ah. Didn't realise they played each other on Monday. That opens the door a little bit for you. The game against Sheffield United will be potentially huge.
  14. Burnley will comfortably finish third now. For their lack of goals, they have won 5-0 and 4-0 in recent weeks, I just suspect it is too little too late in terms of automatics as Leeds and Sheffield United are showing no signs of slowing down. The top four probably stays exactly as it is. You'd have to think that's it for Carrick at Boro now. They were well in control of a playoff place at one point and appear to have bottled it. January appears to have done them more harm than good in terms of recruitment and losing Latte Lath as well.
  15. If true that Karanka is not in the running then that's a huge relief. First time I've seen Pep Lijnders name mentioned in Elliot's LT article. Don't know much about him other than he was a Liverpool coach with Klopp, and has since left Red Bull Salzburg after a brief stint as head coach there.
  16. Call me old fashioned but if you want the job, come to the effing stadium and get a feel for the place.
  17. Karanka would be a terrible appointment. If we thought JDT fell out with players wait till you get a load of this guy. An uninspiring personality and terrible recent record. Only one brief moment of success when at Boro and he managed to make an absolute arse of himself during that as well with that little diva strop he pulled. A (very) poor mans Mourinho. Awful. I'd take any of the other names in the odds over Karanka.
  18. This search is starting to feel a bit like when Henning Berg came in. Wasn't it a couple of weeks of dead ends before they gave Berg the job? Before then he'd not really been mentioned and then suddenly he had the job. Let's hope it doesn't end up with the same set of results once the new fella comes in!
  19. Currently head coach of Charlotte FC in the MLS. Would cost money to bring in so can rule him out 😂. On the plank on Twitter who is 'definitely not Mercer', if they have said we're closing in on Karanka then if anything that reassures me that Karanka won't be coming!
  20. Not particularly concerned about not getting Gary O'Neil. Him and Boro seem like a perfect fit though so wouldn't be surprised if that happens. I still feel like it will inevitably be Karanka because of the Rudy Gestede connection. Karanka also strikes me as the type who'd take just about any job looking at his history in management so far.
  21. I agree. You don't drag a team up to the top 6 in the division whilst being unhappy with the way the club is run if you're not a top pro in your field. That being said, the guy seriously gives me the ick now every time I've seen him talk since he went to Derby 😂.
  22. Dunno about that. Swansea have been on a rotten run and if they do bring someone in it's because they were fully planning to pot the previous head coach. Rovers situation a bit different in that they're in decent form again and the 2 wins on the spin gives them breathing space to bring the right person in for the job. Swansea are in free fall and will possibly rush an appointment through because of that, in the hope that they get the new manager bounce.
  23. Wish Siggy all the best but it just hasn't worked out. When he broke into the team under JDT it looked like he could become the new talisman to replace Brereton Diaz. Had he managed to stay fit then he likely would've adjusted to the Championship and become a key player for Rovers. Sadly not to be.
