I'm certainly not in favour of going cap in hand to the Issa Brothers as some on Social Media seem to be. My understanding is that the limit of their football interest does not extend beyond occasionally watching Liverpool on the Box. However, surely it would not be beyond the wit of the club to approach them on the basis of two locally high profile entities entering into a mutually beneficial collaboration? I wonder if this has been done? For me 'Euro Garages' would look much better on our shirts than the lamentable and embarrassing Totally Wicked.

Cantwell looks comfortable on the ball, has nice hair and an Alice band. Even so, I'd be happier if we were being linked with a gritty German Right Back or a giant Scandinavian Centre Half.

Benjamin Bloom made what I thought was a very good point on his YouTube channel. He likened following Dyche at B*ly to following Wenger at Arsenal or Whiskey Nose at manyoo. Here's hoping.

I'm very enthused but cautiously optimistic. Obviously, I hope JDT s going to be a wild success but if it doesn't work out, I'm pleased that the club has tried something different and is heading in a new direction.

Certainly is. I accepted that a prosaic style of football from an experienced hand was exactly what a post-Walker Trust funded club needed. You ‘wee with the willy you have’.
Alas folk like your good self had absolutely no nuance and he was merely a ‘long ball dinosaur’ and the sunlit uplands of ‘football the right way’ was only a sacking away… how did that work out?
You mischaracterised me. I accepted The Allardyce Way as a price worth paying in much the same way as the Dingles did with Dyche. I was was worried by his sacking which I acknowledge did not work out very well at all.
Anyway, JDT appears to be the man of the moment, here's hoping that he can unite the fanbase.

Good job he was sacked then.
Nuance not really your thing is it?

Allardyce's first game, as in the 3-0 home win against Stoke? Our first league win since September? When we were 3 up within half an hour?
I have to admit, I personally found that game far less depressing than the 3-0 hammering we received at Wigan the week before, which thankfully bought an end to the Ince debacle. Not Allardyce's first natch, I stand corrected.
I meant the 1-0 defeat around March when Robinson spent the game getting as close to the centre circle as possible before launching the ball into Stoke's Penalty Box.. That wasn't Allardyce's first game, I stand corrected.

Like I said previously, hindsight is a wonderful thing, your sarcasm doesn't alter the fact Sam's hoofball was awful to watch.
It's possible to hold both concepts in your head at the same time. Allardyce's first game away at Stoke was one of the most depressing spectacles that I've ever seen. Likewise, his regular capitulations away to the big clubs. That didn't stop me from feeling alarmed and worried by new owners abruptly dismissing him.

I wonder if JDT has had a look under the bonnet?

Ahh well, let’s all just give up then and not bother even trying to enjoy the summer. Come on mate, surely you can find a bit of positivity with the change? And before you point to the past, the past doesn’t dictate the future. Every situation is temporary, there will be better days. We attract the things we believe…if you don’t believe me look at the people who ‘liked’ your post…
We all have choices. I choose to live in hope because it means I can enjoy the ride. If I’m to be disappointed at the end (like missing out on the playoffs last season) then I can’t control that but at least I had a good time getting to that point.
So, maybe I am jumping the gun, I’m excited by the new change and interested as to how things might unfold. So what? I don’t care about being vulnerable to disappointment and I’m aware of the potential to be let down. It’s my choice to frame it the way I do.
To the Gulag with you.

To have any chance of promotion you need to be hanging on to your better players for a while.
Difficult to argue but in our parlous financial state then I don't think we have a choice. I suppose that the hope has to be that if you can move on players for decent profits each season or two then it keeps us out of FFP peril.and allows a manager some leeway in the transfer market to incrementally improve the squad.

Who we selling after BBD?
Hoping to keep your head above water by finding a £15 million plus player to sell every summer seems a tad optimistic for a middling second division club…
It's a target and not one that can necessarily be met every year. If you have a better method I'm sure the club would love to hear from you.

Yes but is going to be scouting the Armstrongs and Brererton’s ? Neither of those came through our youth teams.
Well I'd be a little disappointed if John Park moves on. His record of bringing in players cheaply and seeing them move on for big profits is very good.

That’s what worries me. As some one said earlier - is the plan to become the next Crewe Alex ? Develop young players and continually sell them on ? That policy got Crewe a good reputation but it didn’t get them very far league position wise.
I would imagine that the plan is to bring through a Wharton or Buckley each season and trade by selling an Armstrong/Brereton annually.

Just had a watch of some videos on Warne. He comes across well, his footballing ideas sound like they would suit our squad, and the way he signs players making sure they are the right fit and right people sounds ok to me too.
He’s not the big name we wanted such as Farke etc, but he’s one I’d give a real good chance.
Also sounds like the kind of manager who wouldn’t let a team slack off, especially after Christmas… no idea how he’ll cope on Sky though 😉
My understanding is that his teams play some pretty basic, direct football and, if we are going to be fairly reliant on the Academy, then I'm not sure he's a good fit if tthat is indeed the case.

What makes you think he isn’t?
I don't think he gives Rovers a second thought but l doubt that he'd want to risk reputational damage by recommending someone on the basis of an old pals act.

what and who is a decent sponsor?
You seem to complain about the Totally Wicked sponsoring the club but its a local company that employ local people that wants to sponsor its local football club.
What other offers where they given the current financial situation of alot of businesses out there. They are recovering from the last 2 years problems.
Our worst ever sponsor and frankly embarrassing from my perspective. I think a club's shirt sponsor can be a reflection of it's status so, for me, this is a depressing development. Additionally, the stance against Betting companies appears to be merely window dressing.

No, no and no. If anything Rovers traditionally wear white shorts and socks which, in my opinion, looks much better.
