How is Ennis doing?  I see he has now played a few games.
We miss him as he was able to make nothing clearances into something and get us up the pitch.  He was also so super sharp in the box.  Whenever he played you sensed he was going to score.
Just like Whittaker and Hardie (before his injury) he’d have a bucket load of goals by now.

He's either been injured or shit. If he controls the ball he gets a standing ovation.

I found myself at one point in the Watford game thinking “ If football was like this back when I first started watching as a child would I have got involved in the game ?  “.

This was after several passages of walking football , just passing it around aimlessly in our own half before we eventually lost the ball.

When was the last time you enjoyed watching football at Ewood?

All you so called football fans, who are calling JDT. Need to look in the mirror, the best football we have played for years with a young weak squad. If he leaves we will be shopping round for journey managers ,reverting back to route one. The blame stands firmly with the owners who are not backing him.

I don't think the anti-JDT mob have considered what comes next. It's not like we're going to get new owners, a better budget and a beefed up squad full of expensive new signings.

We're a mid-table team with a bottom 3 budget. Of course, sub-standard performances are going to grate, but the outpouring of vitriol against a manager who has done a really good job in difficult circumstances since he joined the club is truly bizarre.

  4. He's not a winger, I think he's been brought in because he has clear technical ability and has got a good finish on him.

The real problem is we've nothing on the right. We need some variety, which means a player at RW who can beat people and has pace. Our wide players  are one-dimensional. It's no surprise we were (apparently|) in for the Palace winger because he's quick and tricky.

We watched different games. When Ennis was taken off at 60’ and replaced with Leonard, the Watford defenders quickly realised there was now only a one dimensional threat coming forward and pushed up 10-15 yards. That was the main reason we lost - we were pushed further back and put under increased pressure, then we eventually cracked.

Leonard could turn out to be a player, but desperately needs an EFL loan for me. As it stands he’s not strong enough, not quick enough and doesn’t convert enough of his chances. It’s not his fault — he shouldn’t have been put in this situation and wouldn’t have been if our owners hadn’t got themselves in trouble with the law.

Ennis was awful, running round to very little effect with the ball bouncing off him every time he tried to hold it up. And I can assure they didn't push up 10-15 yards when HL came on because HL is quicker than Ennis.

The reasons we lost is 1) Hyam went off 2) they brought on some rapid subs 3) Leo fell to pieces 4) Our legs went

Nowt to do with HL replacing Ennis.

Said it before, whilst I certainly don’t blame him for our current situ, Tomasson  probably isn’t the right man for the circumstances.

Bizarre, you're taking like we're bottom of the league. He's exactly the right man for the circumstances, because he plays good football and gets enough wins to keep us safe in the upper half of the Championship.

Who knows, with a bit of luck, we might even be challenging for PO's again come May like he had us doing last season.

Tomasson's still got it all to prove, flexibility and more pragmatism on tactics, knuckling down when it gets tough, closing out matches. Knowing how to win when not playing well. It's not all about the beautiful game

He did all that regularly at Ewood in the first half of last season. People moaned about the football on offer.

He has since achieved what he said he would when he first arrived at Ewood i.e. a distinctive style of fast attacking football. It doesn't always come off, and doesn't always result in wins, but the identity he has created is there for all to see.

The idea that he is naive, as some have said, is laughable. He plays in a very deliberate way.

Interesting to see people saying Ennis was well off it. Obviously he's not fully match fit but I thought we suffered when he went off.

Opinions and all that, but I just thought Watford were more at it 2nd half. They closed us down a lot more aggressively from the start of the half. I don't think Ennis lumbering around slowly up front had much of an impact on the game in either half.

Not to lose 7 home games by Christmas.

I know it doesn't matter where you get points as long as you get them, but still, it's a massive problem.

The other side of that coin is that we've won the joint 4th highest number of games away.

Home and Away there are only 4 teams that have won more games than us.

So the manager is clearly doing something right.

Concentrating on the negatives in order to make a point isn't really a fair representation.

You know my feelings the guy really needs some backing to play the way he wants to but in the absence of that he needs to seriously rethink what he's doing.

The club as it is deserves and probably needs a plodder but as fans we want ambition and an ambitious approach and JDT has that in spades. Have to say though with this squad it isn't really working now there are huge flaws in it that are being exposed weekly.

So where do we go from here ?

We're 5 points off 6th at the half way mark. What were you expecting this season?

Yesterday our midfield three were excellent for seventy minutes and pretty much everything that was good came from them. The balance of the three worked perfectly well and whilst Wharton caught the eye with his silky skills the hard yards that Garrett put in was really good, his two blocks in the first half exemplified his game and he was ridiculously booked for what I think is the tackle of the season so far. Tronstad is one of the cleanest tacklers I have seen for a long time. He completely disproves the theory that you need to be a brute to tackle, it's about timing. He short passing game and ability to keep the ball moving is something I really enjoy watching.

There are so many good things about Rovers right now but they come from the football side through the players and coaching staff. I really dislike losing but the football we are playing at times gets me off my feet.

If only the owners and hierarchy at our club could match the desire, drive and ambition of the playing side.

I think that was AW's best game in a Rovers shirt, which I don't think was a coincidence. With Garrett and Tronstad offering protection to the back 4, AW had a lot more freedom to get forward, capped a brilliant goal.

When he inevitably moves to the PL I think he'll be more of an attacking mid. He's a bit wasted just sat in front of the back 4 starting off attacks.

I liked the look of that midfield 3 yesterday. We looked more compact until their legs went late on. The conundrum is where do you play Szmodics? He isn't a striker or a winger.

In the first half Siggy was out wide left more often than not. Right in front of me actually. I agree about us not having a pop. We were trying to score the perfect goal. They had a pop from distance twice and got lucky twice.

My mate came along for the first time in a while today. He said the same about us not shooting, and trying to score the perfect goal. Siggy and Moran were particularly guilty of it. We are short of a fast, direct winger.
