  1. Don't know much about Leighton Baines coaching attributes but I'm fairly sure Phil Neville would be a disaster for them after his stint with Inter Miami.
  2. Schumacher had them doing ok before he left for Stoke. Not many managers will come in and revitalise a team after the damage Rooney has done, but someone that a bunch of the players already know and have belief in will do them the World of good. If I was a Plymouth fan he'd be my first choice to come back in and try to save them.
  3. Couple of cheap prem loans, maybe a wildcard cheapo foreign signing from Gestede. I'll be absolutely amazed if we do anything better than that.
  4. It would be great if Ipswich can turn last nights win into some momentum and stay up. I'd like to see at least one of the promoted sides stay up, just to give the rest of us hope I suppose. Liam Delap is starting to look like a very promising centre forward these days as well.
  5. Remember Ryo Germain who Rovers were linked with quite a bit in the summer? He's signed for Hiroshima in the last few days. Isn't that Ohashi's former side? Thought that was an interesting tidbit.
  6. Such a shame Plymouth didn't hold onto Rooney until after we play them 😅. Wouldn't be surprised if Schumacher, or even Ryan Lowe end up back there. Was a terrible appointment in the first place and only ever going to end this way. Typical that they beat Rovers though 😂.
  7. The amount of criticism he's had on this forum over the years suggests that plenty don't rate him. I'm not one of those by the way, I think he's a steady championship LB.
  8. Hard to see anything other than a comfortable Leeds win here. In the midst of a hectic Christmas period I imagine several players are in need of a rest. This game at another time in the season then maybe we could nick something, but I think Eustace will rest one or two before the derby, plus we're really missing Travis and dare I say Pickering as well, as that would allow Beck to play in front of him, which would've probably been the call for this game. Leeds 3 - 0 Rovers
  9. Yeah this is a really poor result. The only compensation is that the teams around us also failed to win, and although I hate to say it, let's hope 'that lot' do us a favour tonight as well. When the chances come and go and you're at home to a side fighting relegation then its inevitable what comes next. Best not to expect anything from the Leeds game. Would rather not think about the 4th Jan right now. The one thing I'm clinging to is that we're exactly at the halfway point in the season. and Rovers are far surpassed anyone's expectations. Let's hope it continues over the next 23, but without a new addition up front and some pace out wide it'll be a tough ask.
  10. It would be a blow to not win tomorrow, but looking at the fixtures coming up after the Burnley game, there are several very winnable games in amongst those, including the game in hand at home to Portsmouth. I just hope Plymouth still have Rooney in charge on February 15th 😅.
  11. With Leeds away and then 'that lot' to come, this is a pretty important game for Rovers. Need a win to go into those two matches with confidence. Could be a good game for ACD to start, and would be good to see Leonard get more minutes as well. I'll go 2-0 Rovers. If PNE can beat Hull as they did yesterday then Rovers should be doing the same.
  12. Well if you're going to blow a lead then at least try not to lose the game, and thankfully Rovers managed to salvage something. Quite pleased overall with a point against a team above us in the table. It now means only Sheffield United have so far beaten Rovers out of those top 4 sides. I'm pretty content with that. It is disappointing that after taking a relatively early lead they failed to take their chances in the first half. It was inevitable that Sunderland would come out a different side, as they have shown several times this season, they do tend to start slowly and work their way back into games. Delighted for Ohashi and then Leonard, who I do think could be a player at this level. We were somewhat fortunate that results of the teams below us were either draws or defeats in the case of West Brom. Important that Rovers go on and beat Hull now though. Edit: My bad, didn't know Watford won late on.
  13. I'm sure Eustace will be linked to WBA, but I wouldn't be surprised if they try to get Danny Rohl from Wednesday first...OR they go for the easier and much cheaper option of getting someone in who is currently available....like Mark Robins or even Gary O'Neil. The later certainly isn't likely to get a premier league job again anytime soon so a top half Championship club is probably the best he can hope for.
  14. I think most would be disappointed with 2 draws from 2 home games, especially when one is against a side currently sat 21st in the division. I can accept a draw at home to a side above us in the table, but come on, we should be putting Hull to the sword regardless of their new manager. It was important that Hull beat Swansea the other day, they've got that first win under new management out of their system. Obviously comes with the disclaimer that injuries are a concern and nothing is guaranteed.
  15. After this latest round of results it feels like it may well end up being the 3 promoted teams all going straight back down for the 2nd season running. The gap is getting bigger and bigger.
  16. Disappointing outcome yesterday but I think Rovers will get something from Boxing Day. When the games come thick and fast I'd say that 4 points from the next 2 would be pretty acceptable, but crucial not to lose either of them. Would like to see Cantwell back in the number 10 role.
  17. Real shame that, but having to finish the game with 10 was never going to be comfortable, and the team clearly weren't at their best today either. It happens. Lets not forget what a great run this has been. Can't win 'em all.
  18. Plymouth 3 - 3 Boro. Incredible score line that
  19. Boro losing again though, so that's something.
  20. I think Grealish is one of those players who would thrive at a club where he is the main man, as he was at Villa...a little bit like how Bellamy seemed at his best during his one season at Rovers. I don't watch City but doesn't he also get played out of position a lot as well?
  21. Tough job at Burton but I hope Gary Bowyer does well there, and if they do go down I think he's a very steady hand to have at the helm in League Two.
  22. For all of Pep's own personal successes, the concept of Pep ball that has filtered its way down the divisions is beyond irritating.
  23. Rovers have won their last two league games at Millwall, hopefully they'll make it a third win in 3 seasons there. Interesting situation with them now looking for a new manager, slightly similar to when we played Hull the other week. Hopefully the result is the same as well! This marvellous run will end at some point, I can see a frustrating 1-0 defeat here with Millwall scoring a scrappy goal. Predicted team: Pears Brittain Batth Hyam Pickering Travis Tronstad ACD Cantwell Beck Gueye Honestly its a toss up between Ohashi and Gueye, but I do think Yuki is better as an impact player when defenders are tiring. If Brittain is not back yet then JRC retains the right back spot.
