I'm pretty certain when a player is signed a first instalment will have to change hands straight away.
Unless they do 0 % deposits like a car dealership !
who knows what the arrangement will be....a delayed first payment until summer is probably not unheard in the annals of transfer history.
he may be really shit and they're just delighted to get £500k for him regardless of when it arrives!

I'm a bit confused that the funds freed up don't allow for transfer fees, and yet we are looking to pay a transfer fee. Sounds like a recipe for getting in further bother with the Indian courts.
we're paying for the Crewe lad in instalments so maybe the first payment isn't due until summer?
Or we're selling someone and it's already done?

Suffolk, I've heard is a lovely place
And if what I've heard is true it's a surprise
I was only joking based on how many people on here don't rate him.
My mate was out with someone who knows him on NYE. He told me 2 clubs in the MLS, as well as Luton and Soton were all very keen on singing him.

If the Crewe guy is any good it's a good investment. There are questions mark over our recruitment though at that kind of price range as Leo and Telalovic have shown.
If he's not yet ready (like the two mentioned) then we still need an experienced head at CB.
Losing Hill on current form is no loss.

3 new big money signings and the holy trinity of Gally, Pearsy and Hedgesy back.
Play-offs are happening. Keep the faith.

Huge question marks around the future of Travis, our club captain who can’t get a game.
Someone who knows someone who knows someone told me he's got 2 offers from America, and interest from Soton and Luton.
Told definitely leaving this January

Another game we'll probably lose because of the bench. Even at full strength it's not all that.
That said, hopefully Semir can get about a bit and get off the mark. COYB
Yep, 4 or 5 of them have never even played in the Championship, and possibly never will.
Rotherham's bench is much stronger, which pretty much sums up where we are as a club.
Fuck off Venky's.

Think Moran is a "manager favourite" cos of the number of assists hes provided this season.
Yes, he's been very inconsistent, and sometimes really poor, but he's still top of the assists chart. Just goes to show what JDT is working with. I think we know where the blame goes for that.

Good to see Telalovic given another shot after the other night.
Moran should be out for Travis but seems to be a manager favourite. They aren't remotely similar players.

Not sure if off-track or bang on match thread.
Arsenal fans on social media calling for Arteta to be sacked after 3 losses in a row! Apparently they always play the same way every game so opposition clubs have worked them out. Generally boss possession, create loads of chances but fail to take them! They want to walk/pass the ball into the net. No real goal-scorers in the team, Saka leads with 6?
Does this sound familiar?
Yes it does sound familiar. There are entitled fans at every club. Some Ipswich fans apparently booed their team off recently.

I was hoping for a visit from our Dingle friends so I could wish them all the best for 2024.
I suppose that won't be happening now.

Being condescending doesn't do you many favours. We all pay our money, watch the games, and have the capability to form our own opinions. Yours is no more valid or insightful than anyone else's. I suggest you accept that you have your own opinion, others will have theirs, and personally attacking or belittling other people for being different to your own view achieves nothing.
It's easy enough to state your views from your own perspective without bringing "excitable supporters" "navel gazing" etc into the conversation. No one reads that and think it adds any greater value to your commentary, it only diminishes what you are trying to say.
Looks like a nerve has been touched.

Lots of navel gazing going on.
We are a team with some key players struggling for form, and dealing with a horrendous injury crisis to an already inadequate squad.
JDT won 6 out of 8 recently. I presume he had nous then, and his tAcTicS weren't an issue. I presume he didn't just get lucky for a full season last year when he finished in the highest league position of anyone in the last 10 years.
We've now lot 7 out of 8. Clubs in the Championship have these kind of runs on a regular basis. It's that type of league.
Hopefully the people at Ewood aren't as knee-jerk as some of the more excitable supporters in our fan base.
It'll be a miracle if we make the top 6, and equally unlikely that we'll go down.
A finish in the other 17 places is par for the course. We are a bottom 3 team in budget after all.
Time for a bit of realism, and a bit of patience.

Many of those can't see through this genial Uncle Tony facade he loves to portray. He had five years on Easy Street and milked it to death.
He was the perfect manager for Venky's and Waggott.

Yeah that’s manager code for the terrace chant can we play you every week.
Yeah, it isn't. Lots of respect out there for JDT, simply because he's a very talented coach.

The only thing that stands out about our team at the moment, is our penchant for losing football matches.
Exactly, and a month or two ago we had a penchant for winning football matches.
Form is temporary, JDT's class is permanent.

"First of all, I have to say that I am so happy we don't have to play Blackburn again this season. They are a credit to Jon. They're an outstanding, young team. I don't want to sound patronising after a win but I thought they were outstanding"
Hull's manager knows.
When you know, you know.

29th November we beat Birmingham to make it 6 wins in 8 and this place was paying homage to the bloke as the second coming.
29th December many of the same folk now want him sacked.
Game of opinions and all that but I base mine on more than one shit month when we have a squad that’s been left to get into this state.
Steve Cooper's imminent. We're going up!

I know Mowbray had the famous ‘death spirals’ but I’m not sure even his teams consistently shipped 3 and 4 goals in games in the way that JDT’s teams have. It has happened on such a regular basis during this mon’s tenure. And it seems to be getting more frequent. And against pretty poor sides as well.
Most successful managers/coaches get the defence right first.
On whether JDT will be sacked or not - I reckon if we were to lose these two coming home games he will be gone.
You think a manager closer to the play offs than the relegation spots is going to be sacked, when they have the budget of a bottom 3 side?

Not according to the sky app. The only matches listed are the Soton and WBA games. They normally list all the RB games when they're available.

How do you know he only gets young players to sign off on? The evidence, as quoted, suggests otherwise.
Venkys are clueless, we all know that. But you haven't grasped the fact that despite this, some of the blame for our poor results is on Tomasson for his tactics, and on Broughton and Tomasson for between them signing poor players.
Are you mates with Chaddy by any chance?
I had my doubts, but glad you've clarified.
Chaddy has more of a clue than you to be fair.

JDT has never really been happy with Travis in midfield 2. He played him as the deepest of the 2 at the start of last season but eventually moved him further forward.
Now he's behind AW and Tronstad for the deep midfield role and behind AW and JRC (and Garrett it seems) for the more attacking of the two CM's.
He's not going to stay if there's no place for him in the team.
