  1. People were crying out for signings and now we're starting to make them, people still aren't happy 😂. This is football. The manager and director of football live by their results which is obviously influenced by the signings they make. Especially if they're backed. Mowbray would've stuck by dack irregardless. I think he can still have a part to play. But if he doesn't fit the style the manager wants to play then there's not much more can he done.

At the end of the day it's jdt's reputation and job on the line. Both Sammie and Brittain although from league one clubs. They are arguably good enough for this league. They shone in poor teams, so let's hope they do even better in a decent championship team.

I think Saturday showed the difference in quality between the championship and the teams we played in friendlies. Vale had a great pre season and struggled. I'm not saying players like him, Wharton or any of the other young lads can't have a part to play. Especially with the five subs, if the manager chooses to use them. But I think people are getting far too carried away, to think they are good enough to carry this club.l through the season.

  2. Yeah they looked really good, especially in the first half. They went off the boil in the second half and Huddersfield could've nicked one back. Truth is they massively over achieved last season and I think they could be in big trouble.

My wife was buzzing even though I had to explain who most of the players were and what they were doing. She can't remember them ever playing as well as that first half. I rated that maatsen lad last year at Coventry and I think he'll kick on this season. We need to get our shit together if we play that team the way they played first half it could get embarrassing.

Very embarrassing for us that Nyambi would prefer to go Wigan than sign for us. TBH I would imagine Blackpool are, like us, trying to stick to a wage budget - these things happen.

The nyambe situation is totally different. It was him biting his nose off to spite his face. He expected better offers from arguably bigger clubs. These offers never came. There's no way oxford offered him more than say 8k a week. Which is I'm certain Blackpool could match or even better.

That lot signing some very highly rated Brazilian RB from Brugge now. They’re gonna have a whole new squad!

New players done necessary mean better though. No team who comes down with the aid or parachute payment's, usually loses this many first team players. They usually stay for at least a season to see if they can bounce back.

If you wrote all the new names down and compared them with who has left. I'd say most are downgrades. The only player I really rate and this is obviously without seeing what the new lads can do. Would be charlie Taylor. He is too good for the championship and hopefully he gets a move away aswell.

Not convinced we should be spending anything like 3 million on Bermancevic. Rather see that spent on someone familiar with this league.

Trouble is to get that you have to pay over the odds or wait until a player nears the end of his contract. We're best shopping abroad if it means players can use us as a window to get a big move. Much better than the loans where we get nothing in return for a player doing well here.

I've no idea who the lad is the one thing I know is we need numbers. I'm trying not to panic. I'm getting excited for Saturday now, i just hope Burnley lose Friday night to take the pressure off in my house 😅.

Not sure he's going to get a look in at Brighton. When they played Reading on Saturday, Dunk and Veltman started. Webster, Matt Clark and Shane Duffy all came, while Van Heck was unused sub.

Surely he'd be ahead of Matt Clark? He's not exactly set the world alight on his various loan spells. Even still fifth place and that's if they don't add. We can dream.

What do you think is the minimum fee the club should accept ? What if we don't get an offer that matches that ? Supposing the player and his representatives have decided that they are happy to run down his contract in the belief that a signing on fee from a new club - say £5m or so - sets him up financially ?

That's only if he has another season as good as last. Or rather before Christmas and away at Birmingham. It's a risk on his part too. Not saying he wouldn't get snapped up for free. But if he has a bad season the calibre of club will drop too.

The worst possible scenario is we sign him for seven million and he leaves for free. That can't happen again after this summer.

He doesn't strike me as the kind of player who would force a move or down tools. His stock was arguably higher in January and at least to my knowledge I never heard any talk of him wanting to leave.

Yes but Tosin was on about 40k a week at the time. His transfer fee affordable but probably due to the fact the contract he was on at City was very lucrative.

Wouldn't have had many takers if his fee was much higher than the £2 Million and the buying club had to take on that contract.

He had had 1 mediocre spell in the Championship with West Brom and 1 good spell with us

It was just shy of two million they paid and he was on 20k a week at City. Not sure how much his Fulham contract is/was but it'd be more than that. No way we could get him once they were in for him.

Really? Yeah he was great here but has he really made an impact on the thinking of other currently more successful clubs?

    Hasn’t at Brighton…
    One year left…
    Not a huge salary…

    Loves it here…

I’m setting myself up for disappointment I know, but I don’t think we should think of him as unobtainable.

Unfortunately any player who has done well here on loan, always either get into the first team of their parent club or get a move elsewhere. Hopefully with a bit of stability behind the scenes and a decent season under the new management may change this. It'd be incredible if we got him back on loan and even more so on a permanent. He doesn't strike me as the type of player who'd be happy sitting on the bench at Brighton. If he is available I'd love him back, my post was just me being sarcastic.

  10. Dack was arguably one of if not the best player in the championship the first season or so we came up. Obviously two big injuries later he might never reach that level again. But he scores goals and gets in good positions. Whether he presses or is mobile enough is another issue.

With two years left on his deal and very unlikely that any team will be in for him, it makes sense to keep him around. Even if for the last ten minutes. He is a dogged who even if not having the best game will win fouls and draw defenders. He was brilliant at keeping the ball at the corner flag and running the clock down.
