The first half against Preston was as good as anything I've seen at the club. The second-half was as bad as anything I've seen at the club. We need consistency - be it on the pitch, or in the transfer window. Somebody like Hughton would bring that. I've actually enjoyed Mowbray's time here, overal - at least as far as that can go! I genuinely believe that he's saved us from embarrassment that we couldn't even begin to imagine. If I step out of the box, then I think since last December was when I truly started to doubt him; the summer transfer window's mediocrity could be forgiven if we were pulling out surprise results, but since then, it has been a one-way street to decline.

It's sad, really, because I do want him as the sort of person leading us to success, but he is not the sharpest tool in the shed if I'm being honest. If we were to swap him for an unemployed manager like Hughton, I would bite off your hand.

I'm not against professionals being given a chance to redeem themselves, and Mowbray certainly has, in my view (remember the apathy we all felt when he was appointed?), but this is where it should end. I think it's time for somebody with REAL capabilities to take us up, and if tonight's result after half-time doesn't confirm that Mowbray isn't the man to do that, I'm not sure what will.

    Oh, Rovers... ?

Away at Birmingham was even worse Phil.  I lost 7 hours of my life that I will never get back travelling to watch that shower.

I hope that Preston have a good drainage system as the amount of rain that has fallen since this afternoon and there is a yellow warning for heavuyrain through the night and for most of the day tomorrow,.

PNE had drainage, running hot and cold water and flushing toilets fitted about 2 years ago so all should be fine.

Slow distribution under instruction maybe ?  It'd fit in with everything else at the min.

As for kicking iv'e yet to see a young keeper here who's been any good at that. It used to be a minimum requirement a basic fundamental along with catching and handling.  This era it's all about quick reflexes, staying on your line and parrying shots with one hand hopefully straight to one of your own.

Basics in keepers and centre halves are badly lacking in the drive to make it like a non contact sport.

If I can kick a long ball with direction at my advanced age then Walton should be able to ?

Greg is one of the good guys, very difficult job though at the moment

I agree there’s been times that we haven’t seized on momentum, any walk ons this season haven’t seen a feast of football more often than not.

Whatever reasons people have said they are staying away for you can guarantee that promotion is the route that would bring back the most fans.

Yes Greg is trying hard in challenging circumstances and it is difficult to milk the local community and business fraternity much more.

There appeared to be about 8,500 home fans on v Huddersfield, there were vast swathes of empty seats around me in the JW that are normally occupied.

If we do not improve on the field (where it matters most) the gates will continue to drop.  We have already lost a net 700 ST holders this season and I can see the decline continuing sadly.

Walton has been good? Must be watching different games, hes absolutely crap.

Rothwell hasnt looked at the races mainly because hes been sat on the bench.

He stopped 3 certain goals at Birmingham and his handling of crosses was superb.  His kicking game and painfully slow distribution let’s him down - a decent coach can rectify this.

The side effect of this is that there is no faith whatsoever in Waggott to do what normal chief execs would do. His history with Mowbray; the contemptuous way the club treats fans while he has been here; does he even have the authority?

SW is passionate about Rovers, he is desperate for Rovers to succeed.  The appointment of TM worked to a point, it is now time to move on and build after a number of poor / dubious signings and bizarre formations and substitutions from Tony.  I have no doubt if SW said to Pune we need to change the Manager they will listen - clearly you have a different, and your opinion valid, point-of-view.

  7. I have met Tony on a number of occasions.  He is a lovely man, knowledgable and he has more integrity that our national politicians combined.

i have many Boro supporting mates that say the same.  However they all agree with me when they say he is not good enough to progress the team and they would not want him back to a man.

He is loyal and that is a positive but it can also stand in the way of progress.  It is time for an amicable parting and hopefully Mr Waggott is lining up a replacement now so the change is seamless.

Do the right thing please SW and be decisive.
