  1. We'll know within the first 15 minutes which team has turned up. If the whole squad works their bollocks off the same as the other night, at Blackpool and at home to west Brom we should smash these lot. If we sit back and it takes us 45 minutes to get going we'll lose. Surely the players must see how their hard work pays off and that we can beat anyone playing like that from the off.

    0-3 rovers .

  2. If we can stick in the top half, hopefully within touching distance of the play offs and beat Burnley I'll be happy. We need something to play for second half of the season and definitely not a relegation battle.

To answer the question I think around 10th-12th. We need to make ewood a fortress because we aren't good enough to beat good sides away from home.

  3. Should favor us playing against a better side. Since we like to let the opposition have the ball and break quickly. Against a superior team like Watford it makes sense. But against a struggling stoke and decent enough bristol city team not so much. But anyway. They are nearly as good as Fulham last season going forward. Hopefully we turn up and can defend or it could be as bad as the 7-0 game last season.

  4. I think hedges, Diaz and Gallagher will be our starting front three. With either dack or Sammie just behind. I think that's a decent enough attack for this league. I think Dolan can play a role off the bench against tired legs. He's been way off it so far this season but he's still only young and hopefully will get better as the team does. If we switch to back three of Scott, Ayala and hyam that's fairly solid on paper. With Carter and Phillips when needed. Morton or bola can play just in front of those three. Then just ahead of those we've Travis, Buckley and Adam. Brittain has been for me our most consistent player so far, even when we've been awful at times. Pickering out on the left without as much defensive responsibility will hopefully come good.

Looking at it like that and with kaminski being arguably the best keeper in this league, we've got a solid foundation there to finish well clear of relegation. If we can go on a run and make our way towards top six even better. Although I think it won't be as competitive as last season and there will be a bigger gap between the top teams and the rest of us.

  5. Yeah can't help but think we're still short. When it's good like last night and a couple times already this season, it's brilliant. I don't think we have the squad to have a real push at the play offs/promotion. As long as we beat those Dingle bastards home and away that'll do. I think the manager will get time with our owners. Not through their loyalty but more to do with not caring enough or paying much attention to results. See how we get on these next few months and how this team develops.

  6. Yeah whatever happens tomorrow can't fault Diaz. His commitment and respect for the club. If he goes I just hope we have a contingency plan in place. His goals will be hard to replace. IF he stays I think we still need a few quality signings. Obviously if he does we need even more.

Brilliant performance overall. Adam Wharton was everywhere. I thought the whole team were really good. Playing stuff we never saw under mowbray. On another day that's a 3/4-0 win and would be one to look back on. We need to use it as a platform and go on a run now hopefully.

We have lost another season playing a player contributing nothing which could have gone to someone who is maybe proven at this level or higher. Think pukki who was brought In then helped Norwich to promotion

A signing like that would go completely against our model. As they said earlier this summer we want to get young exciting players in who can be developed and sold on for profit. Every championship club bar the parachute payment's clubs will be the same. Unless they go hell for leather and throw everything at trying to get promoted. The problem is money made being reinvested. We shall see when/if Diaz goes how much the management is given to strengthen if any at all.

  8. People are missing the point with hirst. Whatever happens this season if he has a good season we sign him on already agreed terms. After which we are free to then either sell on if we choose or keep the player here. Think of jovic the lad who signed for Frankfurt a couple of season's back. Then was immediately sold on for more than double what they paid to Madrid.

Or he does nothing goes back to Leicester and bar the wage contribution we have lost nothing. Every transfer is a gamble whether it's a couple of thousand or a hundred million. This is a lot better than previous loans where players have done well here to earn themselves a move elsewhere. That only benefits the player and the parent club.

  9. He'd do better over in la Liga in my opinion. Look how poor he started here when he was immediately under pressure from the fans/press given the amount we paid. As soon as he got away from that and enjoyed himself playing with Chile. He was like a new player  Everton might pay better but imagine the pressure he'd be under from day one. They are already being tipped for another relegation struggle.

  10. Maupay in a similar position to Diaz contract wise. Don't think he ever scored 22 goals in the championship either. Plus he's older, with less potential both ability wise and sell on. Nor is he a full international with a massive fan base to potentially tap in to. We as a club should've done far more with that by the way when diazmania kicked off. And they're paying 15 million for him. We should be getting at least that if not more.

My take on Gallagher is that he was very good during the early stages of his loan. He faded badly towards the end of the season, then went to Birmingham on loan and did nowt.

I was very surprised we were prepared to shell out that much for him.

The same could be said for van hecke and the whole squad for that matter. Despite obviously the Birmingham bit, at the end of last season .

Anyway I would love him back and think he is exactly what this squad is lacking. A bit of fight and desire. Just hope we dont end up desperate and Brighton have our pants down. I think a loan with obligation to buy dependant on how we do this season would be the way to go. And if he signs a new deal on 20k (four times his current wage) a week we should pay the lot to bring him here.

    Really?

Jesus Christ. I don't mean they gave everyone a bank holiday and unveiled a statue. Just that he had a good loan spell here not so much at Birmingham. But he was seen as a steady championship striker who was still relatively young. People certainly weren't opposed despite what people say now with hindsight.

I'm using him as an example of what can happen when a player comes back second time round. Chapman people loved when he came initially on loan. When he came permanently people wanted more of the same and it never happened.
