  1. Errrm, ok...? Not sure what your point is. 😅. As I say, hopefully they don't come near JE.
  2. Russell Martin has been sacked. Hopefully Southampton don't come sniffing around Eustace.
  3. Saints should stick with Martin for two reasons: 1. They're going down anyway, nobody is going to come in and change that. 2. It's REALLY funny
  4. Absolutely beggars belief. What exactly were their expectations this season other than to just try and compete.
  5. He might well be ready to get back in, but that is a heck of a distance from his family. Probably more likely to take a job closer to home. I'd be really surprised if Mowbray turned up at a club down south.
  6. I do worry that when Wolves inevitably bin Gary O'Neil that they might have an eye on Eustace. Unless their owners think they can get a bigger name. Waggot has managed to stumble upon gold dust here with JE as he seems so far to be an upgrade on JDT at this level at least. Not suggesting JDT is a bad coach....just that he wasn't able to switch things up enough in style of play against certain Championship sides when needed. Eustace appears to be able to adapt to different teams more comfortably.
  7. My dad used to call him (and still does on occasion) 'backwards Batty' 😂
  8. Rovers have now won one more game than Burnley after both sides have played 20. Not sure anyone would've predicted that at the start of the season. Every credit to John Eustace and a group of what appears to be very well drilled players. Still an awful long way to go this season and Rovers will surely have a poor run or two to come, but we can be so very proud of them at what is 3 games shy of the halfway stage of the season.
  9. Have you ever seen what's inside a Dalek? Reminds me of that lot 😂
  10. Ah that is probably it, my bad.
  11. Fantastic win, 6 in a row is incredible. 5 clean sheets in a row even more so. Loving every second of this while it lasts. Believe Matt Smith is a Rovers fan because his mum is possibly from the area (not 100% sure on that but I seem to recall reading it once). Also huge nerd-alert admission here but I once met him at a Doctor Who convention. It was the day Rovers lost 2-1 away at Bolton in around March of 2012, the season we got relegated from the Prem. Spoke to him for about 5 minutes and in that time all he talked about was Rovers (I was wearing a Rovers shirt at the time). Anyway swiftly moving on, only things missing today for me was a goal for Ohashi and another for Gueye. Would've been the icing on the cake.
  12. Stoppage time equaliser for Leeds. Preston continue to draw practically every game it seems.
  13. Looking at Luton's recent results its a real mixed bag, the definition of an inconsistent mid table side. Will be interesting to see what Eustace does regarding team selection. Is Brittain still going to be missing? If not then he'll have to make a choice for right back as well as who comes in for Cantwell. If Brittain is available then I can see JRC being pushed further up on the right and then Dolan coming into the middle....Alternatively I wouldn't be surprised to see Ohashi move back into the number 10 role with Gueye coming in from the start after his successful cameo in midweek. Either way, Cantwell is a big loss. I think it'll be a draw. 1-1.
  14. Probably not the best choice of words from Harris but he's got a point. Booing a 1 nil loss at home after they had just gone unbeaten for ages at The Den. I think like Rovers, many would have had Millwall under Harris to be down fighting relegation this season but he's done really well there. Crucial for them who comes in next. Their last appointment post Rowett and pre Harris did not go well. Could work in Rovers favour given we play them soon too.
  15. Only just found time to come on here but WOW, what a win....another 1 nil as well. This team is continuing to surprise me since the Stoke defeat. From no away wins to 4 in a row. That is really impressive achievement and Eustace continues to work wonders with this group of players. Delighted for Gueye. Many of us have been critical of him and rightly so as he's been poor, but I don't think you'll find a single Rovers fan on here who isn't delighted to see him on the scoresheet. Simply wonderful.
  16. Think this may be a game too far for Rovers. They've done magnificently to win 4 on the spin but away at Sheffield Wednesday, I have a bad Coventry away feeling about it for some reason. A draw would be a very good result here. Going for a 2-0 defeat 😞 Predicted team: Pears Brittain Batth Hyam Beck Travis Tronstad Dolan Cantwell Hedges Ohashi Would like to see ACD get a chance but doubt this is the game for him. More likely to get more minutes at home to Luton at the weekend I reckon.
  17. I suppose I am thinking more of the second half of last season when we were pretty much solely reliant on one player to score the goals. We are scoring less but are far more solid defensively.
  18. There's no doubting Rovers are lacking a consistent and proven goal scorer, but unlike last season there is a greater variety of players that are chipping in with the goals. If Rovers had a 15 goal striker alongside this group then they'd likely end up comfortably in the top 6. I do bloody love Yuki Ohashi though for his work rate alone. The fella just needs a tap in to get back on the scoring trail.
  19. Eustace continues to get the absolute max out of this team. Was a tricky one, horrendous weather conditions and it was hard to tell what we would get with Hull having just appointed a new manager, even if he wasn't technically in charge today. Rovers appear on the face of it to be a consistent goal scorer away from being a solid top 6 side. We all know that there are weaknesses but Eustace is doing well to nullify those at the moment. It won't last forever, but lets enjoy a 4th win in a row for now :).
  20. 5 added on. You'd think the ref would just want to get home.
  21. Definitely need a sucker punch 2nd goal here.
  22. Highly unlikely (near on impossible even) but ideally we would be bringing in a striker, winger and a centre half to cover for Batth and Hyam while Carter and Wharton remain injured. I think we'll be lucky to bring one of those positions in.
  23. If Hull manage to bring in a new manager before this game then I wouldn't be at all surprised if Rovers slip up. I didn't realise it was so long since Hull last won a game, which makes for another red flag. Also Travis being missing is a big blow. I'd be content with a draw after such a great week. My concern is if we go 1 nil down, we aren't exactly a free scoring side at the moment. I'll go for a 1-1 draw. With Ohashi ending his dry spell in front of goal. My predicted team (providing there are no new injuries this week): Pears Brittain Batth Hyam Pickering Baker Tronstad Dolan Cantwell Beck Ohashi
  24. Absolutely magnificent result. 2 brilliant wins in a really tough week and 2 clean sheets! I don't think any of us saw this coming but it is very welcome indeed. This of course would be typical Rovers to then go and lose away at Hull next weekend. Travis being suspended is a big loss for that one, and Hull will likely have a new manager in by then as well. Got to celebrate these moments. Rovers lost 3 in a row before now winning 3 in a row. I suspect it'll be like that a few more times this season as well, but to be on 28 points at this stage of the season when we were a lot of peoples picks for the drop is a huge achievement. John Eustace is getting 110% and out of the team at the moment, every credit to him.
  25. Leeds have clicked, similarly to Sheffield United when we played them at Ewood. Expect this to be a defeat, a draw would be fantastic after last nights victory. I think Beck will come in for one of Hedges or Dolan. Other than that I expect it to be the same side as last night unless there are injuries. I'll go for a 1-2 defeat.
