Luton Town FC received a legal challenge from the owners of the shopping centre in the town itself IIRC, which has delayed everything as the shopping centre LTFC want to build on the outskirts funds the new stadium. Don't know what the latest is on that front - as with most things like this it seems to have dragged on for years.

Ah, arguments about population. Never change BRFCS.

I'm sure Arsenal would be delighted if, when Arteta leaves, club legend and Arsenal Encyclopedia Tony Adams takes over. Couldn't manage a village shop but I'm sure that doesn't matter.

Liverpool is a ridiculously small place to have two top PL Clubs.
Aye, not as if Liverpool is the third or fourth biggest city in England is it?

News doing the rounds today that DAZN are keen on streaming every last minute of all EFL games as part of the new deal, amongst other proposals.

I think my favourite story from the days of re-election was Barrow being punted because of its poor transport links. Here we are nearly half a decade later, they're back in the League on merit, and the transport links are still as poor as they were then. Some sort of justice in there I think?!

I’d not fancy driving to Birmingham myself - I hate the M6😱
Mind you, I’d not pay those train fares!
If I was to go it would have to be by coach - but having read some of the stories about the ones to Sheffield, that doesn’t sound appealing either.
If we had proper fans befitting a team in the play off places, we'd hitch hike. Or something.

Some job Jon Coleman has done there over his two stints. Didn't they achieve something mad like finishing higher in the league 12 years in a row?

It was on Sunday last year.
Sure it used to be Sat in even years and Mon in odd years, changed to consistently Sat a few years back.

1) I'm too young to remember '95 and too young to have done any of our European tours, so I'll have to stick with Cardiff 2002!
2) Any of our successes up to 1928. I appreciate '95, but I'd love to be able to see Rovers and the game of that era. Healless, Suter, Crompton et al.

I've never subscribed to the Hudds were the bad guys angle. It's a tale as old as time that if you're safe at that time of year then anything and everything happens with the starting XI. Rovers have done it time and time again, as have hundreds of other teams.
My best advice would be to not go into the final day of the season depending on favours!

Hi all
Birmingham away 1st April tickets released.
I'm travelling up from Bristol. Would be good to meet up with some rovers fans for a beer before if anyone is interested?
Also looking for good recommendations for pubs near the ground.
Cheers
Neil
There's a smattering of good, very traditional pubs at the St Andrews side of Birmingham city centre, however I cannot vouch for what these are like on matchdays. The safest bet is the city centre, but it all depends on what your 'scene' is pub-wise! The best 'old boys discussing ale' pubs is the Wellington, for European stuff but traditional vibe the Post Office Vaults is the one. Modern stuff you have the Head of Steam and North Taproom (ed: name corrected! - Sommar is also very good and similar) by Snow Hill. The Colmore and Good Intent are also well recommended, both brand new-ish with a good atmosphere and array of beer. Also your usual array of Spoons if that more your thing. Of all those I've given, I think the Good Intent (upstairs) is the only one to show live sport.

There’s a really good article ( 4 full pages long ) in todays “ Guardian “ . It’s about modern day referees. Very revealing.
Is this it? About to dive in...

Shortest distance the trophy will have travelled between successive winners too isn't it? Hall i' th' Wall to Leamington Street is closer than Anfield to Goodison I believe.

Superb city is Sheffield, often overlooked as it's not seen as glamorous as the other large Northern cities but it more than holds its own. Excellent array of pubs, proper football grounds and the home of snooker. Can't ask for more from a place really.

This is aimed at no-one on here as it's a concept rife everywhere in the game these days, but bottle up this feeling for every time someone suggests the Cup is a distraction these days, a throw back to the era of keepers without gloves, Inside Rights and lifting over the turnstiles. It's well over two days off yet and we may come away with nothing to show, but I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve. Absolute fucking dynamite is this competition.

Off topic a bit but I wonder what is the furthest distance a Rovers season ticket has lived from Ewood? Didn't we have a new-ish member on here who bought one and lived in Hertfordshire?

Sundays tend to be slightly better for it given the trains get out of bed later than they do the other six mornings a week anyway. Mind, the service in question between Liverpool and Sheffield is TPE, who don't have the best of form on Sundays, regardless of what is happening the day before. Given that it is also the train at Warrington and Manchester most Lancs-based Rovers fans getting the train will be using, one does hope it runs!

Yeah had nothing myself either this past half hour. Ringing is equally fruitless, doesn't even connect.
