  1. Random question- Just been watching the Worthington cup final win and I know Tugay was suspended but as far as I can make it he was not even at the game?

Did not notice him in any of the celebrations or in the dressing room after the during the celebrations and interviews.

During the on pitch celebrations Souness tells someone to hurry up to come and join them and no one appears any idea if that was Tugay and if not who it was?

  2. Presurming we dont pull off a Miracle this season...

If next season our only first team signings were Walton, Tosin and Cunningham and we didnt lose any 1st team players would you be confident of us at least reaching the playoffs next season?

I think we would have to be confident of reaching them. Tosin and Walton are only likely to further improve.

Cunningham strengthens us at Left back and I would keep Bell as back up.

You would hope/expect Buckley, Costello and Brereton to further improve next season.

I think Travis and Armstrong are only going to get better. Rothwell is likely to improve as well.

We would have a settled team we all the players are all familar with each other.

Dont get me wrong I would still expect and love us to sign even more players but if we just signed those 3 and with Dack and Holtby coming back I think we would be a great position next season!

    What do you think?

This is how I can see it going. Players in luminous green I would consider "Top 6 players" worthy of a starting position in our team for next season (if and when fit of course).

Out of a normal 23 man squad, to only have 5 or 6 players who are good enough is pretty poor. We'd have to sign at least 6 Top 6 quality players to even think about much of an improvement next season.

Got a strong feeling Ben Brereton will go out on loan for next season, I reckon Downing & Graham can both be squad players another year personally but that's just my opinion obviously. We've no goalkeepers as has been mentioned in this thread, and only two defenders who we can universally agree are decent...

We need a HUGE window, and I sadly don't feel as though we're going to get it. Also highlighted in blue some of the youth players I reckon will get a loan out too. Can see promising left-back Lewis Thompson going to League One or Two, same for Buckley & Chapman.

Rothwell on a good day is a top 6 player but  needs to up his consistency.

So defensive against such a poor side.

And Williams is worse at left back than CB.

But agree with no Johnson and Bennett.

Whos defensive? Only Travis who gets forward more these days. Bell can be attacking when playing on the week but also makes us more solid defensively. Who would you pick?

I know it is all mute point as Tony will play league 1 level Bennett somewhere. Why is he still captain when he rarely starts?

Give darragh the armband and downing as vice
