  1. Yep. Eustace said that he would be going back out on loan when asked by Andy Bayes in his pre match presser.
  2. Interesting to see how Toth does, but other than that I suppose its as good as it gets considering the injuries and lack of squad depth. Think Cov will win this one comfortably. Prove me wrong Rovers.
  3. I'd be amazed if Rovers spent that much in transfer fees this month.
  4. Apparently has a terrible attitude. Doesn't appear to have pulled up any trees in any of his previous loan spells either, including one last season at Gueye's previous club in Belgium.
  5. I think he's actually done pretty well all things considered. Came with no expectations, started the season really well and was unplayable against Bristol City at home...but he's not an out and out striker IMO, and would've benefitted more from playing in the number 10 role as he did in the home win against Luton where he did play well and got an assist for Beck's goal (I'm not counting Gueye's 'backheel' as an assist there). Also been good enough to get called up to the Japan national team, and they're not exactly minnows of international football. Also worth pointing out that he had been playing non stop since January / February because that's when the J-League starts, so he hadn't actually had a close season break or anything before signing for Rovers. In conclusion I think Ohashi is a good player in this team, but each to their own. I believe it was said he'd be back in about 3-4 weeks recently.
  6. Augustus Kargbo looks decent in this video, but we'll probably end up with Augustus Gloop instead.
  7. Agree on JRC, he is surely a better option than Forshaw, but its far from ideal.
  8. With that starting 11 every week? Appreciate that you are just suggesting a starting 11 for this game but there's no need to be condescending to others who disagree with your line-up.
  9. Think it is roughly about 2 weeks now. If we're lucky he'll make the squad for the Preston game.
  10. We certainly owe Coventry a beating. Looking at history between the two sides we don't appear to have actually beaten them at Ewood since January 1997. Sutton (x2), Gallacher and Donis with the goals in a 4-0 win for anybody interested. Sady I feel that the trend will continue with a 0-2 defeat as this group of players, hampered by injuries runs out of steam. There is only so much magic JE can conjure up when you're missing essentially 5 more or less guaranteed starters in Carter, Travis, Tronstad, Ohashi, and Pickering. Would be tempted to change things up for this one as I don't think we have the personnel to play the current system well enough to win the game. Bring Sanderson in for 3 at the back, Brittain and Beck as Wing Backs. JRC and Buckley in the middle for me ahead of Forshaw. I'd also be tempted to play 2 up front. Gueye and Leonard / Dolan I guess. Not much to choose from is there!?
  11. Gotta be Danny Batth with the armband for me. Been a leader all season. Buckley is not a leader in the slightest.
  12. I am by no means defending Rovers on this because they well and truly effed up the O'Brien deal 2 years ago and embarrassingly so, but 'ruined his career' is a bit much IMO. I'd argue that going to Forest in the first place was a poor career move for him, given they were signing just about anything that moved that summer. He then had the opportunity on loan at Boro and didn't end up signing their permanently, so I'm assuming he didn't do well enough. Yes the mental side of the Rovers failed move may have effected him, but he's had chances elsewhere. That aside, I'd take him over Forshaw in a heartbeat. We needed a CM regardless of losing Baker, so logically as Forshaw is Baker's replacement we still do need a CM, even more so with Tronstad going off yesterday. Just a shame logic is rarely used at Rovers!
  13. Hopefully Pompey hold on to beat Boro and today isn't looking quite as bad regarding results elsewhere. On the flip side, what an opportunity missed to create bit of a cushion.
  14. Surely it'll have to be JRC and Buckley in the middle against Cov. Forshaw sounded well passed it in the end. Very worrying situation with the injuries piling up. How many weeks before Trav is back? 3?
  15. Really poor. Can't help but wonder if JRC for Tronstad would've been the better change...but that aside just really poor and today is another great example of Rovers squad getting exposed as massively punching above their weight. Now looking like we need another midfielder alongside more attacking options this month.
  16. Oh dear. Was always a big concern that we'd struggle in midfield with Tronstad going off. Oxford will hold onto this lead for dear life.
  17. He's on the bench, because he's 34 years old and probably can't start 3 games in a week anymore.
  18. Pretty standard for this place isn't it? If its not going off topic then its Chaddy and someone else having a pop at each other 😂
  19. No, looks like he will be going back to West Brom.
  20. Sometimes it just doesn't work for a player at a certain club, but why where WBA happy to sell in the summer? Attitude? Or was the fee too good to turn down? I don't know what the fee Cov paid was, but it seemed a weird one to me as I always felt he did well against Rovers when playing for WBA and was one of their better players overall...not that I follow West Brom I might add! That aside, Stoke are now shopping for a striker, and it will be difficult to compete with them financially.
  21. This. Didn't JE also mention the need for LB cover in a recent interview as well? It's definitely an important area. One injury or suspension to Beck and we are in trouble in that area of the pitch.
  22. Oxford in the league are on a roll, unbeaten in 5 including 3 wins. They are going through a new manager bounce so this will be a really tough game. They gave us a really tough game at Ewood and I expect similar here. Pears Brittain Batth Hyam Beck Tronstad Buckley ACD Cantwell Dolan Gueye Unfortunately I feel like it'll be a 1-0 defeat. One of those fine margin type matches. I expect Buckley will start again and he'll probably be too casual and get caught on the ball, which is where our downfall will be. ACD and Gueye arguably deserve starts after last night, and then its a toss up between either Dolan or Hedges in the other wide position.
