My pleasure regarding the numbers, and thanks for the compliments. I saw the "saddo" comment, but it made me chuckle to be honest. It took maybe half an hour to work it out how to do it, then maybe another half another to figure out some stipulations and assumptions, and the rest is just a five minute jump onto the computer to do the count. On Friday morning, there were 224 unavailable seats from the 2,256 "non-renewers" that I had been deducting. By the evening, there were an additional 73 unavailable seats. Add last night's 40, that's ~113 since the loyalty scheme ended. That's more than double the average I'd been getting, but I think it's the payday boost. I run the counts at roughly 10pm.

Yes, I just want to reiterate that they are assumptions. I may well be totally wrong that 200-300 renewed in the second loyalty scheme. It's possible that more did so, and were included in the daily counts if they switched seats, for example. I couldn't work out the behaviour of the seat map in that regard. However, considering we sold just shy of 7,000 by last season's opener, we're 1,000 ahead of that with another four weeks to go. It's not the amount we were hoping for with JDT coming in, but considering the prices, the supporters have done well to see us at 8K so far.

Take the assumptions with a pinch of salt. They are just that - assumptions. Having said that, we are now in "real" territory as far as the numbers go. No more stipulations or exceptions. Unless the loyalty scheme is reinstated again. At which point I'll need a psychiatrist.

@JHRover, unless I'm mistaken, I believe @Tom posted that he couldn't renew his seat because it had been taken by somebody in between the two loyalty scheme periods. I don't think the club were prepared to move people around that had chosen their seats during that time. I think the club might have also stated something like this on the website. Regarding yesterday's article about the deadline from the club, they used the term "close of play". I'm not sure what that means, i.e., 17:00 on the day, or midnight, or something else. They should have posted the exact time, really, unless I missed it. I doubt you'll be able to get your seat if it was taken before the second loyalty scheme period, but maybe speaking to the ticket office could allow you to get the loyalty scheme renewal price, if not the seat you had.

The 2,256 seats now have true visibility of availability. ~7,904 season tickets have been sold, including those that renewed during the loyalty scheme period. The extended loyalty scheme gave ~224 renewals, but possibly more if previous counts included those that renewed but switch seats. I was hoping for a much bigger boost, but here are some things to consider: Some good signings should give some sort of boost; I don't have a picture of sales patterns, so it's possible that a sales boost comes as the season draws closer and it's more at the forefront of people's minds; Some might be waiting for July's pay packet to land before being able to purchase; I assume there will be a period after the season starts where supporters can buy and get reimbursed for any matches they missed, so sales continue after the season starts. We're averaging ~26 season ticket sales per day. If that remains the case, it means a projection of ~8,658 before our first home game of the season. I will do the usual update tonight.

I'm not sure because I can't test the behaviour. You would think that it would ungrey itself and make itself available, but I don't know if the system clocks onto it or not. I suppose it will become irrelevant after a few days. It might have been simpler to stop counting until then. 🙃

Yes. So the 7,610 includes all new sales to date, and all season ticket renewals from before 17th June when the loyalty scheme was reinstated. The 2,256 is the number of seats that were immediately marked as "unavailable" on 17th June, which I assume is a case of earmarking those seats for non-rewers during the new loyalty scheme period. I can't think what else it could be, and I doubt very much we sold 2,256 season tickets in the space of a couple of hours! So, right now, I can't tell if all 2,256 have renewed, or 0 have renewed. They're going to remain "unavailable" until after 30th June regardless of their state of sale. At the moment, I'm actually counting 10,025 "unavailable" seats in total (excluding the whole DE and BBE upper tier, of course). 159 of those "unavailable" seats are canvassed-off in W01, and therefore not saleable, so that gets deducted. I'm also deducting the 2,256 non-renewers due to the reason mentioned above, i.e., lack of true visibility of the availability of those seats. At some point after 30th June, the club will probably take the system down again for an hour or two, and will stop earmarking those 2,256 seats as "unavailable". At that point, I can stop deducting the 2,256. I think that's exactly what happens. So there will be a number of those, I gather, and it's possible they are included in what I'm considering as "new" season ticket holders, but it's hard to tell at the moment. Once this 2,256 business is out of the way (Friday?), all this assumption stuff will be irrelevant. Just causes some slight complications in the meantime, so best to exclude it entirely.

I'll stick my neck out a bit, but as always with these estimates, they are just that, albeit based on real numbers and the odd assumption... Based on the estimates, we would have another ~848 new season ticket holders between now and our first home game of the season if the average sales of 26.5 per day keeps up. As mentioned a few times, the current estimates exclude the current loyalty scheme renewers because the club appeared to make ~2,256 seats instantly unavailable just before they reinstated the scheme, so for obvious reasons, I don't want to assume they are all sold. However, the previous loyalty scheme period saw us without a Head Coach, and with JDT being well-received, I'd like to believe ~1,000 or will have decided to renew. There is little logic to that figure, but just a conservative "less than half" idea. If both of those things hold true, we're looking at ~9,458 season tickets. That's also without taking into account two pay days between now and our first home game of the season. I'd expect the two pay days to add some modest boosts to the numbers. I think breaking 10,000 season tickets is possible, and it would be a great achievement on behalf of the supporters to have done that given the difficulties we all face.
