  1. This. Didn't JE also mention the need for LB cover in a recent interview as well? It's definitely an important area. One injury or suspension to Beck and we are in trouble in that area of the pitch.
  2. Oxford in the league are on a roll, unbeaten in 5 including 3 wins. They are going through a new manager bounce so this will be a really tough game. They gave us a really tough game at Ewood and I expect similar here. Pears Brittain Batth Hyam Beck Tronstad Buckley ACD Cantwell Dolan Gueye Unfortunately I feel like it'll be a 1-0 defeat. One of those fine margin type matches. I expect Buckley will start again and he'll probably be too casual and get caught on the ball, which is where our downfall will be. ACD and Gueye arguably deserve starts after last night, and then its a toss up between either Dolan or Hedges in the other wide position.
  3. Fantastic win. It was looking and sounding a lot like the Hull defeat at half time but the lads got the job done in style in the end. Credit to Eustace for the subs he made that ultimately changed the game. Gueye is definitely an impact player. Great header from that angle but what a ball from Brittain, who is fast becoming player of the season IMO. Gueye unfortunate not to get the third as the shot was ok, just probably not enough power on it. Thankfully Weimann is there to score. Weimann now top scorer in all comps with 7...which says a lot about our need for a goal scorer! A lot of his goals have been from simply knowing where to be at the right time, which is something pretty much all of our other forwards seem to lack. Been a good signing for us on the whole. Crucial win, and delighted for the players, but more so JE.
  4. Thomas Asante has 1 goal and 1 assist in the league this season. Granted he managed 11 league goals last season so that's something to cling onto. Still not exactly prolific though is it. Crikey.
  5. I'm not overly worried about a lack of links. As with Sanderson and Forshaw, deals will likely only come to light when they're practically done. Whether or not the incoming players are good enough is another question entirely 😂. My gut tells me we'll end up with Godo on loan from Fulham alongside another young prem striker on loan. Would be very surprised if we bring in a striker of better quality than what we have on a permanent deal.
  6. Must win, simple as. Pears Brittain Batth Hyam Beck Tronstad Buckley ACD Cantwell Hedges Leonard 2-1 win for Rovers. Leonard and ACD with the goals.
  7. The decision to give him to Southampton as part of the Kevin Davies deal really was a stinker 😂
  8. Pretty happy with that draw, and a chance of an upset with it being at home, especially with Wolves having priorities elsewhere in their battle to stay in the premier league. Doubt it'll be chosen for TV coverage though.
  9. On reflection, if Wallace was to come in as a replacement for an outgoing Sigurdsson then I'm ok with that, because Wallace is more likely to actually be available for match day squads at least. On Bamford - people can keep saying he's better than what we have and that may be true, but it's irrelevant because he is always injured...he's even injured at the moment! We don't need another crock, we only just got rid of Sam Gallagher in the summer for goodness sake. Would end up being a waste of a squad number.
  10. Jed Wallace? Patrick Bamford? After Forshaw are we trying to put together a team capable of winning the 2014/15 Championship season??? Not a fan of either of those players. Wallace doesn't really appear to be what we need (i.e. pace on the flanks) and Bamford seems to be winding his career down a fair bit, not to mention being heavily injury prone and with a terrible goal scoring record in recent years....isn't he on 5Live more than a football pitch these days anyway? Jed Wallace before he went to WBA would've been a great bit of business. What I will say is that both of these links feel like a journalist is throwing brown stuff at a wall and hoping it sticks. Wallace as the alternative to Schlupp? Two players that may play in the same position but are totally different in the way they play...it doesn't make sense. Ok, Ok...not much really makes sense with Rovers these days, but this all just stinks of random journo links...same goes for Brereton Diaz. I think what's more likely to happen is that we'll get wind of deals for players hours before they sign, as seems to have been the case with Rovers for most of their transfer business in the last couple of windows.
  11. Just seen the Weimann miss. Not defending him at all because he still should put that away, but it is a slightly awkward bounce and that is a stonewall penalty surely? Their keeper absolutely flattens him as soon as the ball leaves his boot. On the radio it sounded like much more of a delay before the keeper brings him down. Still should be scoring it, just glad he made up for it moments later.
  12. I don't recall saying Forshaw was a good signing. I agree with everything you've just said.
  13. Zidane is 52 years old 😂. Football Manager has ruined my perspective on ages of footballers. As soon as someone hits 30 in that game I drop them like a stone 😂.
  14. Despite his earlier miss, he has at least scored and we're getting to the point where Weimann is our best option as a number 9.
  15. Hahahaha Weimann scores after missing an absolute sitter.
  16. I don't mind him, but then he once bought a print off me to gift to Mark Atkins so maybe I'm biased 😂
  17. Listening to Radio Lancs. Andy Bayes losing his rag with Leonard for constantly getting offside. In fact he's losing his rag with most of them 😂.
  18. Only 'report' I've seen of that is from that Nathan Jones fella tweeting it. Not sure you can call that a report though 😂
  19. Pretty content with Dion Sanderson signing. Its clearly a Eustace choice and he's coming in as cover and Eustace clearly rated him enough to have him as his captain at Birmingham. Also a good age at 25. Simply can't be happy with the Forshaw signing. Ok its another one who is coming in as cover, but its a downgrade from Baker IMO. I hope we don't have to resort to playing him to be honest. We'll be hoping that Buckley and / or Garrett can step up until Trav is back. Fingers crossed that the more attacking incomings are more impressive (if there are any that is).
  20. Adam Forshaw??? F*cking HELLLLLLLLL
  21. I don't like the idea of JRC in midfield after his embarrassing stint there in the EFL cup earlier this season when he effectively cost us the game. Sod it, how about a 4 4 Effing 2 😅 Toth JRC Fadz Hyam Beck ACD Buckley Garrett Hedges Gueye Leonard Obviously this is a bit tongue in cheek in case anyone decides to take offense 😂
  22. I'd be surprised if Dyche went anywhere else this season. He'll likely do what he did after Burnley and take a break. Not sure he will be able to secure another prem job next though. More than likely going to need to step down a level again. Be interesting to see who Everton bring in.
  23. Well he's already got more Championship goals this season than Gueye 😂. Would not be at all surprised if this happened.
