So it was rounded up to 7000. And I suppose we will never know if we did have1500+ walk-ons. I would say that the actual amount of Rovers fans there was closer to 6000.

It’s a guess but I would put last nights actual total attendance at 6,500 at the very most.

Given the quality of the 1st half it would have been more entertaining trying to count the numbers in attendance.

A lot of season ticket holders around me didn't turn up last night, Tuesday night against Hull isn't really one to entice the fans!

It would be fairer to compare a Saturday 3pm attendance with the the last few years instead, probably still down on what it has been.

Putting the price up £100 in the Riverside was an idiotic move and has probably lost a couple of thousand purely based on cost.

The 7,000 ST holders were included in the figure whether they turned up or not.  There were also about 480 Hull fans.  Whatever way this is painted this is dire.  Some blame Covid, that is only a small part of the problem and certainly not the root cause, indeed many other clubs have seen gates go up and our own away support has Improved.

Apart from the owners and the senior management team we have the issue of some people not wanting to turn up to a morgue; we need initiatives like safe standing which albeit have a cost attached it will encourage our 16-30 year old support.  Also do the club analyse our free ticket schemes, do they work and how many return and buy a ticket?

That’s nice to know. I donated two to a kids charity in Blackburn. I haven’t heard fuck all about them from Rovers.

They put something on the ‘News’ section of the official website a week or two back.  That was a fantastic thing for you to do btw 👏 👏

They're putting artwork up around Stanley about the history of the club, much like we had in Blues Bar from Bob Crompton to the present until the club whitewashed it.

The new historical displays in Jack’s Kitchen and JW stand corporate corridors are very impressive.  The club should be applauded for these.

  5. This did not work in the new thread I initiated (probably due to me being a ‘newbie’) so I have pasted it here.   Mods please remove the new thread I started.  Thank you.  Here goes:

This is an attempt to bring together discussions on a number of related issues.

There can be few who can disagree the atmosphere at Ewood resembles a morgue (unless we are 3 up?).  We have the issues of parts of the ground being closed; I understand the logic behind this but the application was not what should be expected of a professional organisation.

This is not one for me as a bloke in his early 50’s but we need to come up with a proposal that the Club will support and one that builds atmosphere and lifts the players.  Please note I am not saying anything about the football on the pitch.

I understand the Club would be receptive to a fans initiative for say a safe standing area in the top corner (JW End) of the BBE Lower.  This could, for example, be two blocks of say 15 to 20 seats depth.

If for example this came from the fans (Fans Forum) with a suggestion that the fans play their part via crowdfunding a proportion of the cost (and new flags) it could well fly.  Shrewsbury fans did this; if they can surely we can?

Despite past actions and how these have been received the Club are desperate to improve the atmosphere and surprise surprise they know they do not have all the answers.

is anyone prepared to take the initiative?  Yet another poll perhaps?

  7. I await the avalanche of contrary views (nothing wrong with that btw) but I expect that the V’s will be on the case of Tony very quickly.

There was decisive action when it was clear that Gary Bowyer was not taking the Club in the required direction and we are in a similar if not worse situation now.

The body language of Tony gives away the pressure he is under, I suspect that comes from the owners who expect him to deliver on his promises.

I realise all the mistakes they have made, at the end of the day they appear to want the Club to move upwards, they would be daft if they did not.

I really want Tony to do well.  He is a decent and principled man.  However the time has come for change.  The time to move is the international break following the S Weds and Leeds games.

Mowbrays mate, the incompetent Steve Waggott was telling fans yesterday that basically Mowbray is going nowhere. Naive to think otherwise.

Waggott employed TM.  This makes it unlikely that he is going to encourage the V’s to pull the trigger.  Also our owners will be reluctant to pay his compensation up until the end of his fixed term contract.

Watched Sheff Wed / Leeds yesterday.

Thought Leeds had most possession and very mobile but Wed seemed the most efficient side.

Was a lot of empty seats. £42 tickets when its in sky and lunchtime.

Wed just released a 6 game (discounted) bundle at £200 !

We can't give away 3 game bundles at £45.

Just watch our home gates nose dive after the Preston fiasco, it will only be the likes of Sheff Weds, Leeds, Preston etc that will make our average look respectable.

The man is a deluded knob head. Dominated the second half at Birmingham??

If they don't score the first goal they don't score at all?

Admit you're out of your depth Tony!!!

Correct.  I went to Birmingham and we were sh**e for 90+ minutes.  Mowbray is deluded and looking for his pay off.

Mowbray is under contract until 30th June 2022

Does anyone seriously expect him to walk? I do not.

Does anyone expect Venus or Waggot to push for his sacking? I do not.

    Over to you Suhail.

    Summary: Nothing will happen

Of course he will not walk.  He will wait to be sacked and have his contract paid up.  SW appointed him so little chance of him asking Madame to do the right thing.
